Best Rose moment in the whole series is at 3:16 when she gets her teddy bear Fernando back and pushes Daisy out the door!
The clip where Rose says, " Thanks Dad ", that was Bob Hope. Not sure how many of the youngins will know who he is, but he was a comedic legend.
Yeah there was absolutely no set up for what was going on before that clip, so I can kind of see why he was confused.
Whoever sends you these clips sometimes just don’t include enough of the set up for the jokes. If you’re not a true fan and don’t know all the episodes, much of it is lost. There are wayyyyy better best of clips online that you should use and react to. As a true fan I just want your viewers to get a better view of the show and these funny moments

Saw an old interview with Rue McClanahan that the original casting had Betty White playing Blanche, and they wanted Rue to read for Rose.
True. Thanks god they changed that. And in the test script (when they were in the process of developing ideas for the show) they thought for Dorothy "a Bea Arthur" type of woman. They even wrote that in the first script. And thank god, they talked her into it..because at first she didn't want to. After Maude she didn't want to do another sitcom. Lucky for us that she changed her mind. Can there be a better Dorothy than Bea Arthur?

I'd thought this before, but I was reminded today when Tim Conway's (r.i.p.) elephant story showed up in my feed. It always make me laugh myself to tears.

Rose was the lovable and naïve Scandinavian gal who grew up on a farm in Minnesota. She was always talking about her (sheltered)life in St. Olaf. Minnesota really is full of Scandinavian folks who settled their over 250 yrs ago. Why do you think their NFL Football team is called the Vikings? Yup, cause that's the heritage of most Minnesotans.
The last one is Rose reminiscent her last day in her village after her husband died where she was alone there at her house. That's when she decided to move to Miami and started a new life - and of coz meeting the other golden girls.
The reference she was talking about her dead husband Charlie, was basically about the Game Show host of Password from the 60s to 80s was Allan Ludden. Sorry for the spelling of his name. I believe it was cancer he passed away from

For most of this you need the whole context. For example why Rose tricked that girl for the teddy bear. Or why she said "thanks Dad" to Bob Hope. The last one when Rose asked "what happens when there is only one of us left" tho.. sigh .. in fact Betty White is the last golden girl .. I think everyone from the cast is gone already except for her. May she live forever..
Not only is Betty the only one left, Estelle (Sophia) is the one who replies "Don't worry, I can take care of myself." She was the first one that died. 😢
I remember this. I was thinking about this episode WHEN Rose was the only one left. I then remembered Sophia had said, "Don't worry, I'll take care of ya."

Another thing i noticed about the last clip is that they are in the exact order of their demises (except for Betty)... Kinda eerie but maybe that's just me.

I also liked a conversation Sophia, Rose, and Dorothy had while they were in the waiting room of a psychiatrist's office (I think it's the episode where Blanche is depressed about going into menopause). Sophia, talking about someone they see in the waiting room: "Did you see that? Total fruitcake! We're talking serial murderer here!" Rose: "Well if someone tries to murder cereal, he should see a psychiatrist!" Dorothy: "Don't talk for the rest of the afternoon." 😂😂
honestly i find shows like this much funnier than a lot of so called comedies on tv in this era
