My university had a really nice music and arts program and students are always looking for experience to add to their resume/portfolio!

My boyfriend and I are little babies (we will be 20 and 21 when we get married) so we would much rather put our money into a down payment for an apartment, grocery money, savings, etc. Ofc it's gonna be a special day, but there are just better ways to put that money into our future. We'll definitely use some of these!
We were lucky to find a venue that caters and does open bar. We limited our guest list to around 100 people to keep cost down. But for $70 a person we can get dinner, open bar for 4 hours for each person, a champagne toast, and a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres. Then it’s $750 to rent the space for our ceremony and reception. It just worked the best for us because everything is included right there and it’s a hotel and casino so all of our guests from out of town can be close as well. The bride and groom also get a complimentary room the night of the wedding.

If you have a garden anyway, consider growing straw flowers. They look as good dried as they do fresh, and they come in a wild assortment of colors, to match any wedding. Sola flowers, too, are pretty cheap and can be sold afterwards.

My friends paid $100/plate for their wedding in PA, and they said that was considered lower end. It’s crazy what these places charge!
