  • Shalom, Ahlan and welcome!
Since the signing of the Abraham Accords a couple of years ago flights between the UAE and Tel Aviv flourished.
It’s been an incredible sight for me as a Dubai resident to see new faces around in our great city.
This was a big step in what I hope will be many more relationship improvements in this part of the world.
El Al is an historical airline full of incredible stories that proudly represents its country, and I’m happy to finally catch a flight after missing 2 due to “security related issues”.
That is the most negative part for genuine visitors, as you might face multiple delays and loss of patience due to profiling. I happen to live in Dubai and have visited many, if not all, Muslim/Arabic countries.
But once I finally managed to board the B787-9 I ensured to make the most out of it.
El Al has a great plane with a far better product then I expected.
    Care to join me?
    Enjoy!
Today we are showcasing you the following flight:
From: Dubai International Airport, The United Arab Emirates
To: Tel Aviv Ben-Gurion International Airport, The State of Israel
    Flight Number: LY972
    Aircraft Type: Boeing B787-9
    Registration: 4X-EDM
    Flight Time: 03:06
Don’t forget to like and subscribe if you enjoyed our video!

I knew they always had enhanced security but never thought it was to that extreme. But I guess it’s the cost of business flying with them given their circumstances. I must say the product looked phenomenal. Loved that you decided to share this video of a less heralded airline like El Al.

    • @TheLayoverAviation

The product is stunning! I’m very happy I tried it. But yes, the security for those like me is very harsh. Perhaps it’s easier for the ordinary Joe.

This is a great report! I visit Israel every year because my daughter lives there. El Al, United, Delta, Lufthansa. 747, 777, 787, A-340. Yes, you understand the security measures. Don’t feel bad, they do the same to me! The only logical explanation I have for the windows is that the Dubai desert sun probably uses more power for air-conditioning, so maybe they were trying to reduce power consumption. I’ve been on El Al’s retro 787, and I have a takeoff here on YT, if you want to see it. The old 777 economy was far more comfortable (3-3-3) than the 787.

      Thanks for writing Dave!
I don’t mind the security measures, I just mind ending up with all the suspects all the time😂
I don’t think the window situation has any answer except for personal preference of the person who dimmed it. It was a winter day in Dubai with temperatures around 21°C..
I’l check out your video, I’m happy to see the B777!

Considering the very hostile environment El Al is operating in I fully understand their very strict security measures even though it also affects people with no bad intentions. If more Muslim countries followed Bahrain's and the UAE's example things might slowly improve but the extreme misinformation and hatred that most Muslim countries taught their people over decades and still do makes me doubt that El Al can ever let down its guard

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  Před rokem +4

I also understand it, I just don’t know how I always end up with the most suspicious people. There’s various “threat” levels from what I observed, 3 different security lines and I always end up at the worse.
I unfortunately don’t see anyone letting their guard down in the foreseeable future.

There is no such thing as extreme misinformation. The facts are clear. Isreal is guilty of some of the worst crimes against humanity on this present day and age, on palestinians. EL Al just suffers from the consequences as the flagship of Israel and rightly so. Hopefully no one else follows the disgusting example of Bahrain and the UAE so that they always have to be on their guard just like what they do to Palestine. FREE PALESTINE 🇵🇸 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

BR Trip Report, based on what I have heard about Israelis (extremely rude, arrogant, over-bearing, and aggressive), the fact that they did something as unpleasant and "disrespectful" as dimming the windows and IMPOSING their will on the passengers seems in keeping with the national character. The negative opinions which I have heard about Israelis seem also to be partially corroborated by the remark made by the maker of this video about not expecting any finesse or smiles when one flies with EL AL. Therefore, I am not surprised by the lack of finesse exhibited by the cabin crew in dimming the windows regardless of whether the passengers wanted it or not.
