The Centurion Action X is a British MBT that used to be a monster. With several nerfs, one in battle rating and the most recent to APDS as a whole... this poor lad can be a little bit of a struggle.

yes the leo 1 has the hunter killer system, they also where the ones to properly implement a functional HK system into a tank i think they also invented that system too.

I have to ask you this,can you play the df105?, I think it's highly underrated especially with the amount of Commander coupla instant kills I've been getting with this thing 😂😂 , and trust me I'm not even a good player I'm not even average I don't think at least, but God damn 😢 it brings tears of joy to my eyes Because it's a high-explosive anti-tank shell that's not even Finn stabilized how the hell am I able to kill 11-7 vehicles instantly with this thing ? Maybe luck idfk 😂😂😂

After much consideration of all your feedback about this issue, we have arrived at a solution that we feel will make your game play much more enjoyable.
When next you play you might notice that it will now sometimes display the words "shell shattered", that is two whole new words to make your War Thunder experience much more entertaining.

The best part is how the shell frequently shatters on hitting side skirt joints.
@@burningsinner1132 My Conqueror's 120mm apds with 500mm pen shattered on Kugelblitz's flat side armor and French oscillating turrets can take much more beating than you'd expect.
@@L4v3 last night my FV4202 apds shattered on the gun shield of an SU100p that was about 20ft away, and yes it then killed me

its not that bad.. well 6.0-7.0 is actually pretty bad.. but 7.3 you get the vickers which is fully stabilized so.. it could be worse ig lol

Britain is worse tech tree overall of the main powers. Used to be a lot better, but then HESH was merged several times and APDS made to do virtually zero spalling post pen.
As a british main I can confirm that there only two tanks on the tree with APHE (at least in the standard tree). The Sherman 2 and the recently added Churchill NA75
Can we take a moment to appreciate how cool "Action X" sounds? It's like the English developed a new kind of firearm action and have even it's name classified to keep people from finding out about it and just call it "Action X" in official documents.
Yeah, after playing for a bit, I can for sure say that APDS was better before. And personally didn't think it was strange enough to warrant a change.
I recently came back to WT for the first time since 2013, decided to main Britain to represent and b/c I like the WW2 lineup historically.
Unlocked the Firefly and it's nice- I only have to worry about my own depression, because the gun sure as hell doesn't have any.

The firefly is fun. At 4.7 you don't yet get to see a full team of Panthers and Tigers and altho the bouncy gun and lack of acceleration hurts, you can do well.
Currently at 5.3 and dear lord. The matches have become "play against Germany 75% of the time and get stomped".

Have to admit, that shot caused some emotional damage to me. Mainly because you had the cheek to shoot at, but you instead shot the very heavily armored hull
You can’t blame him when Brit apds used to be able to one shot tiger 2s through the ufp. But now you’re lucky to one shot an aml
i think it’s because if it had penned, it would have got the driver as well as the whole of the turret crew(thus one shotting) where as if you hit the turret you leave two crew alive. (i don’t actually know the internal layout of that tank so i might be wrong)
@@C0M3T_ Even before the nerf, it wasn't really reliable and sometimes just wouldn't go through. In general, it always a good idea to just avoid shooting the UFP of a Tiger 2, instead shooting the turret to hit the ammo, breech, and gunner. This goes for both the P and H
@@_cyantist it doesn't really work. With how the crew are situated, even if you hit and penned, there would still be 2 crew left alive. So you're gonna have to fire 2 rounds anyway.

As someone who plays a lot of centurions it saddens me to see how broken apds is right now, its so bad in fact that i have resorted to using solid AP when playing the centurion mk3/strv 81 and it surprisingly works decently well
AP is manageable, but still much worse than APHE would be

For the Shell Shattered, from testing, i concluded that is more when there are 2 plates overlapping each other, that it will shatter the shell. Best examples of this in effect is trying to shoot at a Ferdinand with the 20pdr. You will be able to go through the superstructure with APDS but the upper part of the hull, will shatter the shell, because it is 2x 100mm plate on top of each other, another example is the T29/T30/T34, on the back of the turret of its welded plate.
22:30 I've been having this happen a lot to me as well. I'll see an enemy, swing the camera around to check other places, come back to the enemy and they are no longer rendered in until I get them with in about 30 degrees or so of barrel vision. Weirdest thing ever.

I played way too much centurion, I got a whole lineup of em. However, while APDS was my go-to shell, right now it is just barely good against Panther. It used to be able to pen a Tiger II upfront, but now it's just a softer classic APCR. Therefore, I deciced to use it as such, i.e. a backup shell for heavy (flat) armoured plates. Otherwise, just STICK to the APCBC shell, not as fast, but it does one shot often as the spalling is insane ! If you are reading this as a Centurion player, any model using the 20-pounder gun, just use APCBC to save some sanity.
At least, until Gaijin wakes up and fix this game...

@@destructionzone8493 Sometimes, APDS is worth the shot, especially on long range map, it still goes very fast and pens a lot more, but don't rely on consistency while doing so
I bought this baby during one of the sales a few months ago and I have had an absolute blast with this thing! Britain has a great 7.3 lineup!

This was the first premium i got and I found that the turret armour can get a bit trolly at range. Because it isn’t modelled as cast armour I find that volumetric can mess with a round sometimes.
Guys like you prove the most valuable part of any armored vehicle is a capable and aware crew

You should check out the apds armor void that is the entire hull front of the ferdinand/elefant upper casemate is fine but front and corners are insta shatters on most apds including the sloped corners
200mm thick plate? Yeah we go through that.
2 separate 100mm plates bolted together? Best we can do is shatter.

With the Action X, when going up against a King Tiger, use the Mk8 AP on the side of its turret.
It feels like Britain suffers yet gaijin continuously makes them suffer even more each update.

Hello! Perfect timing as I just got off and time to relax
This tank helped me grind out the majority of the British tech tree therefore it will have a special place in my heart
Cent X and Mk5/1 used to be my go-to Brit lineup for farming higher tiers, but they absolutely neutered it with the new shell 'upgrade.'
It never had any problems with pen before, now it has 'too much' because it doesn't deal any post pen damage.

Most of the time and with few exceptions you get one shot by everything and only get to piece by piece dismantle the enemy even when hitting the correct weak spots.

I only started playing British when an m103 penned my is3 in the front (2014) i only have the challenger 2 left and the end tree jets left been alot of suffering specially when they took working hesh from us

i got to chally at 10.0 and just gave up on britain. top tier is so painful in general but man the only saving grace of the tree was the mk10 for me

APCBC is the way to go now for Britain 7.3. Even if its solid shot, its got good spalling. The APDS is now more a back up round when you absolultely have to pen thick flat armour
I've ground out most of the tech tree for Britain but just felt totally worn out as it was non-stop pain. The rounds just don't hit nearly as hard and the armor doesn't seem to stop anything at their BR. I haven't picked up the tech tree to grind out the additions to it for that reason so I still don't have the newest stuff there...maybe I'll pick it back up soon IDK.
It's not any better at top tier, British tanks are the slowest with the worst hull armour (very relevant with all the urban maps) and some of the weakest APFSDS rounds at top tier...

I must love suffering as Britian is the only nationality I have played... coming up to 4.7br and man it's a journey lol. Forever getting 1 tapped when I have to send multiple most of time.
Annoying because I got to 5br on tanks and planes on PS then I moved to Xbox and started again... grind is real haha
Probably doesn't help I haven't ever brought premium as I personally feel its too expensive especially with the price of things, they're literally raking in mad amounts of money. But free to play, I can't complain really
4.7 UK is my SL printer, especially with the premiums for that lineup. Two fireflies, two Achilles, two Churchills, two Typhoons, and Avenger just off the top of my head.

I've just unlocked Churchill and Firefly, going to get a couple more then I'll stick them in a crew slot and get playing. Currently grinding at 3.7 until I have enough of a line up.
I give it to the Achilles, its a beast tbf. Been able to slap a lot of tanks with that, just doesn't like being shot lol.
Cromwell V is a beast though, I bounce for days, but Churchill I I see Bawz bounce and clean people with it, but I don't seem to have the same effect with it.

Currently at 5.3 with Comet and Challenger and I start to wonder if maining sabo is the way to go.
Like, even with APDS you still have to aim for weakspots in german tanks or do sniping from the flanks.
In both of these scenarios I feel like APDS is sort of redundant since you don't need the penetration anyways (except for like, King Tiger Turrent cheeks) and APCBC does more spalling.
This tank was the first tank I ever used but I still enjoy using it a lot

We're about to get our second battle pass Centurion, and here I am, having not played a single one. I have the Mk 1 and the Mk 5, I just stopped grinding Britain like a year ago.

The cent’s feel particularly bad as they gave uptier’s the majority of the time. The dart rounds and under tiered thermals make it a struggle

Bawz that first shot on the IS-3 wouldnt pen it cuz it hits an angled plate + overlap, u have to aim lower where the tracks start
I've been playing a few tanks with 105 APDS lately, and i get shell shattered every single time i hit a leopard 1's gun mantlet. pure pain
This tank is honestly a tragedy. I only got it because the jump from a good 4.7 lineup to the next good lineup at 7.3 was too big so i needed something to help with that. It's a very fun tank until you meet something with slightly angled armor and you get [shell shattered]. Meanwhile germany has insanely undertiered tanks at this br (as always) and you can face the soviet nightmare that is the t55am1 which you can't pen in the front anywhere (even the place between the gun and extra armor plate is invulnerable in the actual game).
Just a note for Centurion/Early Bri'ish MBT Users, Use the Solid Shot instead of APDS against WW2 Vehicles if you get downtiered, and use APDS only if you choose to risk it, not only can shell-shatter happen to APDS, (but not Solid Shot) but also the APDS is way more inaccurate with it being more inaccurate at greater ranges but solid shot has very little deviation.

Pens more than m735 as well i think, meaning it actually pens anything whereas the only words ive been allowed to see in my xm1 are target undamaged over and over

Why did they ruin most shells making them have absolutely no post pen damage. Its frustrating when u actually finally pen the enemy and realize ur post pen damage didnt do anything
Nah forget abou the Rooikat as well, real chads grind the Treabong tree with the AVRE.
Try playing any of the Swedish 9040's. They are decently fun. Although the SPAA and BILL got the better gadgets than the base models

Bought the Rooikat and the Chally and will just grind that up with some aircraft. 😂
I enjoy playing the brits tech tree but the solid ap and apds can be anoying lol
I only play Britain and have been playing them for the past four years. I feel they have some strong vehicles.
I recommend you never play USA, Germany, or USSR if you want to keep thinking that.

Grinding Britain is a massive pain. I somehow unlocked all the tanks except Challenger 2E.(halfway there)
IMO 8.3 is the best br for Britain. Falcon,Rooikat,Chieftain,Za35,Olifant and also no depression Zt3a2.

I noticed that they nerfed the sabots i used to easily go straight through the front of panthers with my challenger and now panthers even on the SIDE sometimes stop by sabots.

Shell shattered..........well yes but that does not mean it disapears! It will have reduced penetration but it is still moving forwards
