IDW did return to the Hearts of Steel storyline for the second Infestation crossover. Infestation 2 was based around the work of Lovecraft, which came into public domain that year. 2 issues of the crossover were devoted to Transformers, and from what I remember, you can read those as a standalone adventure. You could possibly get the whole crossover as 2 paperbacks. I hope you get a chance to read it if you've missed it.

God, that Windows Movie Maker-ish intro was SO indicative of an era! By the way, your little speech at the start has convinced me to try and make it to 2023. I've fallen off the Transformers bandwagon over the last year, but it's the friendliest fan community anyone could wish for. I'd never consider going to any other convention barring TFNation, everyone just seems very lovely. Glad you lot all enjoyed it!

Tensou Sentai Goseiger - and thus Power Rangers Megaforce - has a snake-train. It forms Gosei Great's legs. The mech wasn't really reamed for PR, either, being dubbed the "Gosei Great Megazord".
I found the panel with Andy Couzens a little disappointing, he had a hand in designing the very last Transformers and nobody asked him about where the idea of light piping came from since those Transformers were the first to have it. Had a chat with him on Sunday morning and he is an absolute delight to talk to, hope we see him at TFNation again in the future for a more in depth look at some of the toys he helped design
@@SoloWing88 Yeah, I asked him Sunday morning, Takara had recently released another toyline that had featured clear plastic in a similar manner and were interested in finding a way to integrate it into the new Transformers that were being designed. Windows were obvious but the use of it for eyes was the revelation. Pink and green were chosen as they were the most vibrant and eye catching.
I was there too over the weekend and, yeah, Moxie hotel existing (and cutting off previously used paths) was quite a surprise. Did not stay long as I was staying in a hard to get to hotel, but... everything felt smaller than in years past.
Funnily enough, I recently encouraged a TF pal of mine to grab a GDO Wheelie. He wasn't in the stage to actually play with his stuff...till he got that and thanked me.
I probably cannot justify flying all the way to the UK from the Midwest US just to go to a Transformers convention and spend even more money...but man does TF Nation sound like an absolute dream for me. One day.
Had the first of two smaller local toy collector's conventions today, and managed to pick up a Pirate Lion/White Leo without weapon and with working rubsign (water) for $10, a RiD2017 Strongarm with her weapon and a full Toyhax sticker treatment also for $10, and a G1 Crankcase for $1! ...plus the $5 plus shipping and handling for replacement stickers. His guns don't seem to want to stay down and one is mildly cosmetically broken (the smaller top part of the blaster), but for a dollar, heck of a find. Next week is ToyMan Show....
That Energon Ironhide is _mostly_ complete. He's got both car doors and the gun with the spring mechanic inside, but he's supposed to have another gun on the other side of the head. It's small, and tan, but it's also not a huge deal.
With the news of the latest GI Joe cross over and that sergeant slaughter 3T or whatever it's called, I could see them turning it into that Kup alternate tanker guy.
