One of my favourite drummers of all time but on this album he's definitely lightened up his playing in favor of the groove. Maybe because of the three piece or it's just age, i don't know. The early stuff was much more technical and jazz oriented. Like, just listen Stone a Pig or Grim Reefer or Satan's Calling. He, Brann Dailor and Chris Pennie are the standouts on Relapse Records. From my perspective, no one close.

I would get hiccups if I tried to make sounds like that. Love the matamp/LP combo

Honestly, would be worth it. I saw them last night and it has changed my life. The way their amps hit you with those huge crushing riffs is just unlike anything else I've experienced. I had a dream after the show where they were shooting energy from their glowing rigs.
