  • This will show you how to take apart and put back together a Browning polymer Magazine on the new browning X-bolts. Every one I have talked to said it impossible to do.

    Just found this video, bought a replacement mag 12 months ago when mine started playing up not knowing you could repair them. Luckily I kept it and have just followed the instructions and now have 2 working mags. Good video thanks

    Great video! I threw my son's clip in the garbage and was going to order a new one, but searched CZcams and found your video. I picked it out of the garbage and fixed the clip in 5 minutes!

    Yo!! I just have to say this is the only video I could find on how to put this damn thing back together. I stopped at Safeway on the way home and grabbed like to twisty ties and in 10 min had it back together and fully functional. Thank you. Sincerely helped me out and I appreciate it!

    Thanks brother. Attempted this method wit a wire, but no vice. I could easily tell i needed an extra hand. Thank for proving my idea out!

    Good video, thank you. I had an issue with my x bolt hells canyon 300 Win Mag. The mag was too tight to allow my hand loads to load into the mag. I just took a screwdriver and loosened the screw one turn- problem solved!

    Great job on the video 👌. My wife bought me a hells canyon McMillan in 6.5 PRC I have reload and I've been hesitant to take it apart. I want to shave the inside of the magazine to make the overall length longer.
    Thank you

    Thanks for the how to fix it video, great job explaining it. Please stop referring to a magazine as a clip.

    Hey Bo thx for the video needed to see this done. I'm new to reloading I have a xbolt chambered in 300wm it seems the reloaded rounds get hung up in the clip where the plastic shoulder in the clip binds on the brass shoulder of the round. My question is can I remove some of the plastic shoulder in the clip?

    • @bo2103
      @bo2103  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes you can shave I shaved mine.

      Was just heading out to the shop to shave the shoulder decided to try backing out the plastic screw I got about a turn and a half and then the round popped up I backed it out another 1/4 turn for a total of 2 turns and seems to be running smoothly now. Your video was very helpful thank you

    Good vid. I am noticing it is barely cycling in the cold weather up north in NH. I switched out to my lever gun because it seemed like the cold was affecting cycling. Any thoughts?

    Is this the fix for bullets skipping over while cycling? My x bolt doesn’t cycle properly once in a while the bolt skips over the shell.

    • @bo2103
      @bo2103  Před 2 lety

      No sounds to me you need to unscrew the back a little. The shells are tight. Also if they are reloads they maybe a little longer and causing a hang up.

    Worked great
    Mag still not working so dusted with graphite powder. Now working properly

      This is more for when you back the screw out to far and sucker comes apart. You can back screw out a turn or so to lengthen.

      My xbolt mag, 204, and xbolt sometimes have a feed issue.
      Might be the way I work the bolt.
      Sometimes the head of the case jumps up above the bolt...I have to retreat the bolt to let the head drop down into the action.
      Its as if the spring is too strong..
      Any suggestions?
      Xbolt bolt strip would be good too..
      Thanks.

      @@misterlewgee8874 are these reloads? Seems to me you need to unscrew the back a turn to lengthen the mag. If you happen to unscrew completely refer to my video to fix it.

      @@bo2103 thanks for amazingly fast reply
      To be clear, loosen screw one turn will decrease spring pressure?
      They are reloads. They are not getting stuck in magazine.
      The throat in 204 is sooo long...btw..bullets are seated all the way out .but still fit easily in magazine...
      Also. .sometimes the rear of the magazine "hangs", gets stuck, in magazine well...only in the field...falls out perfectly at home.
      There was a lip where the back plate of the magazine joins the body of the magazine... carefully filed smooth.... problem mostly gone.
      Strange it's intermittent.
      I notice there is a fairly sharp angled lip of metal in magazine well too...I have thought of lightly dremelling in smooth...
      Many thanks .

      @@misterlewgee8874 I would tighten the screw up if bullet fits well and test. Then unscrew and test to see what you need out of mag a lengthen or tighten mag.
