That diving is fun to watch. I saw a couple of male Allen’s HBs having a “dive off” one morning. They were doing fancy J-dives. “I’m the handsomest!” “No, I’m the handsomest!”

Looks like he’s hunting insects. They need them during nesting season.
Never heard it sing, it chirped but it sure never sang! Next time perhaps say, only hummer with some purple feathers?
