I'll be honest with you, I'm from here, about 45 min South of Jackson. A Neighborhood's environment is only as dangerous as you make it for yourself. How you treat people plays a huge part in that. I work all over this country now and Mississippi has some of the most genuine hospitable people ever. I love it here. Be respectful and mind your business and people will be nice. That's been my experience anyway.

Looks like Baptist Town. Used to patrol there 25 years ago. Great people that had pride in themselves, no matter the look of the neighborhood. The owner of the old Chinese restaurant Ho Sai Gai used to live on McLean St. Drove up on where a guy named Fortay killed a guy named Beck back in 1997. Bad scene that day. Over a damn girl too. Two lives gone.

Shit, three blocks south of BTown. McLaurin and Roosevelt was where I worked my first homicide call in the summer of 1995. Kid named Jerome McClee got shot on the corner from McLaurin Park. 14 years old. Felt that one for a minute, I’m not gonna lie.

We took a road trip from the North USA to the South and came here to go to the Crystal Cafe that was recommended in Gourmet magazine, but it was closed that day, as well as almost everything else being it was the 4th of July. We ended up eating at a roadside barbecue next to KFC. It was great, people were friendly and offered us help, too. We got a flat tire when we hit the curb while making a u-turn. It was probably more memorable than if we ate at that cafe and went on our merry way!

I mean I've not met the first bad soul yet . We all are the same we bleed the same and we will all turn to dust in the same ground we where made from . Why do we have to tag someone cause of the neighborhood or a persons life style stop the hate don't be so quick to judge cause I bet u more than anything if u needed help those ppl that live in that hood would do everything they could to help u without thinking about what kinda person u are unless u give reason or disrespect they are no different than u me or anyone and in god's eyes we are all the same one . I got a great job at Milwaukee Tools, bought me a car and partied all the time. Somebody stole my car while I was there but a friend of mine got it back for me, that's the wildest thing that ever happened to me there but it's not as bad of a place as people are making it seem. Midwest southern west coast and east coast negros left from Mississippi its time to go back grow the food establish exclusive trade route through the delta with Africa and revitalize the infrastructure .
