To be fair he doesn’t get the time to know Lisa enough to realize that. With Kelly it was working out fine, just that he made the smart move in realizing that it wouldn’t really go any farther.

@Andrew Smith Because he certainly doesn't resist her when she makes advances toward him. He did not have to date her at all if he did not want to.
@Andrew Smith Even if that's true, I think his feelings could easily have developed. He stopped thinking about Lisa while he was dating Kelly. If he seemed displeased by her attraction, it's only because he felt guilt because she had been a love interest of Zack, but I think if Zack had told him he was okay with it, then Screech may have taken it further. They did share an interest in science, even if Screech was better at it than Kelly.
@Andrew Smith Yes, he may have been more in love with Violet than with Kelly. They did have more interests in common, and dated longer than he did with Kelly. Kelly continued to be kinder to Screech and more accepting of his goofiness than the other main characters, perhaps because she remembered the short time that she was attracted to him, and that during that time she had seen his good points, where other people only saw him as goofy.
@Andrew Smith No, we don't, that's why I think it was a mistake for them to write her out with no explanation. There should at least have been an explanation, such as her family moved to a different town.

The plot is that Zack and Kelly are getting married, but the plot twist is that this is like a GOT-style wedding with Kelly being both the only one who survives and the mastermind behind the whole affair. The final words she has when she looks into the camera at the end is "Looks like garbage day came early."
Bruce Parker taking it into very dark and gritty territory? Well that would be a very dramatic change in tone.

This episode should’ve gave Screech an irreversible cool factor that even Zack would be jealous of vs returning him to his weirdo sidekick status in later episodes.

Its funny In real life Screech grew up to become a complete jerk, and Zack became a nice family man.

What's funny is that Kelly hanging with Screech made me love Screech even more than I already did. RIP Dustin Diamond
It seemed like they had a certain rapport, and sympathy with each other that made their short relationship endearing. I never liked the logic in this episode that Kelly and Screech couldn’t have a lasting relationship because they didn’t have enough interests in common, yet it was fine for Screech to keep pursuing Lisa even though they had no interests in common either, and she kept rejecting him.

One of the reasons I was and still more of a fan of Screech. He may be a nerd and goofy, but he is genuine and tries to legitimately help out others as Zack always has an angle and thinks of no one else but himself. Even though they didn't get to go with Kelly, at least Zack and Slater both did get what they wanted in the end. Although, they were the ones being assholes.

@@nancyhey1012 Lisa being a bad match doesn't mean Kelly is a good match. Him liking Lisa is just part of the running humor on the show. It's not an uncommon feature in shows to have someone obsessed with someone who doesn't like them. Charlie and the waitress is another example
