Also, apparently the personality we see on stream is highly exaggerated and the real Laplus is actually very kind hearted according to the girls that have met her. She's even slipped up a few times on stream and has been sweet and had to jump back into her kusogaki persona quickly and save face
I'm not gonna say you're wrong, because hey none of us truly know what's going on behind the scenes, but in my opinion they seemed far too happy and comfortable for it to be anything but banter.

Tbh I'm a bit relieved now lol, because all of what you said makes a lot of sense.
I am maybe too quick to jump to these conclusions based on my own experiences. I personally can see someone in a certain constellation of bad circumstances (dependencies, can't move out, ..) playing along with a toxic situation and it semeing as genuine and natual as it did here, because letting anything show would lead to more stress so you kind of perfect it..
But I also know that this is far from the norm, and what you have suggested is probably the far more likely scenario.

to me she was totally justified in what she said. boundaries need to be set, then respected. I think some viewers forget that the Vtuber they are watching is a person too, with feelings, insecurities...ect. teasing can be fun, but when it goes too far and the streamers is uncomfortable, then for goodness sake JUST STOP! there is a saying that goes "read the room". okay I have vented enough.
The fact that some people even have to question if this is justified or not is sad.
