I bought the D'Angelico Deluxe Mini because I have severe shoulder problems and can't play my archtop jazz guitars any longer.
We'll check on the build quaity, playability and of course lots of D'Angelico Deluxe Mini sound examples.
This guitar is a great jazz guitar, but is very versatile. So I'll play some Funk, Blues and Hendrix style as well.
If you like my D'Angelico Deluxe Mini DC guitar review, please give this video a thumbs up! Please share the knowledge and subscribe my channel for many more Jazz guitar reviews and Chord Melody jazz guitar tutorials.

Enjoy, Sandra :-) - Hudba
One final comment, if you'll all forgive me: Meant to mention how incredible Sandra's playing is in so many varied styles, wow!
😍 Thank you! ❤️
She gets better and better
What a great review! The different style song examples, and the final solo improvisation are perfectly executed. It’s always a delight to see you at work, dear Sandra.
Thanks, Louis! I had fun doing this and getting to play some Hendrix 😊
I'm in love with this. I have a Premier D'Angelico and shocked at the quality and sound at the intro level. I will save up for this at the Deluxe level! Thank you.
Great review! The way you showed the different styles of music on the different pickup settings is something I wish more reviewers would do. I feel like a lot of them just tend to play whatever they know on each pickup. But hearing country coming out of this jazzbox on the split bridge pickup was enlightening. Thank you!
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for your kind words.
Loved your review! I was looking at the Excel SS series . Sounds fab.
Hi Sandra, As always, your reviews are fabulous... thank you!
Glad you like them!
Really excellent review. It’s so refreshing to hear an accomplished jazz guitarist play and talk about their impressions of tone, ergonomics and everything else. The compact size makes this one really intriguing. Many thanks for sharing your thoughts and playing.
Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it. ❤️
Wow - great review. Thank you for mentioning the pick ups that are in the instrument. Beautiful guitar and wonderful playing. Thank you. I love the natural finish on the guitar by the way. Does it come in other finishes? Also - loved that you musically referred to Hendrix tune. That confirmed for me that I tuned into the right review... 🙂
I think it's offered in 3 colors. Red and some burst, if I remember correctly.
Awesome! I just bought a D Angelico today and just subscribed!
How cool 😎. Congrats on your new baby and welcome to the jazz ride!
I love your playing Sandra - it was fun to see you doing other styles, but that is the sign of an excellent guitarist.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the review. 😊
Great review. Really an amazing sound from this guitar. Thanks again
I still use it on a daily basis. It's so comfortable. I can now play the big Jazz boxes again, but only do so for my videos. The rest of the day I pkay this guitar and an acoustic archtop (if I don't want to plug in to an amp).

This is a great review, of a nice guitar! When I was looking for a small body semi, I thought about the D’A, but, my cheapo Epi 339 has satisfied my needs for ~25% the cost, here in the states. Great playing, as always, Sandra👏😁.
Indeed the 339 was on my choice list. But its neck is too fat for me. Also I like the modern approach with the comfy neck joint and the aesthetics of the D'Angelico.
That's an awesome sounding (and looking) guitar. Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you kindly!
Greetings from the state of Oklahoma, your videos are always great , dear Sandra. I’m traveling with my son, enjoying the trip, from Nashville to Arizona.
Hey, so great you spend time with your son. I always dreamed of a roaf trip through the US with my American Dad. Hope my travel anxiety will let me do it before he's too old.
Some time ago, when I first saw you playing this guitar, I commented that I'd like to know how you came to choose it. You told me you'd be reviewing it soon and discussing your experience with it. I've been away from the site but I just saw this review, and I must say it is a remarkable axe. You make it sound great. Thanks for presenting it.
It's indeed a little gem 💎. My shoulders are getting better and I've purchased a new guitar 😁 (severe G. A. S, I know 😊). L soll one of the others for it. It's an Eastman 503. Sie is like my beloved Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion, but full archtop. I'll review it too 😊.
I’m so glad I found this review. I tore my right shoulder rotator cuff 6 months ago and can’t get my arm around my Gibson ‘51 ES-175 or my ‘58 Martin D-18. I will definitely have to take a look at this guitar. I bought a small travel guitar but it’s not the same. Thank you! I was afraid I’d have to give up playing. This was a great review and you play beautifully.
This guitar is super easy to wrap your arm around. If you're a very large guy it may be too small, so you'll need to try it out.
Very nice and refreshibg to see an honest review, no over hype just straght to the point. Great playing too! More videos like this CZcams, please.
Thanks, will do! Working new gear reviews right now.
Je voulais vous demander je comptais m'acheter une gb10 se est-ce que ce modèle est supérieur
Merci de votre réponse
Great review! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent review and wonderful playing.
Thank you for your kind words ❤️
Im glad you found someone that shows how great the guitar sounds. Now its time to buy.
Hi Sandra, A really nice Jazz guitar with looks and sound not to bulky and heavy. Amazing design, and also an amazing presenter and player. Cheers.
Beautiful sounding guitar. Great review and playing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really like your music focused jazz guitar vids, really very professional and personal in one! I checked a lot of other and your videos to decide my favourite, and THIS one is my choice now! Thanks Sandra, you give a lot of pro information (and avoid a mess of selfish actors here in YT)! Subscr. your channel just now! Have a nice spring & "Summer tiiiime"...! Cheers, Henry
Welcome to the jazz ride on my channel 🤗. Glad you find the tutorials helpful ♥️.
Hi dear Sandra, first of all congratulations, your content is so valuable. By the way, I loved this review video. I would like to know which Amplifier you used, and the settings of it. Please
Please check out my video on that. Just type "amp guitar settings guutarversum" into the YT search box. I used the same hat for all my videos (an amp plugin in my DAW).
Thank you for a great review Sandra, may I ask a couple of questions please?
Is it similar to a Gibson 339 ( smaller brother of a 335) and what amp are you playing through, it sounds beautiful.
Thank you and please keep up the good work. Steve.
I don't know if it's smaller, but I think so. It's definitely a more modern approach, especially with the smooth neck joint.
As for my amp settings, please type "amp settings guitarversum" into the YT search box, to find my video on that topic.
As always, love your playing. I just purchased the excel ss and I love it. Just like you described -perfect in every way. By the way what the wireless system your using, sounds good!
I use either a Line 6 GS2 or a Sennheiser.
I bought an Excel edition in February of 2022. I had it set up by a luthier at arrival. Fret ends were sharp plus I wanted to match a set of strings. It sits right next to me now and it plays well. I like the smaller size and that is the main reason I bought it. Sandra is right on the money in her review, this is a great instrument in the 2K range. It's also nice to listen to you play.
There seems to be a differenve in build quality between the Excel series and the Deluxe.
I have the same guitar in fiesta red and very happy with it! Great choice!
I didn't know they sell it in fiesta red. That's a Deluxe you have?
I've had my Excel SS D’Angelico guitar for a year now; It's been my #1 go to guitar. D’Angelico guitars make great quality guitars. I'm sure the Mini DC is a great choice if you need a smaller 335 size.
Looks like a wonderful instrument. I am going thru the same shoulder drama after playing for about 60 years. I just picked up a VOX Guiletta hollow body. It's 13 inches bout and is 3 inches deep. It has a built in synth unit which I didn't really need but am enjoying. Have a grand time with your new baby.
Sounds like an interesting concept (the Guiletta). I'll make a video with the shoulder exercises, that solved my problems after 2 years of going through hell. It saved my from a two surgeries also!
great review, no bla bla, enough information, thanks 👍
Glad you liked it, Tom!
Thanks for the excellent review. I purchased the Premier xt that is exclusively sold through Sweetwater. The xt includes locking tuners and a pickup upgrade to USA Seymour Duncan sh-2n jazz in the neck and an sh-4 jb in the bridge. No splitting however. Great tones and excellent playability. Maybe not as nice as the Deluxe but the upgrades make it a great value.
What's the difference to the Excel then? Did you pay less or more for it than an Excel?
Hi. you make it sound really great and satisfying to my hears. Just askin myself if you're recording thru amp, tube amp, or amp sim ? thx
For my videos I use an amp sim plug-in . I made a video abojt my gear and amp settings: czcams.com/video/-6Tylw4gf0E/video.htmlsi=hEhnwNzCCyRBNpYv
An excellent review, and a really lovely guitar. I'm very tempted by the Deluxe SS, very similar but a slightly larger body shape but I love the single cut look on 'thinline' guitar and I would expect very simiar tonal versatility to the model you show here. Are you playing flatwounds here? Sounds gorgeous, but then guitars tend to when you play them!
I play round wound gauge 12 from Thomastik.
excellent . Thanks so much. I bought a premier mini (probably last years model) for a very good price (new). I love the guitar. As I had a 50 year hiatus in playing. I couldnt really get the controls ( the premier doesnt have the splits that the deluxe has...but thats ok for me) Your post helped me greatly,. Really appreciate it.
A 50 year hiatus? Wow! Glad you're back and enjoy playing again.
I'll definitely try one out at a local store. D'Angelico, to my eyes, does such a great job on the design and aesthetic aspects of their guitars. I tried out a D'Angelico Deluxe Bedford SH at a local store last year and absolutely LOVED it. I could not justify buying another guitar, but I've got my eye on that one or on one of these. I am gravitating more and more to lightweight centerblock guitars. Just feel very comfortable for me.
I'll habe to check out the Bedford. While I totally dig D'Angelico, most of their guitars have a 16" fretboard radius, and you know how much I hate flat radii. So hard to bar a chord.
I have this guitar at a Premium level and love it. The single coils are the quietest SC pickups I've heard yet.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman I bought a Bedford SH and returned it for this very reason. The neck is like butter and would have kept it had it been 9.5". Also, the Mini Bucker at the bridge was fantastic but the other two singles were... Meh. Have long been enamored with the Mini DC but just can't Jibe witht the flat fretboard.
Sweet box! Hope it helps you play and teach superbly as always.
How nice to hear the natural tone of the instrument. So many who review guitars process the tone so much that you have no idea what the natural tone is.
But I think Sandra would agree that any great archtop hollowbody has a richness of frequency response that the semis can never match. While tonal perfection in the guitar comes from the great classical guitars, the archtop hollowbody is next in line.
Absolutely! An archtop feels so different. Often it's not so much the sound that's so much different, but the feeling and response you get from the guitar while playing it.
too many guitarists overlook comfort to have "the best guitar". hats off to you and enjoy your new baby. shes a beaut!
Sounds great!
I love your playing! I feel like I'm meditating when you play solo standards. I work on standards, and love it, but hearing a maestro doing it, is a real thing. Frieden!
Thank you for your wonderful compliment! ❤️
Beautiful playing Sandra. I recently played a similar D'angelico at a guitar shop. Very nice guitar...but the headstock! I think you either love it or not. Hope your shoulder is feeling better.
Yes, much better. Almost 80% mobility and pain free.
I love semi-hollow body guitars and this one sounds fantastic. Just wish I could play as well as you.😢
Very beautiful guitar, thanks for sharing.Hope you play it often.
I use it daily! It's so comfortable 😍
Thank you!😊
You make that Guitar sound great, very tasteful runs. D'Angelico makes beautiful, beautiful guitars. I'm lucky to own one. I just wish they would make more for left handed players like me.
Yes, I agree, you left handers should have more choices.
that's probably one of the best jazz sounds i've ever heard. pretty sure i'm sold on this guitar
Most of the D'Angelico are really well made and sound great. Make sure to spend the extra money for the Excell or even Deluxe series.
I would really enjoy a neo soul guitar tutorial. You play the style very well!
I'm already thinking about it 😊
Great sounding guitar, awesome player.
Thank you kindly!
Amazing!👏🏿👏🏿
Mi fai impazzire, suoni in modo magnifico, tu la musica ce l'hai nel sangue, sei eccezionale, hai musicalità, delicatezza, sentimento, forza, istinto... sei una musicista speciale!
Oh wow! Grazie milke, mio amigo de Jazz. 🇦🇹 ♥ 🇮🇹
Looks VERY comfortable, and sounds great!
It is!
Greetings from Serbia! You play excellently, and you presented the guitar very well!
Thank you very much!
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman You wellcome 😘
wow .. I like that guitar .. thanks
Been impressed with D’Angelicos on the whole
I didn't expect that sound from such a small sized guitar. Looks good an you too :-D
I was far interested in you wonderful demonstration of different STYLES as opposed the different settings. Please give us a swing lesson!! I’ve never been that interested until I heard your take!

Hello Sandra, Can you add content on Jimi Hendricks (and/or other artists) and Neosoul lessons to your store? Thank you for reviewing this guitar!
Sandra, haven't seen you in awhile but want to say you look so good, I like your new hair-do. Your playing is as good as ever, sorry to hear about your shoulder.
Welcome back, Dan!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your contribution! I really appreciate it ❤️.
What a great player. So much feel.
😍
Very nice guitar. How much did you have to tweak your amplifier settings to get the jazz sound?
Not at all! I used the same settings. I just turned the volume and tone knob back to about 7-8 to roll back done high end. The Seth Lover pickups really sounds so sweet and jazzy, can't go wrong with them.
Great sound, very beautiful instrument, I currently have an ES 335 but I find that the treble slam a little on the B and E strings. on which amp do you play Sandra in this presentation?
For the YT videos I don't use an amp. I go directly into my soundcard (RME) and use a computer plugin names S-Gear 2. Type " amp settings guitarversum" into the YT search box, to find my video where I show my standard settings for my tutorials! They're based on a small Fender Tweed amp.
In my opinion the D'Angelico "Deluxe" model electric guitars are hidden gems, and I'm so glad you discovered them Sandra! They are a superb combination of Korean and American craftsmanship! I have a Brighton Deluxe natural swamp ash solid body that is the most beautiful guitar I've ever owned by far! Enjoy! 😎
I was surprised by the great quality. I had ordered the Excell certain before and it also had great built quality.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman I bought the "Premier" version of the Mini DC (hoping for a quality semi-hollow at bargain price) and was disappointed to the point that I sent it back. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good enough for me to keep.
Die Gitarre sieht richtig gut aus und klingt auch fantastisch.
Great demo! What amp did you use for this?
I use the S-Gear 2 Software plugin. You can see my setting in a seperate Video. Type "amp settings guitarversum" into the YT search box to find it.
Great playing and nice guitar. Are you using round wounds or flat wounds?
Always round wound Thomastik Infeld Bebop 12s.
Oh look at you, my friend, playing all those other styles!
Wooohooo. You're a true versatile master.
Loved your blues/funk section. 😉🤗
I come from Blues and Funk actually 😊.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Yeah, I know. 😉 I was just recounting it. You play it like a Boss, too! It's been a while, my friend. Hope you're well. 🤗
Every guitar sounds good in YOUR hands 🙂
❤️❤️❤️
Hello,
I really love your work and - thanks to you and your very soft and efficient sense of pedagogy - it's a pleasure when I can think to myself something like "Well, now I can play Moon River not so bad" 😁
May you please tell the right choice between this guitar and the Sire H7 ?
Ha ok... It's a Deluxe. Not yet my range of price.
Hoooo and it's a mini.
Ok I should have asked the same question for a not Deluxe and not mini... And read correctly the title before 😅
Grrrrrreetings from France;
Frederic
D'Angelico has a bunch of non Mini guitars in their range. Their SS series(could stand for Sandra Sherman, lol, but doesn't) is very good.
I ordered a D'Angelico Deluxe Mini DC after watching your video. I once owned a ES-335 which was a beautiful guitar, but it was big and heavy. I'm a small guy. I had been shopping for a good quality, smaller, lighter weight semi-hollow body suitable for jazz and other styles. I could have spent more money for a smaller Gibson but the D'Angelico seems to check all the boxes. I'm looking forward to receiving it.
Hey, I wish you many great hours with it and much fun playing it.
@jimlarkin4669 How do you like the Deluxe Mini DC?
Amazing guitar, more amazing playing 🎉👏🏽
Thanks a lot!
Hi Sandra. Interesting video about a beautiful guitar. But now a somewhat off-topic question. I saw that you are using a Line6 wireless system. I've tested many systems and have not been satisfied with any - way too much noise, too much latency. Is the Line6 system usable for (live) jazz?
No 2.4GHz is for live playing. Too many other items in that range. It's just for home and rehearsal use. Big advantage is it doesn’t need the cable to the transmitter (belt pack). I used to have drop outs when my hubby used the microwave at the same time (its also in the 2.4 GHz range). I changed the router to 5GhZ and now I have no problems at all.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman bloody microwaves! 😂
Hi Sandra. Love your chord melody lessons. Almost got Autumn Leaves . . . I too have shoulder problems. Love the sounds/tones you make in this demo. How does the D’Angelico deluxe mini DC sound acoustically/not plugged in? G
It's not very loud and you couldn't oerform like that, but you can practice unplugged in a silent room.
Thanks Sandra. Trying to track one down . . .
Sandra thak you so much for a great explanation for why you use the Deluxe Mini Dc. I just ordered one from Sweetwater in the US. The are doing a Plek pro set up on it. Could you let me know what kind and gauge strings you prefer on the guitar and how you would describe your preferred action. From your lessons etc. I notice that you seem to use a light touch and still get nice clean notes and tone with no fret buzzing. I've been through many high end semi and hollow jazz guitars and now just want one "Swiss army knife" guitar. I just got tire changing from different size nuts widths and also carrying around boat anchors. Thank you so much for all the time you dedicate making your excellent videos and for providing concise well explained fretboard and theory information. Best wishes Bob
Great choice, Bob! I hope you used my Sweetawater affiliate link from rhe info box 😊. I use gauge 11 strings on this one for a lighter touch. Usually I play 12s. String brand is Thomastik Bebop. My action is oretty low, around 1.5mm
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Sandra, thank you so much for the swift reply. Actually I did click on your info box even though by now I'm on a first name relationship with my sales engineer Dave Hess at Sweetwater. They are a fabulous company. I asked them to put on 11's when they Plek the guitar and I already love the Thomastik strings with low action. I'm anxiously waiting for the guitar to get here. As with most of us guitar maniacs I've had many guitars over the years, 4 Sadowsky's, 4 Benedettos, many Martins, Taylors, PRS, Gibson, Epiphones, Fenders and now at 78 years old I sold off most of them and got the collection down to a Semi-hollow Telecaster, a Gibson G200 acoustic electric, a Taylor Nylon, my beloved Bourgeois GA and now the D'Angelico Deluxe Mini. You will notice that all of the changes are primarily for weight and size reduction. I wish I could loose some of my own weight by selling it off. But that's another story. Weight reduction has now become more important than the quest for magnificent tone. I still take a few lessons locally so I have to carry whatever I'm using to my teachers house. Now living in NJ I get to see a lot of my guitar heroes Frank Vignola, Tommy Emmanuel, John Pizzarelli, Pat Matheny, and many others.. In the 1960's spent many weekends at the incredible Fillmore East and Jazz clubs in the Village. My parents always had all the standards playing at home so at an early age I got to appreciate all of it. I bought most of your lesson packages which allow me to grow and provide me with my daily practice routines. My local teacher has me working through the Mickey Baker books which is quite a mind and finger workout. Hahahaha! But all fun stuff. Thank you again for being there for us providing inspiration and motivation. Best regards, as my wife refers to me crazy Bob 😄🎸
Oh my, I envy you for those guitars :-) Would love to try out a Sadownsky or aeven a Benedetto!
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Yes, they do have a all of that rich jazz tone and all with 1 3/4 inch (52mm) nuts that I prefer because of my arthritic sausage sized fingers' Between the cases and heavy guitar construction they tend to be difficult for me to cary around. This Sadowsky SS-15S (short scale) is pretty light but the case is very heavy and the Benedetto Bravo also heavy and not are sized well for me. So I never take them for lessons and use them at home. With some practice I'm getting used to not squishing the notes the 1 11/16" (42mm) string spacing. I also find that with all of the modelling amps and software I can get most of my guitars , including my Telecaster to sound pretty close the jazz boxes. Years ago a close friend who is a professional sound recording person as well as a musician said that once you put a pickup on any guitar all bets are off. He said that when artists show up to record with very high end archtop or flat top acoustics they never have pickups on them and they use appropriate microphones to capture the sound. At my age everyday brings on a a new life challenge. Hahahaha! But the guitars and music keep me sane. Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to me notes. In the not too distant future my wife and I are planning once again to visit Vienna, one of our favorite beautiful cities, especially the architecture, food and the music. Hopefully I may get to see you at a gig or even meet you for a special lesson. You have become my inspiration and motivation to keep learning. Thank you. Best regards. Bob
Thankyou!
Hi love your videos, I’ve just bought a D’Angelico guitar same as you but a different colour, can I ask your advice about what strings to use on this guitar? Thankyou
Congrats, I play D'addario Bebop strings, gauge 12 or 11.
Can I ask what your setup is for that D’Angelico guitar ? Love your very informative videos, very clear advice and tutorials 😊
What you mean by setup?
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman oh sorry I meant what Amplifier and do you use and any effects. I use an A.E.R Compact 60 👍🎸
Great looking and sounding guitar! Wonder how it compares to the Ibanez Artstar AM153QA?
The Ibanez sounds darker. If you pimp that guitar with better pickups it's a great guitar.
D’Angelico make some beautiful, great quality guitars. I’ve always wanted one. There is a video on CZcams about the History of D’Angelico guitars to D’Aquisto guitars.
Cool, thanks!
Hi Sandra, do you set up your guitars yourself? I am referring to intonation, string height, etc. Thanks!
Yes. But once in a while I have my guitars setup by a luthier. 😊
Great sound! I hope it’s the solution for your shoulder pain. Sorry it’s been such a long journey.
The soliton for my shoulder pain is a great exercise, which solved this 2 year old issue. But this guitar is so comfy, I just can play a lot longer now, before the pain starts.
Hello Sandra, love this video! I was already curious about the Mini DC model and your video definitely motivated me to do more research. Yesterday I got to try one - almost the same as yours but it's called Deluxe Mini DC LE (limited edition) with different pickups (SD antiquity restrospec'd) - at a local store here in Switzerland, and I immediately fell in love with this little beauty. And of course I just had to bring her home! So far I'm really impressed with the build quality and sound. Furthermore, it's made in Korea (my home country) so it's supposed to be great, right? ;-) I tried a Excel version as well and quite liked it, but in the end I went for the Deluxe one. Yours also sounds and looks so beautiful and I'd like to try that one too someday (the store didn't have it). Thanks a lot for the inspiration! Greetings from Zürich :-)
Congrats on your new baby 😍. Glad my video helped with the decision. Is the LE version also Satin (non sticky paint). The neck on mine la so comfy, no more gluey feeling.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Danke! It's gloss on mine but I don't find it sticky at all (well maybe when it's very warm in summer?)
Sandra I am wondering how this D’Angelico Mini Deluxe compares with your Howard Roberts Fusion Guitar. It might be interesting to do a review comparing these two great guitars of yours. What do you think ? Love your Videos !! Thank You so very much.
The D'Angelico sounds brighter for sure. The Gibson is jazzier, but the pickups are a little quackier. I was surprised, when I compared a Seth Lover pickup with my Gibson, how quacky the Gibson sounds. But the overall sound of the Gibson is jazzier and softer.
light weight that's my point, and a good sound for sure, great review 🎸👍🏻
Agreed!
moonlight in vermont, nice
Last week I bought some lessons and I am enjoying it very much. Now, about this guitar, in your video the guitar have some pickups different from specifications and image in d’angelico page, the guitar comes with set lover pickups or Seymour Duncan STK P-90 (Neck) (Cream)?
That depends on the model. I show in the video, that some models have Antiquity pickups, done also habe P90s.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Thanks for your answer. Regards
Beautiful piece, and very nice sounds, but you could make an oil can guitar sound wonderful! I have the Premier DC and love it (less expensive version).
Picked up a B-Stock DC Deluxe (bigger brother)....for under $800 late last year....new in 2018 was $1900. Excellent quality, gorgeous look, and very good tone (not Seth Lovers though). Lefty....so very grateful to D'A. The Eastman is even better IMHO...and less $.
Great sound and performance! What strings gauge on this model?
I play Thomastik Infeld Bebop 12 gauge. I don't know what they came with, bc the first thing I do is change the strings :-D
Hi Sandra, I like the sound of the DV mark little Jazz but there’s too much hiss on the amp so impossible to record with it and I’m precisely looking for a clean bright jazz sounding amp that is affordable do you recommend any other amp ?
I know many... but affordable? Not really. Try the Roland Cube series. The "Black Panel" setting is amazing.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Definitely not what I’m looking for but thanks for your time 😊
Hi, I have both Premier Mini DC and Excel Mini DC
I really love the 339 concept. Small, light, looks great, the best of both worlds of solid and hollow guitars..
But 90% the reason i bought them was the looks. There are some competitors like Ibanez AM / AMH, Hagstrom Alvar, Epiphone /Gibson 339 and even Eastman has a 339 style model. But I can't afford Eastman or Gibson and D'Angelico looks way cooler.
Could not afford Deluxe at the moment, but I'm obsessed with Black guitars with black fingerboards, so only Premier and Excel come in black colors anyway :)
Great guitars, But I noticed they neck-dive a lot. Also the 16" radius of the fretboard, and the flat bridge (to match that 16" radius ), makes more difficult for me to mute the strings than my old 12" Les Paul. I wanted a guitar with a slim neck because i just can't play huge necks.. but afterall it might be too slim for me :) and it is very round C.. Its just not what I'm used to.. I played a LesPaul with a slim D neck for 7 years and that was the only guitar i had.. it takes time to get used to..
Also I Did not like the Hard-Case of Excel, it's so heavy and bulky, probably weights the same as the guitar itself. The Premier comes with a light gigbag, of course the instrument is less protected but feels like a feather after carrying that hardcase of Excel..
The Deluxe has a 12" radius. I've never seen a Les Paul with a slim D shaped neck. The D'Angelico has a rather slim C neck, definitely slimmer than any Les Paul neck, You'll like it.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman I had an Epiphone Custom Pro Les Paul with a (SlimTaper D neck). It's not mutch of a difference from D'Angelico, just a little bit more chunky but it has more flat surface behind which i like.. I already have 2 Dangelico mini dc guitars so i know how it feels :) Of course Deluxe is probably better in all aspects, Mine are premier and excel
I love you playing!
Thank you kindly, my friend!
Sandra, you world treasure, I would also try the Gibson or Epiphone Johnny A. 5000/1200. Both great small jazz guitars. What is different is the 25.4 scale. Those are hard to find but amazingly great jazz babies
I didn't know those. Interesting. Will check Em out, although I prefer short scale lengths.
I find that long scale is a lot more tuning stable and I double on keyboards back and forth, so that became an issue.
D’Angelico makes some of the prettiest guitars. They sound great. Especially if you can play like her. 😊
I agree 😊. Thanks ❤️
Nice guitar! How is the balance of the guitar when playing it without a strap while sitting?
Thanks, Frankie D ✌️😎🎸

No problem at all.
Great! Thanks! ✌️😎🎸
I'm curious if you looked at the Ibanez AM2000H. Made in Japan, thin hollow body, 13.75 lower bout.
No, haven't seen it here. But sounds interesting.
Have you tried playing while standing with a guitar strap? I’m wondering if that guitar has neck dive like many of their other guitars.
It does a bit, but it never really bothered me.
BTW I forgot to tell you, many years ago I injured my right shoulder real bad and I started to play my guitar sitting down in the classical style, left foot on foot stand guitar on left leg. The shoulder was not involved at all and to this dfay that is how I play but then again I am not a professional guitarist who gigs so I do not need to worry about standing up. I know you gig a lot but when not gigging, the classical style may help at least until your shoulders heal. Take care...
