The contrast between jan and paddy right after each other is so crazy. He was too quick to offer Jamal hill a title shot
As he was leaving, one of Ankalaev's cornerman was asking (almost demanding) Dana to give the belt to Ankalaev
Nah. That was part of the script. This way he can immediately give a title shot to Texeira, which is what the fans want. If he had given the belt to any of these guys, Texeira would have had to wait for them to be ready to fight again.
Dana knows what he’s doing, the judges knew the script. Two horrible decisions in one night? Not a coincidence.

Honestly, might be an unpopular opinion, but I dont particularly care about the commentary team being impartial. Respect to Jan but I scored that fight 3-2 with a 10-8 5th round too. This moment was super odd to me because Jan was clearly out of it from the beating he took in the last round. He didn’t need to say any of that or apologize for anything. Also Joe saying he thought Jan lost to him back was disrespectful imo. I think everyone involved needs to rewatch the fight with a clear head.
Yes it was , not the first time Joe is bias towards Jan's opponent
I'm not that mad about this one. I had it 47-47. It really comes down to round one.
Yeah, and even the 2 of the 3 judges gave rounds 1, 2 and 3 to jan. So a tie imo is completely fair.
@Seriouslynotgood mago deserved it and realistically won the fight. But I get it, pointwise if Jan gets the round1, it's a draw. If anything, call BS on scoring criteria, not on anything else.. paddy win was nonsense though
@@Cod_UR_gamer I wouldn't say he realistically won. I think the draw was a fair decision. People think the fight was one sided only because of that 5th round. And realistically if just one more judge scored that round 5 as a 10-9 for magomed, than Jan would've taken the belt home.
It’s always the people that didn’t do enough to win that complain about why they didn’t win. Rounds 2-3 were Jan and 4-5 were his. Round 1 was close enough to where you could’ve given the belt to either of them and it wouldn’t have been a bad decision. A tie is unfortunate but it’s not a bad decision at all considering how the fight went.
The scorecards actually made sense. Magomed was clearly the winner in the sense that he ended the fight as the superior fighter and would have likely won unanimously or got a finish if there were more rounds, but Jan could've easily won the first 3. So even though its kind of dumb, thats how mma judging works
I agree. And honestly you never know how a 6th or a 7th round would have turned out. It is shitty, but it was the right decision.
It makes me wonder if they should change the way it all works but then again I was exploring the thought and realized if they were in a real fight there wouldn’t be a break at 5 minutes in so even though Magomed clearly prevailed at the end and survived the impending leg kick doom and really showed out in those championship rounds and proved to be the better martial artist that night imo, it’s a tough sport with the way it’s scored vs our perception and personal feelings attached to the events
