OH MY GOSH!!! KUDOS to your daughter for being so calm and controlled while driving in all that SNOW!! This old Desert Rat was holding her breath and shaking in her boots the entire time. Now I wish I could do it just to overcome my fear of it and learn how to drive in those conditions. But, at 70+ yrs and living in a desert, I doubt that would happen. BUT, I can watch you and your family as you live my dream of living in Alaska. You all are so blessed with so much. I truly love how close your entire family are, supportive and encouraging for each other, and the tremendous amount of love and respect. That all comes from great parents that set the example and good parenting skills. Stay happy and enjoying every second you can because it seems like a blink of an eye and they are scattered to far off places living their dreams. God Bless and Protect you all!

It was 1974 thru 1977. 5 families from Myrtle Creek, Oregon live there and logged. Others as well. Best time of my life. I was 19 now 68. Retired in Vegas living near my oldest . I so enjoy your videos. Just found you a week or so ago. I have the most hilarious and odd stories of that time in my life. All my best. L

My dad did the same with my sisters and I. He explained driving techniques all the time. We drove on ice more than snow though. Talk about stressful! Aaron is a good dad, and her brothers are good to her too!! Kodie is a really good driver, and I am sure she absolutely appreciates her dad for teaching her how to drive correctly in the snow/ice. Great skill to have! The mountain range is so beautiful! Lovely drive to town. I love how Aaron helps out the neighbors around you; especially the older ones and single woman. Good man. OMG she’s so brave, I’m a retired school bus driver and always said no to snow driving training. We live 1 hour away from the snow resorts, it’s safer in the flat lands. Great job for her for driving in it.

Hi sweet one! Another 16 inches of snow...wow! I never hear Aaron complain about any of that hard work clearing snow...what a hard-working, gracious man you married! Yes, Aaron...I hope you read this! I mean every word of it! Kodie seems unfazed by the task of driving in that snow. I would be terrified!!!! The scenery there is just breathtaking. I love to see the moose. I live in Connecticut and it was a couple years ago we had a moose run in front of my yard. I didn’t see it at the time. My neighbor posted a picture on Facebook with the caption “what is a moose doing in the yard across the street? That’s when I saw it. I saw a picture and I was home at the time too. I totally missed it. Lol

It’s hard to believe we have no snow here in the south central Nebraska! It covered about 1/3 of the state in the western panhandle. The amount of snow wasn’t so out of the normal , but the 45/50 mph winds for 5 days causing it to be blizzard & was impossible for the snow plows to open the 2 Interstates. This afternoon is the first day I 80 to Wyoming has been open to traffic. Most State & county roads are not open. Tomorrow the winds are to drop to 20mph! I most snow I heard was Chadron with 30”. My oldest granddaughter & her family live in Gering & she was sending pictures of the drifts!! 💜

The couple at Simple Living Alaska had a high tunnel . They live near Willow, AK. They had to remove snow from the high tunnel all the time but that worked for 4 years.

Aaron sounds like my dad did. I could drive any vehicle in any weather, thanks to his early army days as a tank instructor, prior to his deployment to Korea.
Your description of that foggy morning causes me pause!! I am plagued with claustrophobia and when we get socked in a cloud, I have to get away from the windows!

Hi Jessica! I don't watch TV, but years ago I picked up the reality show "Alaska the Last Frontier" online. The family (the Kilcher family) was on a multi-generational homestead, and one couple on the homestead had a high tunnel and it looked like they used it a lot. They produced a lot of food. They were/are on the Kenai peninsula if memory serves. Might want to reference the show to see what they did....I think I got it off iTunes....? Maybe you can find it on CZcams.

Wow! I thought 50 inches of rain in 3 days during hurricane Harvey was wicked. Daughter love never stops no matter the age. We gave our grown kids a combo glass break/seatbelt cutter tool in case they drive into water.

Jessica, Did Alaska have a dry summer? Well, you will have a wet spring with all that melting snow! Your water tables will so increase for sure! 😉 Here in the middle of Pennsylvania. We just got through a day of sleet and ice with a small amount of snow. So today was chipping off the ice. I just got my two propane 100 gallon tanks filled on Wednesday. 144 gallons filled me up for a couple more months. I bought my propane during the late spring. I got it at $2.89 per gallon.

Hello glad your day went so good today. Mine not so good lol. Our dog Willow decided to go out at 12:30 This morning well Frank was going to wash his hands and no water. Our water isn't frozen but some mechanical thing we guess. Called the plumber this morning they can't come till Monday. So glad for the snow lol melting it on the wood burning stove to take sponge baths and flush toilets lol😅😁😣 God works in mysterious ways. Without snow no flushing toilets lol.
