- I've tried quite a few ready roasts over the years and they have ranged from average to excellent, so let's see what we get from Morrisons...

Hi Papparoni, another excellent review here in this Morrisons product - 9 out of 10 is a really good score and it was good to see a Roast Beef ready meal get such a high score ! I have to say it looked delightful and I must get involved at some point - thank you for bringing this to our attention ! have a great Friday Mate :-)
No worries mate, indeed this is one of the better ones out there :)
Ah i'm glad you enjoyed this Paps! I think this is my favourite roast beef ready meal out there you know and I think I even prefer it over the Waitrose one (you reviewed it not too long ago though I can't remember what score you gave it) and yep it is indeed the gravy on this one which steals the show along with the rest of the meal being really good also. This of course does not fit it my air fryer so I just improvise and air fry the spuds and Yorkshire pudding and microwave the rest, despite the fact this weirdly enough has no microwave instructions. I shall definitely be getting re-involved with this one again at some point!😋
Many thanks for the heads up Mr Atkinson. I really enjoyed this as you saw, as regards no micro instructions, maybe it's because they advertise the Yorkshire pudding as being crisp, and in order for that to happen, it has to be oven cooked :)
@Papparoni you know what I never really thought of that, good shout! 😄
I. Bought four slices made a dinner ,just to see,my hubby loved it.i will get hin one of these ,oh champion 🏆 the wonderhorse was brilliant x thank you
3:35 Grimace!
Now that is a half decent roast beef dinner. Nothing pretending to be or wanna be with this one. 9 outta 10 ttlb is a great score for any readymade conscience meal. I'd be keeping a few of these for a rainy day.
Nice feed and review Papp.
Cheers 👍🤤😀
I had to look Grimace up, top stuff mate :)
9/10 from Papps for a ready roast! Wow it must be good!
I’ve had this meal before. I thought it was quality, I really enjoyed it. Probably the best ready meal roast I’ve had tbh
It surprised me how good it was
That sounds good because it's decent and you get the 400g and not the 350g which seems to be the new rip off. Imagine the old days of preparing the veg and all of the faff plus the energy costs now, then it's a winner dinner. Champion the wonder horse, good to see the tune played in colour paps, as I only ever remember it in black and white 😊
Indeed these ready roasts do take away a lot of faffing about, and great point regarding Champion, I'd only heard it in black and white before now as well :)
Very impressive for a ready meal. Good food technology at play here.
I quite agree Chris.
Ooooh Yeah!... Now we're talking Papp... 😋Finally you've found a very good 9/10 ready meal my friend... And although at £3.75... This Morrisons Roast Beef Dinner is all of the money... However... You're actually getting a good quality product for the money... As usually these ready meals will have quite hard Vegetables... Chewy Beef Slices in a weak and watery Gravy... With soggy Roast Potatoes and Yorkshire Puddings... So it makes a pleasant change to see a decent quality ready meal pal... Many thanks for the review Papp... It's very much appreciated my friend... All the very best... Cheers mate. 🍺
Thanks Rick, yes it makes a pleasant change to get a good ready meal :)
I will definitely try this when my freezers have a bit of space or If I can plan to eat it straightaway. Because the boxes are a bit big on these meals. I have two fridge/freezers and a chest freezer that are permanently full of mostly cooking ingredients and my sons chickens. I just can't seem to free up any space in them. I used to quite like the frozen portions of Morrisons beef slices in gravy but I had to stir a bit of salt into the gravy. Great review Pappa 👍
Aren't your son's chickens a bit cold in the freezer Emily :D
@@Papparoni 🤣
My sons like these type of meals. Generally Waitrose or Ocado, so interested! / Ha! Wonder horse takes me back errr a few decades !! / I think this is another option for the boys !! / Mark.
I see your boys have good taste, like it :)
Hi Pappy I never buy these pre made meals but some of them do look rather nice n pet shop boys have a new album out I've not heard it yet I think it's great there still making music.😊
Oh wow thank you so much for alerting me to that Wayne, one of my favourite bands :D
The only way to make any of these ready meals worth the money is if they come with a ceramic plate and a metal knife and fork.
Only you Edward, and perhaps a waiter as well :)
TBH, that is an amazing price. X4 I couldn’t make a roast dinner for 4 at that price. Agreed homemade is better but if you live alone, cooking a roast really is not cost effective.
You could have played 'Champion the Wonder Horse' when reviewing some of those beef lasagnes (a few years in the past this was)
Hahaa, yes that would've been perfect Nigel
£3.75 ! Not a bad effort indeed,I would be happy to do away with the yorkie and one of the roasters for another slice of beef, nice amount of gravy and some fresh tasting vegetable action going on,fair play Morrisons, but give us more meat 😋
I agree mate, a decent effort but stingy action meatwise :)
The way you say the word tray tickles me every time. 😂😂
Blame SteveMRE! :D
@@Papparoni 😂😂 nice!
9/10...high praise indeed Pap !
Indeed that gravy puts this one high on my list Mike :)
My parents would enjoy this 👍
Time to splash out and treat them then eh Sarah :)
@@Papparoni yes definitely 👍
Looked decent for a supermarket meal Papps.
Indeed I've had a lot worse Trevor
Had one sunday and it was lovely
Good stuff mate, I'll be having another for sure..
Certainly don't get much for £3.75 pap. You certainly need some extras on the side too. Can't believe how small the beef slices were.
A bit of cabbage on the side would suit me Ashleigh, and yes, as with most ready roasts, the meat content is usually rather skimpy :)
@@Papparoni Love a bit of wee cabbage. Especially white cabbage yummo 😋. High five 🙏
A bit of Scottish there eh Ashleigh, and I love white cabbage too, either steamed with a roast, or in a doner kebab :)
@@Papparoni Mmmm yummy. I was born & raised in Edinburgh ❤
Oh yes, a top city, went there once :)
Looks good but i spotted maltodextrin in the ingredients which is a big nope for me. Can ya tell im prediabetic lol. Great review as always papp.
Cheers jay. I was told the same a couple of years ago so changed my diet and I'm ok now :)
Was the tune kind of saying it was horse meat? Or totally coincidence? There must b checks to make sure it’s the animal they say it is. Once in nz I ate cat passed off as chicken. True story. I thought the meal was ok if u lived in a nursing home.
It did run through my mind as we had the horse meat rubbish with those lasagne a while back, so nice one for thinking the same.
@@Papparoni I doubt it was but I doubt a lot, my friends say I’m para.
I think I’m probably right
Nope I’m not. Horse meat is more expensive than beef so it’s probably dog
