Very rare little Rambler, nice to see this gem. Thanks Lou!
Happy to read you appreciate the rarity of seeing one of these today :-) You're welcome John!
I owned a1966 rogue came out july 1966 with a 290cui v8.
Looked like a ford 289 v8, borgwarner t 10 4 speed people were very curious when they saw it fun car with that gold black paint scheme. Wish i had it back.
Such a clean design and a sized vehicle. Color combination works well with the design as well. AMC products were so under-rated. Thanks for sharing this jewel with us, Lou!
Hi ultraviolet tp, Happy to share this "jewel" with you :-)
Wow. Very cool piece of AMC / Hurst history!!!
Happy to receive a "Wow" from you :-)
Boy, the stance is aggressive! And an original Hurst shifter, too? Amazing! What a great car and a proud custodian. Thanks for finding and sharing Mr. Keller and his '67 Rambler Rogue with us, Lou!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Happy to read "Amazing!" :-) You're welcome, Lou
What a classic!! Love the AMC’s 😎😎
:-)
What an absolutely beautiful car!
Back about 1970, a buddy of mine and I were cruising around one night in his 1964 GTO With a 389 and a 4speed street racing when on highway on the way home a Rambler Scramber pulled along side of us.
Blew the horn 3 times and all we saw was his taillights!
That was the only time we got beat that night!
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Good time, memorable moment! Thank you for sharing.
The Sungold Sleeper! A very rare and special Rambler, sort of like a proto-SC/Rambler. This short wheelbase, relatively light 343 4-speed "Typhoon" likely surprised a few bigger-engined rides in its time. Also, the keen-eyed might notice the engine block was gold and not the better-known AMC blue. Thanks Lou, enjoy your week!!
Happy to share this "Sungold Sleeper!" with you :-) You're welcome AMCmachine!
I would love to add headers, and maybe lower-restrictions dual mufflers to that little beast! It sounds good, but could sound even more threatening! And 300+hp is, IMO, a requirement for a car to be considered a "muscle car"!...I would prefer this cool little car to the larger muscle cars of that era. It is interesting to note, that each division of GM made their own V8 engines, as did AMC back then.
Thanks!
SUPER THANK YOU FOR THE SUPER THANKS troynov1965! I appreciate it and it supports me getting to share the cars with you and the Viewers, Lou
This is.such a great car, right up my alley..I like these Rablers.I had a 64 at age 17 and bought a 68 Rambler American about four years ago from a guy in California. It's a 4dr. sedan with a good solid rust free body. I'd love to own this car! Thanks for showing it Lou.
Hi David, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your cars :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
I remember Gegnas AMC when I was a kid back in the 60’s when WIP had the advertisements on the radio. And the Ad’s in the Daily News. I remember those cars they were light and really quick. Could give a Chevelle and a Goat a run for the money. Thanks Lou, Great Videos 🙏
Hi Big Mountain, You're welcome. Speaking of advertisements, please watch the commercials in full before the video (or at least the ones you can) as that is how I get paid to keep sharing with you. Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
Very underrated car company…very very nice automobile
Happy to read you appreciate this car :-)
hey lou. one of my friends dad had one of these back in the 60s and he took us for a ride in it. man that thing got up and went down the road very quickly. i think he may still have it. thanks for the video.

Beautiful, and super rare Rambler that's perfect as-is, Wouldn't add a thing. Nicely done Lou, a real treat to see such an awesome factory hot rod.

Lou, as an enthusiast of all things AMC - I thank you for your interest and features of the Marque as well.
Out of the 50 or so similarly equipped I wonder how many [besides this one] survive if at all?
The car looks just prime.
Hats off to the gentleman for his stewardship of this mighty Rambler.
Long live AMC muscle! 💪🏼
Audie, Of the 50 that were built like this, I'm not sure how many are left. I'm happy to share this rarely seen AMC car today with you :-) Lou
There were four 343-Rogues and one recently restored 343 2-door "220" (2-door post) at MCACN. This was the largest gathering of "X-Code" '67 Ramblers ever. We estimate there are about 10 in existence.
@maynardkeller
That's awesome! Thx for the info brothah !
OMG 1 of only 58! What a rare AMC. No doubt a Holy Grail. Mind blown Lou 🤯 Thank you once again Lou, undoubtedly the best car channel on CZcams!
Happy to read "Mind blown" :-)
Holy Cow ! Finally a AMC Rogue and a 67 343 to boot ! Thats the Holy Grail of Rogues. Nice color combo as well .
I noticed it has Va. tags and thats where I live as well.
I been asking for a Rouge every time you show a AMC so THANK YOU for showing one. Love these cars but they never get the spotlight they deserve even from AMC fans.
"Thats the Holy Grail of Rogues" I agree. My pleasure sharing this one with you. You're welcome.
NOW THAT"S COOL! Nver knew these existed.
Happy to read you enjoy this "COOL" car :-)
My Mother had had a horrible green colored Rambler when I was a kid but this Rouge is Fantastic love this Car ❤

Hi Brad, Happy to receive a "Wow!" from you :-) You're welcome, Lou
Lou, Thanks for your amazing video on my '67 Rogue! This was my first time at MCACN and was a great experience. Thanks for all you're doing for the car hobby.
Maynard, My pleasure! So much fun to share your rarely seen today AMC with the Globe. Check out the comments in a few days too!
Love it!
:-)
I’ve never understood why the 343 Rogue wasn’t a bigger seller than it was. It has all the right mechanical bits, and it’s a great looking car to boot. I’ll bet the 327 Nova outsold it 100 to 1. This is one of life’s mysteries, but I guess it’s the Rodney Dangerfield effect- AMC just never got any respect. Lou, if you ever get a chance to do a ride-along in this car, that would be a nice little addition to this video. I love this car, I’ve always wanted one, and now I want one even more! Awesome video Lou!!
Hi Tom (and JudyAnn), You're right, this car has "all the right mechanical bits". Happy to read "I love this car" :-) Lou
I had 69 Ambassador SST 343 that was the same color.
Nice AMC
Hi Gary, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your car color :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
AMC, like Studebaker before them, made the something out of nothing. An overlooked maker of muscle AMC had some of the coolest muscle car's of the '60's. There was a handful of these Rogues there, this was one of the best. What a cool car, good eye as always Lou. Thanks for bringing a relative unknown to the attention of the masses.
Hi Richard, Happy to share with you this rarely seen AMC today on the Channel for you and Viewers to enjoy. You're welcome, Lou
I say YES!!!!!!!!!!!
:-)
YES!
:-)
I was never an AMC fan but I do like the look of this model!
Happy to read "I do like the look of this model" :-)
Great job Lou! AMC forever. Everyone knew someone who had a Rambler. Awesome cars truly different. My Mom had a 4- door. Tank of gas work run you 2 weeks. Back and forth to work. Shawn
Hi Shawn, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) Glad to read this car brings back memories of your Moms car. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
This isn't your grandmother's Rambler. Beautiful car 😍😍😍😍😍 Thanks Lou!
Hi motorTranz, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) You're welcome!
@motorTranz - Ha! You never knew my grandmother! She inherited a '70' factory drag pack equipped 429 Cobra Jet Torino from her late husband back in 1973 and she drove the wheels off it for almost 5 years! I think she must have been a distant cousin of a certain notorious elderly "Shiny Red Super/ Stock Dodge" driving lady from Pasadena! (🎵"Go granny, Go granny, Go granny, Go!" 🎵)🤣🤣🤣
I can remember seeing two of these cars back in the day. They were very unusual and I can’t say that I noticed the Hurst sticker on the back but they were four speeds
Hi James, Happy to read this car brings back memories of the two cars you remember :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Not a decal on the back but and actual die cast Hurst emblem.
@@martinsuter3531 I called it a sticker but I picked up on it that it was an actual metal sticker and not a decal just sayn
Wow! We had a 68 with a 242 and three on the tree.
It would do amazing one wheel burnouts!

😅❤❤❤❤❤❤ Super nice sound
Hi Chuck B, Happy to read you enjoy the sounds from this car :-) Lou
Struck gold again Lou! This is such a beautiful car. Nice breakaway from the typical
Chevy II’s and Novas . 😀👍
Hi Cobra Charmer, Happy to share the gold with you :-) Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car, Lou
Great color and sound.
Happy to read you enjoy the looks and sounds from this car :-)
Another great one Lou, thank you❗️🇺🇸

Hi Jeff, Happy to read you appreciate the rarity of seeing this one :-) You're welcome, Lou
Nice size AMC and it looks so good. Thank you, Maynard and Lou, for sharing this Gem. 💥
Happy to share this "Gem" with you Chris :-)
I remember seeing a lot of 1967 Ramblers on the road....probably not a lot of them Rogue X Code 343's! I've never seen an interor of one before . Love the detail of your video and seeing the dash for the first time. It has a great dash. I love any car that has aluminum on the dash board. Just a preerence of mine. This outside color looks great too. Love the Vin Code reading!!! The engine and exhuast sounded GREAT!
Love the AMC's.
:-)
Maynard has a unique one indeed. AMC/Rambler is very underserved in the Classic Car Circles. Thanks Lou.
Hi CJ Deign, Happy to share this rarely see AMC with you :-) You're welcome.
Neat ride, I liked these better than the Novas , Falcons or Darts back then, only problem was the nearest AMC dealer was 65 miles away. That and I was working at the local Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge dealer.
Kinda frowned upon driving a competitor’s car!
Thanks for the trip in the way back machine!!
Hi Oldblue’s HHR channel, Happy to read you enjoy this "Neat ride" :-) Glad to read this car brings memories back for you. You're welcome, Lou

Cool car, looks good. Another rare unit, didn't know these existed.
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) First one on the Channel, so happy to share this one with you :-)
A cool Rambler seems like an oxymoron..but not in this case! Ramblers never got much love, but this car is fantastic...a massive home run! 👍👏😎
Happy to read "his car is fantastic...a massive home run!" :-)
Hi Lou, what a great looking car, i have never herd of those before, they should have made a lot more of them, as i think they would have sold, a very nice car.👍👍.
Hi Philip, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) My pleasure sharing this rarely seen today car with you, Lou
Very Kool!
:-)
its a cool car AMC should make a comeback
Happy to read you enjoy this "cool car" :-)
Grouse as sounds great so cool
Happy to read you enjoy the sounds from this car :-)
Back in 1967 my best friends father hsd a small used car lot. They would purchase and resell many popular late model cars back then. We being licensed drivers we were conscripted to drive these auction purchases to the dealer lot. The owner really liked ramblers and many times I got to helm these v8 Kenosha sleepers bsck to the home base. These cars ran good, but were not bullet proof like small block Chevies. I once blew up a Rambler with a 327 motor by holging it to the floorboard for a few miles these things were fairly fragile compared to Fords and GM's, and I ran all of them through their paces from 1964-1970. If you want a reliable V8 to hot rod a Rambler may be fun, but almost any built small block Chevy wil out last it and blow it in weeds!
Happy to share this "Kenosha sleeper" with you :-) Thanks for viewing and sharing your knowledge.
Rare one very nice.
Happy to read you appreciate the rarity of seeing this car :-)
We had a 1967, black on gold, but our truck was also black. Had bucket seats, auto in the floor, v8 engine. It was geared very low and was fast as heck 0-60 and I used to really surprise guys in their Mustangs and Camaros. Top end was pitiful, top speed I could get was just over 90mph! But it was unusual, got a lot of double take looks, and it was a fun car. I can't remember engine size, perhaps 285, can't remember.

Awesome car
Happy to read "Awesome car" :-)
Nice 😊
:-)
Heck yeah it must be rambler day because I've seen other CZcamsrs posting videos of them.
They're ramblin around :-)
Cool
Definitely looks like a crunched down 68 Roadrunner 😂
:-)
It’s like an sc/rambler before they were actually made
I can see why you'd say that.
👍💯👀💯👍
:-)
Lou I have never heard of this model Rambler. I was so hoping that this car story would answer the myriad of questions I had. Unfortunately that didn't happen. The owner left something to be desired in telling his car story. Lou you regressed to your usual Jack instructions and number plates. As a result I left this episode of MCS with more questions than answers. BTW the chrome wheels and red line tires look Identical to those on my dad's 68 Plymouth Sports Satellite.
Bill, ?'s ?s ?s I tell you what, when you see an Owner with another one you can ask him all the questions you like :-) Stay well, Lou
It's too bad that AMC never really promoted these 4-spd, 343-powered Rogues back in the day. If they had and more people had known about them I'm sure AMC would’ve, could've, should've sold a whole lot of them.of them!
Hi Martin, Thanks for viewing, sharing, and happy to share this rarely seen today AMC with you :-) Lou
I always thought the Rambler was a cool looking car, even though most of them had no power. It's a shame AMC didn't make more of the powerful ones.
Hi Eric, Happy to read "I always thought the Rambler was a cool looking car," :-)
1:56 that green "shorty" roadster in background looks pretty wild. Is that a Chrysler?
I liked that one, but I did not see anyone around it, so I'm not sure if it's a Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, or DeSoto.
@@loucostabile I think it might be a 59 Imperial?
Precursor to the Rebel Machine.
Rogue Machine :-)
Was this made before the Rambler Scrambler?
Yes.
Not a lot of these around. I don't think they built many 343 Rogues in 67.
Hi mpetersen6, You're right not a lot around today. A treat to see this one to share with you, Lou
@@loucostabile
I enjoy seeing nice and unusual cars on the channel. Long out of the car hobby but if l was putting together a Rogue today I'd start with a 4.0 glock bored 30 over. With a 199 crank that gives 3.5 liters. Then junk the head and build up a twin cam read out of something close. Either a GM LQ-1 or an Infinity/Nissan V-8. Turn it into a potent autocross or track car.
Lovely. 4 speed is more rare than the auto.
My pleasure sharing this car with you :-)
I think it is a Rogue not a Rouge.
You're right, and I've changed to the correct spelling. THANK YOU!
How come there is no AMC logo on the front righthand side of the grill?
Hmmm, not sure. Hoping a Viewer with knowledge who can share knowledge.
There's a "Rambler" on the left grill and "Rambler" by the right rear taillight. "Rambler" was their brand. Even the mirrors have an "R" on them. I don't think "AMC" is anywhere. The door tag says "American Motors Corporation."
I think I prefer this Rogue over the one by Nissan 🤪
:-)
Most definitely
Hands-down
The Rambler Rogue was the top-of-the-line Rambler hardtop from 1966-69.
Цікаве авто! Дякую!
Hi Сергій, Happy to share this interesting car with you. You're welcome, Lou
Equally as eye catching as the '66/'67 Chevy 2 Nova, but so very rare at 58 vs about 10,500 SS hardtop models. . . :>/
Hi Dr. Candor, Happy to share this rare AMC Nova with you :-) Lou
Rambler Rogue??😯🫡🙄🤔
Yep :-) Happy to share this rarely seen today AMC treat with you.
Whoa !!! Slow down !!!

Poor AMC!...If they had just begun to manufacture this type of smaller, but powerful car, in the very early 1960s, they would have sold a million of these cool vehicles!...But, they just were a little bit late to the party! The Rambler American had saved the company, in the late 1950s/early 60s...so they stuck with their "economy car" philosophy for a couple of years too long. Too bad, as in the later 50s, a few of their larger vehicles did offer powerful, AMC v8 engines...but they gave up on hp way too early!
Hi Curbozer Boomer, Thanks for viewing and sharing. Lou
Very nice, I don’t remember hi po Rambler ? Very nice !
Happy to read "Very nice !" :-)
