Haven't had much excitement this last 7 years. Let's hope for a positive change this time, but I can't say I'm too optimistic given we're starting the season with Niall Ennis as our only fit striker. Really poor on the recruitment front and disappointing to see we got rid of Jared Dublin.

Completely agree.
Getting rid of Jared Dublin was ridiculous. He he travelled the world and spotted players like Junho, Vidigal, Jojic, Chiquinho, Manhoef and Bocat (who arrived after he'd left.). Real flair players. The current head of recruitment prefers to shop around for unwanted cast-offs from the likes of Blackburn.

I try to have a positive mindset going into a new season, I just can’t with this club. why the hell do we always leave it late during the transfer window?

We want results. We want progress. Trying 100% and failing isn't acceptable and won't be tolerated by fans. It's disturbing that we haven't made the signings we needed to ahead of the start of the season. A few months back the narrative was that we would make those signings early, get a pre-season into those players, the squad could gel, we'd be better, stronger etc etc. But we go into the season looking not too different from last term - and still hunting siginings. I am not convinced. I am not hopeful. There is something seriously wrong at the club. And there has been for a good while now. JW was a great player for Stoke but his approach to his new role gets alarm bells ringing. His statements sound like he's morphed into a typical bet365 a**hole middle manager. I want to hear JW - not on-message corporate bullshit speak. I'm not convinced SS was enamoured with JW's appointment. I hear there's a lot of politics back stage. There always is when you deal with the Coates family. They've got a lot of money and no doubt they do want to succeed - but they're like aliens. They have zero people skills. They don't understand people. They can't communicate properly. People are just functionaires to them. Factotums. That's why there's no real warnth at the club. No spirit. No sense of a club that's really together. Ask people who work there. Prediction 1: we lose tomorrow to Coventry. Prediction 2: SS is out of a job before Christmas. Prediction 3: we're in for another relagattion battle - along with all the old excuses that weve heard for the last 7 years.
