I thought that was odd too. Maybe only Viren could hear Aaravos? But even then, Terry should have heard Viren talking. Maybe Terry was just so worried about Claudia, and thought Viren was still catatonic, that he didn't notice Viren walked away?

I was absolutely delighted to see Avizandum again, I still hope we eventually get to see a flashback of him imprisoning Aaravos, and I agree, it is nice to see him from Zubeia's memory/perspective, especially since a number of people seem have taken Rex Igneous's words as ironclad, indisputable truth, seeming to forget that Rex (while not strictly untrue) was clearly biased in his perspective, not to mention very behind the times since it all comes from 80 years ago, probably before Avizandum even knew he was going to be a dad, and I've heard that parenthood can change a person's perspective/priorities. And besides, I say to myself, would someone like Zubeia have truly loved him, been so grief-stricken at his (and their son's presumed) death that she fell into a death-like sleep if he didn't have at least a few truly positive qualities to his character?
I also can't help but add that I think Avizandum's death may one of, if not the, saddest, most gut-wrenching Dragon death in movie/TV currently (probably because most Dragons killed on screen were flat-out villains like Smaug, Vermithrax and Maleficent, so slightly different); honestly, the only one that comes even remotely close to me is one that happened in another Netflix show, DOTA Dragons Blood (if you've watched it, you might be able to guess the referenced incident, if not, I will remain anonymous on the matter, and would recommend watching/reacting to it).
I found myself pleasantly surprised/hopeful for Zubeia when that Mushroom Mage showed up, but I'm still worried that her recovery won't be fast enough for her to regain her full strength to keep Sol Regem from challenging/overthrowing her once he himself is healed, or if TBMH starts hunting down Zym. While an interesting thought, I don't see how this mage's skillset, that seems to the utilisation of mushrooms and fungi in the application of medicinal treatment, can be used to purify an inorganic object like the Sunforge.
As for Viren wandering away from the beach, while it does seem (and might very well be) controversial, I can see him distancing himself from Claudia to keep her from killing the Homunculus before time runs out; and as for trying to dissuade her from continuing these actions, he already tried that during the climb up the Storm Spire in the previous season, and she slapped him in the face as if he was talking insanity, and he might not want his last moments with his daughter to see her in tears, disregarding his own wishes (again), and desperately trying to force him to preform the spell. As for the Homunculus copying Claudia's actions, I attribute that less towards sinister undertones, and interpret it more like a child copying the actions of the adults around him.
In regards to Ezran's absence, an argument/disagreement is certainly plausible and may be a contributing factor, but I lean more towards him being preoccupied in trying to find the best place to hide the prison again, which probably isn't as easy as it might sound.
See you next series, whenever that may be, if not sooner

Even if Viren is dead (which I’m not convinced he is given how little I trust Aaravos’ word) we know he’s still gonna be an active part of the series.
The Dragon Prince website posted a QnA after season 4, where they promised we’d have a scene where Viren and Soren confront each other over what happened at the Storm Spire.
While they did release a short story on the website called Strangers that does go into this a little, I have a feeling that they were referring to an actual scene in the show. If he’s not alive, maybe he’ll be able to interact with the characters with Team Zym as a spirit.

14:26 The symbol on Aaravos’ book is the same one on the back of the Soul Coins’ holding Rayla’s family. It’s called Deep Magic, and it has some connections with Stars and souls.
Given also the visuals used in Viren’s nightmare when he saved Soren as a child, and the fact that he put Rayla’s family in the coins in the first place, it makes me wonder if Viren dabbled in deep magic to save Soren.
Maybe he had to drain the life of someone else to save Soren? Like what if that’s why Kpp’ar is in the coin, so Viren could resurrect him later after using his body to save Soren?
Or maybe Kpp’ar had somehow come across a Qusar diamond in his search for a unicorn and Viren used it to make a new body for Soren’s spirit as he passed?
And if Callum fails to get the diamonds from the Celestial Elves next season, could he possibly dabble in deep magic to free Rayla’s family?

Maybe Viren did use it to save Soren, but required a some rare ingredients or took a huge tool on him physically and psychologically, which is why he doesn’t tell Claudia to do it to him after the 30 day limit.
Since the next season is called Stars, and Aaron Ehasz said on his Twitter that we will learn why Viren put his mentor in the coin, maybe we’ll get a flashback next season or Kpp’ar will get out of the coin and tell us what happened.

We know from the Moonshadow elf tradition of binding that they are very dedicated to seeing their missions through to the end. We also know that Soren was defending the castle when the assassins attacked, so he probably helped kill a few of Runnans comrades.
I can imagine Runnan feeling betrayed to see Rayla friends with not only Ezran, but the guard who helped kill their comrades and the son of the man who put him in that coin in the first place.

I’m not convinced that this is the end for Viren. Mainly because of something said in the season 4 QnA posted on the Dragon Prince website, where they said we would have a scene where Viren and Soren confront each other over what happened at the Storm Spire. Since we haven’t had that this season, that means that Viren has to come back next season, maybe as a spirit or he’s alive.
Aaron Ehasz also said something in the interview on the Reel James interview and on his Twitter, basically asking us to question whether Aaravos can be trusted about Viren’s resurrection, or if he’s a liar.
It’s possible that the spell Claudia casted was already permanent, and the 30 limit was a way to push her to free him. And maybe the Infantis sanguine spell was to test Viren’s conviction to dark magic.
I hope I’m right because this season has made Viren an even more compelling character to me, and I need to see where his story goes from here.
Most of all though, I need to see Soren finally stand up to his father on his own terms. Not while he’s tied up and gagged like in season 4. But able to stand tall as the strong and kind man that Viren beloved he could never be!

I think he’s gonna BECOME the arch dragon of Star. Remember how he tired to help Viren absorb Zym and Zubeia’s magic in season 3, and how he made Luna Tenebris disappear and “swallowed” two Sunfire queens?
Maybe when he absorbs enough magic, he’ll use that power to destroy the other Star touch elves, since the reflections stories “Patience” and “Ripples” on the dragon prince website say that he wants to take revenge on the elves who casted him out.
What I think will happen is that Karim will use the sun seed to heal Sol Regeam, and then he’ll challenge Zubeia for the throne while she’s still weak from the corruption. And then, he’ll try to wipe out the human kingdoms. Since that what he was going to do to Elarion, and many of the Sunfire elves blame the humans for what happened to Liz Aurea.
So maybe Callum will free Aaravos since he’s the only one who could stop him. And then Aaravos will absorb Sol Regeam’s magic, and then he’ll turn into the Star dragon.

Perhaps the writers decided there was a lot of conflict already and didn't want to take tension away from the main plot of stopping Aaravos. Still, after all the buildup with Zubeia becoming more and more corrupted, it did seem a bit anti-climatic to have a random Earthblood elf heal her.

So, this theory is WAY out there and there's not any real evidence to support it, which is why I never mentioned it. I wondered if Aaravos was actually a Star Devourer dragon in disguise - or he was trapped in an elf body - and that's why he was cast down from the stars.
There's an image of a Star Devourer dragon on the constellation chart in the intro.
According the the Dragon Prince Wiki, "Star Devourer Dragons are notorious for swallowing the magic stored within the core of stars themselves... as their mere sight plunges a person into delirium, leaving no evidence of the dragon's true appearance. Sunfire Elves practice an ancient chant that repels these dragons from approaching Xadia and its sun."
Perhaps the "ancient chant" that keeps Xadia's sun protected has to do with the Sunforge. That would explain why Aaravos would want to corrupt it. Also, "Swallowing the magic stored within the core of the stars" sounds a lot like dark magic, and Aaravos is the one who taught the humans dark magic.
After recording this video, I watched the full interview with Aaron Ehasz. Ehasz made a point of connecting the bones at the bottom of the sea to what Aaravos said about swallowing Aditi. So NOW I'm wondering if those bones are Aaravos's true body. I mean, him landing on the planet is what created the Sea of the Castout, and those bones are right smack-dab in the middle.
Sorry for the long reply. This theory has been poking around in my mind for a while.
