Yes I have been there. I am so grateful and thankful to God that I took a break. Sometimes we just keep pushing our selves to do things just because and that is not fair to me nor my clients to half do their events. I felt the passion fading away and I listened to it. I'm so grateful because now that fire that I had to do balloons has really came back full force. I love that God has created a way for me to continue to learn my craft and pour into my business like never before. I realize now that I want to give to my business but I also don't want to give so much that I don't enjoy my life or my family. I think that as business owners, we forget to have fun making memories.
God didn't create us to rely on ourselves. One of my favorite scriptures that I constantly use is Proverbs 3:5-8. I believe in this business is that we always over spend, especially when you have a creative mind you're always thinking of new items and pieces to add. Start to delegating task to others. If you're able to hire a virtual assistant that specializes in the event industry. They can manage all your social media platforms, website and more

WOW, seems you've read my story!! I am at the point to begin to photograph all of my inventory to post everything for sell. My business has never really taken flight to that "I've arrived" stage so I'm not surprised I'm considering waving the white flag. This area is just so saturated with event decorators and with my advanced age, it's becoming more and more difficult to manage the weight of pipe & drapes and all that goes with making a space beautiful. This year has been very slow for my business but I don't consider that a fail. When I started my business in 2018 I promised God that I'm going to ride the wave, enjoy every moment good or bad and use this journey as an ongoing learning experience. We seem to have had the exact same struggles this year. Losing passion and I think it's partly because of overspending on Events trying to please clients. Had to come to terms if they didn't pay for it, they can't get it. I'm also a homeowner and single mom of two daughters AND working a full time job. Just a lot. I think I told people I was quitting every other week Lol. Just gotta regroup and revamp. Next year will be different..in a GOOD WAY!🙏🏾
2023 was a rough year for my business. I also wondered if it was time to quit. It’s hard wearing so many hats when you just want to decorate but don’t have the resources to pay a team. I feel like I enjoyed things more when I didn’t have to focus consistently on creating content on social media to try to get new business. Hey you have so much talent and I completely understand. I have been there. God told me to redo alot of things in my business and I did step away for a while to do other things. We have to take breaks because we are human. Yes you do have to post to get business but also take breaks and don't get burned out. You are so right my passion changed where I don't do balloons anymore for client's only for my kids. God is always there and we can go to him anytime. It's difficult being a mom, a business owner, and so many other things but God is doing a New Thing. Keep up the Amazing work❤🎉

Loooooooooooooord Preach I've been in this business since 2020, & when I tell you BUSINESS has evolved so much even a bank told me, I had to have social media platforms....they meant that, then I was told I needed to post regularly to even be considered for a small business loan....I was in shock...so I FEEL YOU it sucks the fun right out of what we love, along with the lack of consideration the average person thinks balloon decor should cost...especially when they only want the best of the best for what most of us spend on materials alone for their event. I love the honesty because like yourself this is a full-time business that I run by myself as well, the struggle is real but YOU ARE SUCH A MENTOR & BLESSING to us all! You will get your worth & have success beyond measure...2024 we knocking down all closed doors believe it & receive it 🙏!

Do not give up based on something that has not happened! There's so much to focus on in this industry and know your strengths and focus on that in your business. Since this industry is always changing don't shy away from continuing education. No matter what have a tight contract, payment method method in place and stand on that contract+

We get sooo busy with the business until we really forget what’s important. I thank God for His grace and The Holy Spirit who lives inside of me. He also surrounds me with people to remind me to stay connected to Him and He will give us all that we need to be successful. My go to is Joshua 1:8 and Proverbs 3:5-6 Those are just a few. Baby I decorate,but I always had a 20-25hr job.just in case .I requested thre weekend off they was fine with that after explaining I do weekend decor... so that money makes up for the slow moments and I stay above water...❤ wish I was close to collaborate we be a heck of a team

We are creative in our decorating, so now we have to be creative with taking our business to the next level. I was told I can't do it all, so I have to pay someone to do more things. My aunt is the exact same way...she spends so much on client decorations. She ends up broke after all is done because she wanted it to look perfect. I tell her Auntie stop! Don't buy so much expensive things. Make them yourself, or keep your items. Enough is enough, lol. Stop spending thousands on a wedding and the client has not paid you yet. This is my fear when doing this. I don't want to be broke. I want to make plenty of profit.

Hey I just wanted to let you know to always keep your focus on God for his words says Isaiah 40:31 [31] but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Keep your head up and focus on God and he will do the rest for you Because sometimes the devil always try to confuse us in many ways.
i don't want to be selfish but we are giving a lot of information out there for free with these so call diy. that is crashing the industry so bad. very bad. All of my colleagues in the industry rarely gets bookings this days. i think it will even gets worse in the upcoming years. it all diy.
Clients who don’t want to pay always want the most expensive WOW factor! They want a 8k look on a 1k budget
There was ALOT of that in 2023. The unrealistic budgets was very frustrating. That’s why I just put my prices on my website to help alleviate that.

Thank you for sharing and being so transparent. Truth is, I am in the same boat when it comes to spending and passion. It’s tough sometimes. We get sooo busy with the business until we really forget what’s important. I thank God for His grace and The Holy Spirit who lives inside of me. He also surrounds me with people to remind me to stay connected to Him and He will give us all that we need to be successful.
My go to is Joshua 1:8 and Proverbs 3:5-6

Baby I decorate,but I always had a 20-25hr job.just in case .I requested thre weekend off they was fine with that after explaining I do weekend decor... so that money makes up for the slow moments and I stay above water...❤ wish I was close to collaborate we be a heck of a team

We are creative in our decorating, so now we have to be creative with taking our business to the next level. I was told I can't do it all, so I have to pay someone to do more things. Videos, editing, finances, and more. I'm figuring it out, though.

My aunt is the exact same way...she spends so much on client decorations. She ends up broke after all is done because she wanted it to look perfect. I tell her Auntie stop! Don't buy so much expensive things. Make them yourself, or keep your items. Enough is enough, lol. Stop spending thousands on a wedding and the client has not paid you yet. This is my fear when doing this. I don't want to be broke. I want to make plenty of profit.
