- Why Do I Have Low TSH? // It’s common for people with Hashimoto’s and thyroid problems to be familiar with lab high TSH, but what if your labs are showing low TSH? Especially if you have low TSH and low thyroid symptoms? TSH is an important thyroid marker, but it’s only one piece of solving our symptoms. This is again very timely. I have struggled to know what's really going on, as my tsh levels have been suppressed, and I often feel hyper, but still experience the hypo symptoms. Will be so good to get some real answers and a new plan of action. 👍
Hi Devonne, as I mentioned, it's common to have this odd mixture of symptoms. This is why it's important to get our immune system more stable, which then can give us a clearer picture of what we need to support!

I got diagnosed with hashimotos a few months ago after a few years of symptoms which have got worse over time and I requested having my antibodies checked after googling my symptoms. Surprise, I have positive tpo and ana antibodies but "normal" tsh however its on the very low end of normal. My doctor will not test my t3 or t4 as they keep saying your tsh is normal. I've got a constant battle with them as I keep going back saying I feel ill please help but they keep saying it's health anxiety 🤷♀️ despite the antibodies. I've got so much more information from your videos than the doctor as they text me my results and said we will check your tsh in a year and that's it absolutely no help at all. Thank you for all these amazing videos 😊
Hi Haybee, I'm really sorry to hear about your struggles with your doctor! That sort of stuff happens way too often and it's a horrible approach when you're feeling so poorly. Antibodies can contribute to symptoms even when our TSH is normal and I don't know why more doctors don't recognize that. I'm glad the videos have been helpful though! By the way Hashimoto diagnosed theroid gland scarred and almost gone, had a neckhernia operation between C6-C7 frontal that is where complications started (was already familiar with low theroid and on Thyrax meds). Now I also took Cytomel T3 had few great months but nowadays back to gain weight, terrible sleep, fatique
Have ablated thyroid for 30 years. Normal T4 levels, and usually low T3. Poor conversion. Antibodies are fine. My TSH is always low when I am medicated. Twice taken off meds, TSH 49! No doc has had an answer.
You give great info on the thyroid. My thyroid was removed due to nodules which turned out not to be cancerous. Since that time i have worked to regulate my thyroid and try to feel better. Recently i told my DR that is felt sluggish and asked him to increase it which he did. I take NDT. After taking it for 3 months along with Berberine, i recently experienced a problem getting a deep breath while i was playing tennis. My interest tested it and found it was low .01. So I stopped taking the additional 30mg to see if my breath would improve. It has a bit but not perfect. Have you ever heard of someone with thyroid issues not being able to get their deep breath?
My TSH level was declining though im not taking any medicines after Total Thyroidectomy and my RAI therapy was getting postponed .
My 25 yr old son was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on levothyroxine, he suffered for 10 months with extreme fatigue even though bloods came back normal he stayed symptomatic, he had heart palpatations and was unable to work or do any exercise which left him with low moods, he decided to go holistic route and stopped taking levothyroxine 2 weeks ago, his bloods now show tsh 0.009 with high t3 he has went from hypo to hyper, this is so confusing and i feel helpless watching him struggle, im hoping once levothyroxine leaves his system his tsh levels will increase and his thyroid heals naturally, any help or advice will be most welcome, we are getting desperate, levothyroxine made him feel horrendous and he does not want to take it ever again...
But was confusing is low is high and high is low, I wish more doctors or people talking about thyroid would say this, like I'm 0.21 so I'm hyperthyroid which is high, if you're below 3.0 you are low actually if I was that low I would fall asleep. 2 is optimal. And they mark my blood work at the high end low and at the low end high and it's really confusing.

what would cause the a "flare up" in a Hashimoto patient? I'm going through this right now, but I am avoiding all the things that cause TPO antibodies to raise.
my TSH is below the normal range (0.19 uIU/mL), Free T4 and T3 Levels are normal, no Thyroid Antibodies detected, and ultrasound shows a normal thyroid scan, I'm confused about what can cause low TSH. Interestingly I also have low LUTEINIZING HORMONE (0.5) and low Testosterone levels (200) . Not sure if there is any connection there.

My doctor prescribed my with levothyroxine 50mcg but it doesnt seem to be getting better. Do you have any advice on what i should do?
Hello there, i have normal exams, but my temperature when i wake up is always 34.9c - 35.1c never higher then that.
TSH 1.89 - T4 0.98 - free T3 0.31 - TPO Ok
What exams should i ask my doctor to see if i have autoimmune issues, Brain related problems?

Hi Anna, that would certainly be flagged as lab low according to the standard ranges. You'll want to follow up with your doctor and take a look at the rest of your thyroid markers and symptoms to determine what's going on there!
Thanks so much for sharing Brad. My TSH has been low for a while. Last time it was 0.16 Listening to your video now I'm wondering if this could this be the reason I had a tachycardia event recently, and ended up in hospital for a few days.
I'm seeing a cardiologist who specializes in the electrics of the heart in a few days time.

Hi Laury, thanks for the question! Propranolol is a beta blocker. It's job is to slow your heart rate to reduce risk of beating too hard or fast, which will also lower your blood pressure. This will not affect your thyroid markers, it is only to manage symptoms.

My blood pressure has always been on the low side of normal, and I have classic hyperthyroid symptoms.
I thought regulating the markers would address symptoms?
