- Honestly there is so much food in the lower levels you'll do fine. This is a wonderful location for people who want to have someplace in the downtown core but don't want to travel far. Also the Baseball Bat Factory has all the bats you need.

Zomboid is never gonna die, the hype, the mods, the fans. I genuinely think its going to be skyrim level value throughout the course of the next 5/10 years. I love these videos, they remind me of my first playthroughs haha
I don't want to be "that guy" but I've owned Project Zomboid since the "Pixel days". If you know PZ history, there was a "stolen laptop incident", I had my copy before then. I also picked up Minecraft from Notch for five bucks back in the day, and it was Minecraft's updates and growth that made me buy PZ and trust in it in the first place.
Project Zomboid and Minecraft are both older to me than Skyrim, which I made sure to pick up on 11/11/11. I stopped playing Oblivion and Fallout: New Vegas to play these games instead. (I still play FO:NV)
So not only can I assure you that Project Zomboid is going to last as long as Skyrim, I am living proof people have played it for that long too. 1904.3 hours on Steam and counting.
(Funny how both games are popular for their modding scene too, which greatly extended both PZ and TES)
@Damien Darkside lol I got the collectors edition of skyrim on 11.11.11 as well, and I'm honestly embarrassed to admit my zomboid play time considering I only started playing like a year or 2 ago it's at 2,113 😂

the art gallery is a lovely touch:) my biggest fear (if we can call it that) is if an apocalypse would break out we would loose all our knowledge and all the art, all that hard work for nothing. im glad there will be at least a few humans left to adore the pasts creators
I think the same thing. I've noticed that once humans are mostly content with their lives, they start making art. So maybe after the apocalypse "dies down" persay, and humans have some spare time, they create something.
Plus a few artistic people will survive, make art pieces or some form of expression during The Fall.
I found a really cool Annotated Map last night where the curator of the Lousiville Museum wrote a note asking someone to go there to help preserve the art and humanity. She was nice enough to point out a car full of weapons nearby that can be used for the mission. I'm definitely going there first when I head to LV in this playthrough if I dont die prior.
I don’t know the exact place, but near the top left of the map there is a very small gas station. I usually try to set up there since it’s pretty far from all the zombies, plus I have easy access to gas once I need it. It’s also got a pretty big parking lot for most your vehicles / empty space for building. One more thing is that it’s pretty close to the river, so there is access to a water source. 9/10 would recommend

I love the rooftop art gallery, If there is any place I could recommend for a flip, it would be the Military Surplus store in the middle of nowhere, south of the sleepaway camp. Love the vid

@Peniley Majorey There is a lot of grass around the Store meaning you dont need to farm just to break even (although you really never should farm just to break even) plus there is, I believe, 2 Resturants and 3 or 2 produce stores within walking distance, Also, clearing of hordes isnt much of an issue as A: it is fairly low pop, and B: Its a store full of military equipment, Axes, Knives and Guns galore.
If you want to live in the middle of nowhere, I suggest you go to the abandoned factory in the top left of the map
Very nice place to set up base, but clear that building is not easy job, 1 chose one near baseball stadium, clear that with 2 character die, and 2 more just to find the way secure the building, but now i live like a king

Game takes place in 1993, you bet your ass we have those plastic cases of Disney VHS up in this apartment. The zombies are attracted by the "COMING SOON TO OWN ON VHS/HOME VIDEO" being several times louder than the video.

Honestly that's the best part of it, long term gameplay. Surprisingly a lot of what you see here comes from this apartment building itself. It was the arcade machines and the military equipment that would give you trouble for a long time.

I've been looking for good PZ base videos, these are it! I enjoy using a cheat mod and going into creative mode and just building bases.

Usually do like to have a long-term secondary location when I'm streaming PZ (I do a few games). My usual settings are 3xZomB with a 1.5x peak, 0 grouping so they form nice big hordes. You can see the hordes it makes in the Close Call video. I don't play with lethal bites, as you can even see in these videos my character doesn't move smoothly 100% of the time with clear button presses.
I am 100% confident you can do this as the long-term place you live in. Not the first, but second. I do like to move sometimes.
EDIT: I turn zombies off so I don't have to clear the blood off the walls. These videos take a bit of time to set up as is, corpse movement would just add time and tediousness that my ADHD ass is going to burn out on.
Great video man! One idea I had was maybe you could knock down a couple of the outer walls on the bottom floor and replace them with wide gates! So you could drive vehicles in to work on them safely
That might be a consideration in the next build...
I hate living in high-rises in pz, because it’s time consuming to transport loots.
My favorite base location is actually the fishing dock to the west of West Point. Living on the ground floor and over the water, having woods nearby, city center just few blocks away, almost equal distance to Muldraugh, Louisville and riverside, is prime real estate.
Plus it’s on the coast, meaning going in and out of town is rather safe even if you don’t clear out most of zeds and you’re playing against splinters. Just drive along the coast.
I only choose non ground floor base if I play splinter + horde night.
That's awesome! I personally adore the idea of living in a penthouse suite and did so for Zomboid for a long time with West Point and a few mods. That's one of the many reasons I love this game so much, people have so many different ways of living out the apocalypse. Some like wilderness homes, some like penthouses, some like industrial spaces with plenty of access to escape.

I grew up as a teen when those movies came out. "Runners" threw wrenches into my friend's plans for the Apocalypse.

When you've played 1000+hrs of Zomboid, your boomer ass learns a few things to keep yourself alive. I usually play with 3x zombie spawns, so I know you guys can do it in vanilla! Just remember that you walk faster than fast shamblers can shamble. Knowing that fact and gaining confidence in zombie slaying changed my gameplay for the better.

watched the other 2 flipping episodes for multiplayer ideas, this one is by far my favorite but instead of just the one floor we will be doing all the floors, 1 for 1 player
As a heads up, you might have to tear down a wall, build it, and replaster it for painting if the paint option hates your tile. I had to do that with one wall in the lower left side (Bedroom)

Honestly, playing the game too much! I came up with the idea for the series by seeing other people do it for Animal Crossing and the like, and figured "Huh, I have made a few 'good' homes in Zomboid..."

when they add elevators im gonna have an entire apartment as one of my homes.. at the momment its a little too much because you need to walk like 7 floors to get to the base and drop the loot

Aza's Flags and Posters, I think they are two separate mods. Been a hot minute since I checked my list.

The generator powers up the whole building or only the last floor?
The floor it's on and +/- 2 floors. So The roof, Top floor, and the one beneath it have power. Make sure you turn off all lights and destroy/move all unused fridges in apartment buildings. Otherwise massive power drain.

I don't mean to be snarky, but "lol I dunno". My best bet would to look at what you are creating and think "how does this contribute to the community"? Never go into this making videos for yourself, or thinking you'll be famous. Just make content that you yourself would want to look up on CZcams.
I wanted to do a bit more than a Let's Play, or a Twitch Series like I normally do. I knew that I could flip a few homes with a little bit of style, so I styled it off of these House Hunting and House Flipping videos. The response has been far above and beyond what I expected, I didn't know people were hungry for this.
