I'm making my first batch while watching your video currently. My rum of choice on this batch will be Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum. Next time I make a Allspice Dram I think I'll use Rum Fire for my base sprit.

Nice! We have also used Wray & Nephew in our Allspice Dram before, it was definitely tasty!

I don’t have access to allspice dram where I live so I followed your recipe ( but I used Plantation oftd ) and it turned out fantastic. When my wife went out of state I had her pick me up some St Elizabeth allspice dram so I could do a side by side compromise to the commercial stuff. The homemade stuff came out almost identical, maybe just a tinny bit better (taste a bit fresher). Thanks so much! Now I can make all the Lions Tails I want without worrying about running out of dram.

I'll make mine using OFTD since you seem to think it was so successful. Seems legit

Nice thanks for sharing! Do you find a sieve is fine enough or is a coffee filter better?

Wray & Nephew to stay with the Jamaican roots of the allspice….

I've never tried making anything this complicated. I've been able to find a good bottled one though.

We have a lot of fun making our own. We also do our own Falernum from time to time.

how about dark rum? rich and aromatic?

Most Dark Rums on the market have flavor additives and/or added sugar that can change the overall result to something sweeter than you may want, but it’s fun to experiment.

Hail up ! I been using my Grandmothers' recipe for 40+ years, you are close, but you are missing 2 ingredients..one is definitely unavailable in U.S..
All the best ! RUM : Wray and Nephew Appleton Estate 150 proof....OR Rum Bar ..from Worthy Park Estate ..send me a non-personal P.O. address and I'll see if U.S. customs will allow in a flask.of 3 yr old pimento liquer / dram. I'm 76, not scammer.
