    Yeah, I think PXG headquarters are so so pleased with you right now. They have definitely hit the ultimate home run here with all the advanced launch and distance tech in these tour inspired looking and feeling irons. These are definitley on my shortlist and your review content is brilliant!! Super well done. It helps when you have perfect range conditions and real turf to hit on and as you quite rightly said, the only thing letting you down here were the quality of the range balls. It's actually quite funny - I hunted high and low all over my county here in the UK for a dedicated range and found one that had real golf balls and not range balls but it was a matt/artificial grass range which is it good. I tend to hit my shots and inch behind the ball fat all the time once i step,onto the real grass golf course. I hunted around all over the country in fact to find a range such as the one you tested these that has high quality ramge balls or at least real golf balls. I found none!!! Disappointed I come home and inline i found a golf course advertising a grass range with real golf balls!!!??? So i play there all the time now and its fantastic. Mill Green golf club Hertfordshire and its within walking distance from my home!!! What a surpise blessing it was.

    I have the PXG blades 0317 ST and the CB in 4.5i. Now I want to go 4-7i in these new T’s. I got fit at PXG for the ones i have. Going back to get fit because for me sound and feel are the most important once you have the right shaft. I had a set of Gen 3 T’s and I can tell you they were the most rewarding iron to hit in the middle of the face of anything I’ve ever had and I have had all the top irons

    I just ordered my set of these 0317Ts after getting fit. I agree with you on the players distance but I think they shade closer to the players iron with the consistency of spin and launch I was getting at least. Like PXG nailed it with something in between the two categories. Great review and comparison as the ping was the other irons i was trying out coming from the G430 i currently have, but the PXG fitting experience really sold me on the 0317T irons

    Absolutely brilliant content! I couldn’t agree more with every one of your points. I have the 0317 CB and just ordered the 0317T for the long irons, for all the reasons you laid out. Ironically, I also have a SLDR mini 14 with Tensei Pro I bring in and out of the bag depending on the course and/or how I’m hitting driver lately.

    I’ve been gaming the PING I230’s this season. I’ve never played better in my life. I love the look of the PXG 0317 T’s. Great review. Sounds like it would be a win, win with either iron set. It would come down to feel for me.

    Cool comparison on the irons. Maybe bring the T150 into the mix? Similar to these in the forgiveness dept but are forged and sole width is probably similar to the PXG

    Great review. If you can find a set, compare both of these irons to an old set of Ping S55's. I am pretty sure that they are the best iron that Ping has ever produced.

    Thoughts on instead of blending CB blending ST with the T? I'm hearing that CB has thicker sole.

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Před 3 měsíci +1

      That absolutely could be done!
      I don’t have them side by side to compare sole width unfortunately.
      Only recommendation I would say is to make sure you get the lofts correct so your yardage gapping in consistent 👍

  • @goldenstategangsta9699
    @goldenstategangsta9699 Před 11 měsíci +1

    what would you compare the 0317T to in terms of pxg products. Is it similar top a 0211 ST or closer to the gen4 and gen 3 0311 T?

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Před 10 měsíci +1

      From what I remember the 0211 ST is a bit thinner than the new 0317T. Unfortunately I don’t remember the exact look of the older T’s, but it’s likely going to be more in that realm vs. an ST iron.
      I would really say it’s like a slightly thicker looking 0317 CB if that resonates at all 👍

    I'm super torn between PXG combo set and T100. Are T100 irons better turf interaction? How much better would you say?

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Both are great irons, in terms of turf interaction the T100’s play with pretty low bounce and would likely be better in firmer conditions or for a shallower attack angle. PXG’s play with a bit more bounce so likely better in softer conditions or if you are a bit steeper. Hopefully that helps 👍

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Před 10 měsíci

      I think I’d give the edge to PXG’s in this category. The i230’s are a massive improvement, feel wise, over the i210’s imo; But the PXG’s really have a nice solid, yet soft feel through impact.

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Před 3 měsíci

      The 0317T is a hollow-body players distance design and the Blueprint S is a more of CB style club with some inserts (similar to T150) in the longer irons.
      Both are good in different ways, but I think a very underrated combo would be something like the Blueprint S in short/mid irons and i230 or 0317T in longer clubs.

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Před 3 měsíci

      Hollow body irons with a more players shape/size/offset are traditionally considered players distance 👍

    • @djcardwell
      @djcardwell Před 3 měsíci

      @@TheEquipmentJunkie but they have a fill in them to prevent distance. Seems like it's more of a CB category. Saw a Korn Ferry tour player win with them 4-9 in the bag. I don't thing a tour player would want players distance irons.

      When I hear players distance I think P790

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Před 3 měsíci

      @@djcardwell Any iron that has a thinner face which is then welded to the body is going to be hotter/have more ball speed than a one-piece forging.
      The goo in the head is mainly for structural support and feel, thus why the T’s are considered players distance.
      To your point of them being played on tour, Harry Higgs has played the Taylormade P770’s on the PGA Tour as well. There are no rules saying tour pros must play single-piece forgings. They could play game improvement clubs if they wanted to and ultimately choose what they believe will help them play their best golf.
      For some that’s extremely small blades and others it’s a larger iron. No right or wrong, just different 👍
