9 Earth-Like Planets We Can Move On Right Now

  • What planets can people live on? You might be happy to learn that 8.8 billion Earth-sized planets have been discovered so far. Over 30 of those planets in our Milky Way galaxy are very likely to be habitable to human being. Scientific teams have been hard at work trying to discover habitable planets. We don’t know if any of those planets hold extraterrestrial life, but we’ll worry about that when we get there!

    SUMMARY:
    - 1,200 light-years from Earth, the Kepler spacecraft discovered the Kepler-62 system. Kepler-62e is an exoplanet, believed to be a water world.
    - Kepler-62f is neighbor to Kepler-62e, and they are the only 2 habitable planets in the Kepler-62 system. A study showed that Kepler-62f is most likely covered entirely in water.
    - It is possible that Kepler-186f has an atmosphere that can keep the water on its surface a liquid, which is a must-have for life on Earth as we know it. Since Kepler-186f orbits a star that is cooler than the sun, we’d all be much colder than on Earth (if we were to live there).
    - A little farther away than the Kepler system, at 1,700 light-years away, we encounter KOI 7711.01. It has been called “Earth’s twin,” and it’s only 30% larger than Earth. Like Earth, it orbits a sun-like star.
    - Kepler-22b is 2.4 times larger than Earth, and it also orbits a sun-like star. That’s why it has a comfortable temperature of 72ºF, so you can expect to feel toasty but not too hot.
    - Gliese 581g was discovered in September 2010, and it is only 20 light-years away! It’s thought to be even more Earth-like than Kepler-22b in that it could be a better home to plants and animals.
    - They say that Ross 128 b is in “Earth’s backyard” because it is only 11 light-years away. Ross 128 b was discovered in 2017.
    - Proxima b is 1.3 times the size of Earth. It is the closest temperate world to Earth, which means that if you were to travel there, you’d experience almost the same temperature as on Earth.
    - 40 light-years away, we encounter the TRAPPIST system. NASA announced this major discovery in 2017. The TRAPPIST-1 system holds 7 planets, all Earth-sized and all habitable, surrounding a single star.

We were lucky to have Earth; to have it orbit the Sun at just the right distance, to have a Moon with its gravitational tug, and all other factors that fostered life as we know it. We don't know what we have until its gone, we take them all for granted. That's why we need to take care of our home and planet, Earth.

Distance is another problem, you can travel faster than light. Motion is relative so speed is relative, however, the faster you travel through space, the bigger the collision explosion you will have if you collide with a rock, and the universe is full of obstacles. So the chances we can travel to another world and arrive in one piece is not so good. And the larger the ship the better the chances of collision.

The thing that we gotta know is that getting to these planets isn’t like a quick drive down the road. Humanity can always look at an artificial planet idk if it’s too possible but it’s better than waiting 100000 years in a city space ship that probably won’t get too far due to asteroids. Also we don’t know if the planets have breathable air.

Oddly enough, I dreamed of living on another planet last night. Me and my family moved into a house built on another planet and it was very earth like accept for the sky was a glowing reddish color and every single day around 1:30-2pm a really hellish storm would approach. It was like I had lived there before to know what happens every single day around 2pm and where I would have to go to get groceries. Where ever this planet was, it was just like earth but more barren and had less vegetation and had a lot of electrical fog storms in the city part which looked more like a desert because there was nothing around for miles accept for more and more red clay and dirt and a few grocery stores spread out miles and miles away from each other. That second day I lived in the new house with my family members we noticed the storm was building up above us. Some of my little cousins were outside playing and I had to go outside and get them inside and also for some reason I had 10 kittens and had to go outside and get all 10 kittens and bring them inside so they wouldn't get killed during the storm.
Well the storm came up extremely quick this time and it was like a tornado storm that was 10 times more powerful. We all went into the kitchen and huddled together and the storm started taring pieces of the house away, the bedrooms went first and then the living room and then the storm lifted the house off the ground and spun around and around in circles and just kept spinning the house so much that I felt dizzy in my sleep and when the storm was over we looked outside and the storm took our house all the way back to planet earth and we were all in a familiar place on earth just a few miles away from our home on earth but the storm through our house beside a river that was close to the library that was close by where we lived before we moved to the knew planet and my mom said, "we are never going back to that planet again."
