Sending a big hug from Painesville Ohio! I got divorced a few years ago and then my father died 6 months later and I still have twinges of sadness at the holidays. It’s mostly grieving what we once had as family and trying to navigate a new way to celebrate. I’m a creature of habit and tradition so new is hard even years later. One twinkling light at a time🥰🌲🥰

Hi love just want to say thank you for sharing not only your beautiful deco but sharing you !I didn't notice that I was sad too till I was hearing you.I went to buy some new and old stuff instead of going back to my shed and pulling everything out.This year so much stress and sickness has made my lupus fibromyalgia increase in pain and much depression and anxiety.I had to tell myself it ok to let my body rest and it ok if I don't do it like before and that was very hard to do but I had too.My faith and the love of my love ones help me get threw and I send much love to you!

Last year it was a sad Christmas for me because my mom passed away on November 1st after being diagnosed with cancer in July. Then my dad passed away unexpectedly on December 22nd. I thought 2022 was going to be a much better year but our adult son passed away a week ago. He battled depression, anxiety and addictions for years. This Christmas will be difficult but we’ll get through it. I have a wonderful daughter, son-in-law and my 3 beautiful grandchildren to help us remember the holiday spirit. I hope 2023 is a better year for both of us. 😊

I didn't get all my stuff up either. I chose to only do the things I love the most. The only tree I did completely was my one with Old World Bavarian ornaments and my Snoopy tree. The others got either partially done or not done at all. I wish my living room looked as good as yours! I still have boxes and stuff everywhere and I wish I could just wave a wand and it would all be cleaned up. And tomorrow's Christmas Eve! So sorry for your struggles. Please give yourself some grace. I usually decorate right after Thanksgiving but I sprained or tore the tendon in my right foot the day I was going to start. Have to ice, elevate and wear a boot until I see the surgeon on 12/15. My daughter came over to help she even went to basement and FaceTimed me to help identify the Christmas tree storage box and ornaments. The tree is half done and I still hope to get the mantle done. No baking and neighbor gifts this year. But even with that I appreciate what I do have. It may not be like most of the other Christmases. Endings can be scary but there is so much potential in new beginnings.
Aw Janet I’m so sorry about your torn tendon! But what a sweet daughter who is helping you 🥹💕 My Mom lost her ability to do things for a few months 10 years ago and I helped her with things too. Thank you for your transparency. The holiday season has been a very difficult time for me the last 18 years. I was raped during the week of Christmas. I have kids now and having to fake Christmas joy has been very painful in the past, but this year feels different. I'm much more at peace with myself. There's no time-line, no linear path to healing. Giving myself grace, love and time has been instrumental in that. I'm sending you so much love!!!

I think you are just going through the Christmas blues... I think we all have experience this in our lives... I have everything pretty much out but I just wasn't feeling it this year... I don't have a tree out I usually put out a couple small ones... I went to my Thanksgiving get together and everyone got covid we all have bad head colds and it turn out to be covid...we are now getting over it..we have decided to cancel our Christmas get together because of this...Just want you to know I learned something from you today how to display my hankies on a spoon display holder thank you for your videos we love your videos...hope your Christmas blues will pass soon...

I broke TWO ornaments decorating today (one vintage, one not). And I was kinda forcing myself to decorate. So… I feel you! Question: what’s your favorite stuff to adhere items to the wall. I bought command books and they keep falling off of my mirror!
I use command hooks actually! I bought these ones and I used the entire pack because I have a big vintage pot holder display in my kitchen. I use them for the garland too and they’re great. I did follow the directions on the box to a T so maybe that helped? rstyle.me/cz-n/g94qatdksnf

Really fun to see your decorating process! I have had some holidays where I was really racing around doing everything for everybody and it was hard to keep my christmas spirit. I broke TWO ornaments decorating today (one vintage, one not). And I was kinda forcing myself to decorate. So… I feel you! Question: what’s your favorite stuff to adhere items to the wall. I bought command books and they keep falling off of my mirror!
I use command hooks actually! I bought these ones and I used the entire pack because I have a big vintage pot holder display in my kitchen. I use them for the garland too and they’re great. I did follow the directions on the box to a T so maybe that helped? rstyle.me/cz-n/g94qatdksnf
