Tensions are simmering ahead of summer talks on which UNESCO World Heritage sites are deemed to be endangered, with countries battling against featuring on the UN cultural body's list. A303 is the main road connecting the south of the country to the whole of the south west and a large part of it including the area next to Stonehenge is single lane, one breakdown or accident and it becomes a huge long carpark. its the worst major road in the country due to it being next to Stonehenge, a tunnel is the best option for the road

The US doesn't have such problems 😊 the oldest heritage we have are Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Bryce canyon, Redwood trees etc, which are all protected National Parks with wide open spaces. There have been summer traffics congestion

UNESCO's founding mission, which was shaped by the events of World War II, is to advance peace, sustainable development and human rights. Not distributing money. But they do, and they ask you to comply with their mission. If you don’t, you don’t get the money. Really clear cut policy. So….comply, and nothing will happen. Do as you wish (you can) and loose the money
