I plan to mod my KLX 250 to a clean, brown and beige with black trim color scheme in the future (as fast as money allows.)

Other than the Athena kit, you could always throw money at the suspension lol. Some adjustable powder coated triples and a revalve would handle real good!

I love the look of this bike. Red wheels look sweet, the seats are what keeps me off dirt bikes and motards, good info mate. You have done a lot of work to that bike, I'm with you on the white without the stickers, clean.

The gearing doesn't affect the odometer. The odometer runs off of the speedo drive (aka front wheel) which has nothing to do with the number of miles. the only thing that can affect the odometer is the size of the front tire.
+Da Northlander Changing the gearing definitely affects both my WRR's. The WRR/X speed sensor is in the gearbox, not the front tire. That is why when you change gearing, the odometer/speedometer is affected. It is also why there's an electronic inline "SpeedoHealer" made for these bikes that easily remedies the situation.

Most newer injected bikes run the speedo off the gearbox.
My bike runs the odometer off the front tire. most smaller bikes i´ve seen have them on the front tire. There should be two wires coming down to the front tire in that case, one for the front brake and one for the odometer. can't see the second wire on this WR250X so... it´s in the gearbox

You should paint the ferrings matte black, and do the top of the seat red, and possibly add red to the handle bars
And paint the sump guard red too :)

btw, you should probably get an engine rebuild, cuz 20,000 miles is alot. i have the same bike but like 5k. But it depends if you ride hard or not, if you just cruise, then youll probably be fine, but i usually ride hard, so i would replace the top end before it seizes and ruins the whole engine.

20,000 miles on a Supermoto is pretty impressive.
I got everything except the bit about the X Up Motor elimination. Why would you need a motor for the exhaust? I was thinking maybe as something to boost air into the intake from where it sits.

Is it just me or do WRs seem to have stiff clutches? Even after installing my RSC lever, I'm not thinking "WOW! I can single single all day!" For some reason or another I'm feeling some sort of pump even using two...

Hey absolutely love your bike man been saving for my first I want a wr250 myself was actually wondering what’s the difference between the r and the x other than r being set up for trail I found an r for a good deal what all would I have to go through to convert it to an x?
How did you get your plastics like that, or did you buy them? If so where and how much did they go for, would like to go for a matte color
Jelly of your wheels, I have almost identical ones but they're full of scratches and the surface is all faded because of the sun :/

Dude, on my 1982 Suzuki GS550L, my clutch is so stiff. Like, it takes at least three fingers to pull. I think it has to do with the fact it hasn't ran in a couple years...but other than that, what could be the cause of that?
