- In this video essay, I try to share my love for the Western genre and the films of Sergio Leone by breaking down what makes his duel's so iconic and exciting. I talk about his 4 Spaghetti Westerns (A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Once Upon a Time in The West) ranging from topics like Ennio Morricone's music to the films of John Ford.
I hope you enjoy the video :)

What's your favourite Leone film?
It tends to switch based on what I’ve most recently watched.
Knew the face, didn't know the name! Il have to rewatch some of his stuff. Great vid and very insightful as always!
Once Upon A Time in the West for me. But it's a tough choice!
I haven't seen Once Upon a Time in the West. But I think so far my favorite from his is Good Bad and Ugly. Great video!
Once Upon a Time in the West. Love all of them but this movie has a special spot in my heart. My favorite western though is Old Henry
The closest that has come to matching a Sergio Leone-esque type of storytelling is not even a film or TV show. It's Red Dead Redemption 2. Everything about that game is soaked in Sergio Leone.
very true! writing this video kept making me want to play the game again haha.
@@Essential_Cinema I replay it once a year because it’s one of my favorite games of all time.
