Funny you say this because Yamashita himself is not fluent in English. He's said he doesn't speak it much at all he has just always been good at memorizing lyrics which is amazing considering how he is able to put the right emphasis on certain words when he's singing, I had assumed he was fluent.
@@SurAuvers I always figured he learned along the way after getting together with Mariya Takeuchi, since she's actually quite fluent, didnt know he doesnt really speak it.
They did awesome covers of this in both Japanese and English! This is right up there with there Tatsuro Yamashita's "Magic Ways" on his all-English 1984 album Big Wave.
