Absolutely one of my favorite movies. From a 72 year old motorcyclist here.
66 and bought 3 bikes last yr. 2- TW200's and a Honda XR250R
Keep on keepin, stay safe out there
I'm only 63 years old, three bikes too: one BMW R 1150 GS (2003) and a K 75 RT ABS (1991), here in Reunion island (Indian Ocean, near Mauritius); and another BMW K1100 LT (1996) in France.
I 💛 that movie.
Directors and Producers captured and delivered this film with perfection , Sir Anthony Hopkins was perfect for this part.
I was working with a Kiwi girl here in England not long after the film came out . She was flipping about it ,so I watched it and was amazed . Always enjoyable to watch , such a great story ,well told & believable acting . Love it 👌
Simply one of the best movies i have ever seen
It really is a fantastic movie - every damn minute of it
That little boy takes care of Burt's lemon trees while he is away.
Ha ha , yeah ! 🤭
@Phil Allison You will have to watch it!
@Phil Allison One of my favorite movies!
Great movie! You couldn't have picked a better actor than Mr. Anthony Hopkins to portray Mr. Burt Munro!!!!!
Absolutely perfect choice. Even got the Rs right
I am New Zealander and when I go to the USA and go to the salt flats during speed week while wearing a all blacks t shirt
The movie has been out for a long time. Few people have seen it till now. The hot rod community embraced it, gave it a second life. Fits right in with Two Lane Blacktop & Vanishing Point. Hopkins said this was his favorite...
Wow. Not many people know of Two Lane Blacktop!
You have impressed me!
Im a hot rodder and you are completely correct !!!!!!! I still have my 69 chevelle too !!!!
Well I was in the movie one of the bikers in hall and beach race still have the bike 50 triumph
Burts buddy said Anthony nailed it. Even Burts mannerisms.
First time I watched this I don't think I was in the right frame of mind for it's pacing. Maybe I watch too many films that move too fast, with characters that interact in predictable ways, usually confrontationally. But I'm a motorsport enthusiast, so I watched it again last week, and just sat back, turned off my phone and enjoyed how every person Burt encountered looked like they would be hostile towards initially him but then his demeanour always won people over and it was one of the nicest feel-good films I've watched in ages.
A completely wonderful movie. If you don't own it, buy it. Don't pirate it, pay for it. The makers damn well deserve it, and it shows respect.
And now we‘re waiting for a movie about John Britten.
Kasper Kjærsgaard... yes please.
Roger Donaldson would be the Man for That Job!
A movie about John Britten would be the only movie I reckon that can equal Mr Munroe👍 that and another kiwi, Bruce McLaren👍
Hell yes!!!
This movie will become a cult favorite . Anyone that's has race understands you live more and five seconds than some people do in their whole lives by the statement but it's very true
One of these days I'm going to get a poster printed at Bert working on that motorcycle with his "Dirty Old Men Need Love Too" for in my shop.
At last a movie everyone can enjoy about real people living life to the full ! Thank you all for a great movie !
Anthony Hopkins acted a wonderful part in portraying Burt.....Brilliant Movie that is far more than a movie about motorcycles and breaking records, and winning etc. A superb watch, based on a truly unique individual with an incredible outlook/attitude to life and how to live it.....your own way. Epic stuff.
Brought back memories of my grandfather. He built engines that would go like hell and put them in undeserving chassis. 1971 chevy nomad wagon that would lift the front wheels off the ground. I was about 10 on the back his 1960 bmw and i knew we were going fast. I peeked over his shoulder, helmet flew back, eyelids were flapping, but i could see on the speedo we were over 100. We got to a stop, he looked scared and said dont tell your grandma, she will kill me.
My father detested the fakery of Hollywood. This is the only DVD he owned.
In my mind the best movie ever made.
No doubt about it. :)
8 years later, what you think about it now?
I've worn out 4 dvd's of this movie so far. I would have to WHOLLY agree with you.
@@klewchur9926 Still a solid Top-10.
The only movie when it finished i sat right through the credits waiting desperately for the film to carry on, thank you roger and bert. GO SEE IT.
Brings happy tears to my eyes every. time.
Top 10, Brilliant movie 😎 Greetings from NZ😁
If you don't follow your dreams you might as well be a vegetable....I have the CD and when I get that urge that I want to watch a good movie it always fills that void.
Fantastic. Now give us one on John Britten.
it’s best movie I have seen have adopted the type of passion. When I feel it’s hard going .. I watch and listen to the title music which I have in my iPhone ..
thanks for giving this movie to world 🙏🏼
a great story and a great movie.
I have this on DVD. Watched it last night. Watching it again tonight. Great story... Don Quixote achieving the Impossible Dream.
I loved this movie, anyone coming up with solutions to problems by thinking outside the box. It really annoys me to no end when someone says "you can't do it that way because no one has ever done it that way before."
I am a scientist working on time travel possibilities. It may sound whack to others but that's just it. I would love to go back and see Burt setting the land speed record. I would like to meet him.
Just because someone hasn't done something doesn't mean it cannot be done. That was Burt's way of thinking and it is mine as well. Although time travel sounds like sci fi, it really isn't.
@@scottcupp8129 Sasquatch cant exist. City folks dont see any.
Am I the only older guy who found the barmaid with the fly swatter, hot ?
This man is a speacial breed if you need to find out what is passion and never to give up since he was 21yrs old see this movie its an extreem short film but you will understand who he was and inspire your life in any way you choose it . Yes its about a man and his motorcycle but it says allot more than you think please watch and you will be inspired like you have never been! It might just change your life in the way you think about life in gen.🤯
One more thing, that sound when those marshals are checking out burts skill and his machine and he clicks it into second or third and opens the throttle sweet music I never heard a four stroke sound that sweet...I got misty wit joy....
A fine job... I'll have to watch it again soon...
Thank you for sharing. Most importantly for preserving a legend and dreams all over the world. Our dreams can be shut down everywhere we look. But only a few really inspire and encourage others. Imagine?
i dnt wana b a cabbage. ur movie brings me up frm the deepest state of mind.
all i can say, I CAN DO IT.
LOVE U FOR THE MOVIE U MADE
My favorite movie. Really inspiring too.
The best movie ever made.... Exceptional performance by Anthony Hopkins...
Life challenges all of us again and again.... WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART??...
Maybe Life aligns with our Perserverance and Commitment.
We are all uplifted by the telling of Burt's story. BRAVO.
A real story told with authenticity of a real hero....
I believe Burt was fearless and his car driving overtaking could be terrifying for passengers...
If there ever was an uplifting story, it was told in this picture.
Loved Every thing about This.
U live 5 minutes on that motorcycle ,more than most people live in a life time or on any motorcycle for that matter,I missed that line a couple of times and I love taken a bike and wring it out to see what u and it have...most people think Bonneville is like drag racing just stand on it and go,Burt was saying at 160 the bike was jumping thru air borne 5 foot touching the ground and leaving and he said he knew he was gonna die if he didn't keep it straight. The biggest thing about Bonneville is tires, that's 8 miles of flat out that a long way, with the throttle pinned...pretty smart guy he was though he went right after the wheels on the old bike making his own spokes and upgrading and keeping his ears open to technology and materials ,who's that guy the rocket guy,Vonbraun I bet Burt and him would have a lot to talk about...thanks I got u one new fan a motorcycle junkie, who ain't seen the movie but he's checking it out ,probably had already, he was disbelief of the age of the Indian,he don't know about the founders,history.....hah hah
If you haven't seen it you should because it is just damn good.
Hopkins played another legendary speedster, Donald Campbell. It's very hard to find (though I think it might be on CZcams), but the film is called Across the Lake and is every bit as good as The World's Fastest Indian.
Everyone has a story, some are greater then others . push yourself , live the dream , have a great story, you only have one life.
what a man and movie
A true hearo for people and kids to look up to
thanks for posting loved the story and move along with all the real phiotos and video's of him
Everyone loves the underdog
Awesome movie about a Great character. My book Champion also needs to be made into a movie about a memorable character :)
Ah, Kiwis. But let us not forget Burt Munro's Scottish ancestry. One of his ancestors, mountaineer Sir Hugh Muro, decided to list all the mountains in Scotland over 3000 feet in height - and then proceeded to climb them, all but one.
Absolute kiwi legend
New Zealand crew working for an Australian director. Says it all.
I will watch this again!
Burt Munroe - 201.851 MPH
@ 3:35 New Zealanders "They can and DOo DoO!!" MWHAHAHAHAHA
One of the best movie
My life's inspiration. He brings me up evrytime i feel down.
You make all Kiwis proud Bert
Thanks for this most special movie

Love your comment. Rock and Roll!
Hope you are still watching the good movies and enjoying life, Mike....
Bester Motorrad Film den es gibt. Gab es mal als Zugabe bei der Computerbild.
The real mayor of Invercargill was in the movie hes pretty well known throughout the hole of New Zealand. Even before the movie old Tim Shadbolt hes abit of a corrector like Burt Munro.
I believe he was to one who pointed out Burt's flat tire, wasn't he?
Awesome film !
How can you not love this movie, looking at the down thumbs I can see there is plenty of dead in the head with no hearts ,. Probably flat earthers, this is a master piece movie
My mate Runjhod is 167 kg! He is the worlds fatest Indian!
こんなに気持ち良い

Definitely, one of the kind bike, love the story behind it all!!
The Movie puts Cargill New Zeeland on the map. is only 1 of the few bike show that grabs your mind to twit your throttle hands to reeve up your own imaginary bike /
🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥 We used to have a Marijuana plant on the side of our shop back in the 70s that we used to piss on daily.
The sucker was over 7 feet tall before we had to take it down 🥴🥴🥴
Actually thats probably true. In my experiance Kiwi males arn't usually bothered with posing and posturing, status is gainned through deeds and actions. Though i have to say that swearing isn't what would piss them off, its the fact that its directed at somone without due reason.
Also we tend to root for the underdogs.
Over here in England, all the Kiwis I have met have been very down to earth. No trouble integrating with us lol. The Kiwi women are cool 😊👍
People who can dodo? Must be a big seller in the outback, no refrigeration...
We are a cabbage if we dont follow thru
Not km, miles per hour. Much faster.
Fantastic movie - but really not what I would consider "the making of". Thats just clickbaity!!
I will make the pilgrimage to invercargil one day
Some idiot took this uniques motorcycle and renovated it so it lost all patina and looks new. Sad!
Isn’t 100mlh 160kmh ruffly?
Yes.
160.934 to be exact.
A kiwi did fly...
I couldn't watch this anymore when I heard a similar voice narration to the constant BS voice of main stream media in Australia. I loved the movie for sure, but the msn is pouring poison in to my ear every opportunity they have.
Literally nothing in this is about making the movie.
I think you missed the point of the movie!
The fastest indian....??that would be the one that outran all of her brothers.
Oh, I was expecting an Indian Dude that runs very fast, kinda disappointed, it's just a motorcycle...
The Rocketman part at the end got me. 🥲.
Thank you Roger Donaldson 🙏
