I have to say, I’ve been feeling defeated lately struggling to find the balance of parenting three young children as a stay at home mom (1 infant, 1 toddler, 1 grade school) while also trying to resell full time. It almost felt impossible until I found your channel to see that it’s doable 😊 Pleeaseee keep the videos coming, they are so relatable, entertaining and helpful!
I’ll be here as often as I can be! ❤️
Exact same here! I have a 1 year old 6 year old and 8 year old. I homeschool the older kids. I absolutely love reselling and we are trying to get out of debt so I have to keep going but finding them time sometimes is difficult! It helps to see how others schedule their days!
I’m in the same boat homeschooling 3 littles (7 and under) and trying to start up something to help our family become debt free. One day at a time!
Thank you ladies. I’ve been sitting on the fence about beginning this journey. My grandmother lived with me for the past six years. I care give her as she had Alzheimer’s. I tried starting a couple times, and it was just too hard or at least that’s what I told myself. Every time I get the motivation to begin my grandmother would end up in the hospital and all motivation went out the window. Couple days ago I found your channel and my grandmother unfortunately passed away this past February. I decided to sell my home, move and downsize. I have a good size amount of debt as I only worked part time while I was caregiving for her and did odd jobs on the side unfortunately, living like that does create that does create debt. So with finding your something inside of me said, now is the time. I’m not gonna officially open my store until I am moved that being sad I’ve committed I wasn’t going to do a niche store. After watching a few of your episodes that has changed. So I’m gonna use this time from now till I moved into my new place (which won’t take long, homes where I live sell in matter of days) then it’s right to business. So thank you for the motivation because my son is 17 and it’s only him and I besides a couple pets I’m excited I’m motivated now and I actually think after reading some of the comments I’ve kept most of my fear to the curb look forwardto future videos, and who knows maybe you’ll see me on here in the future. Happy happy reselling. Have a great day.
@@denisem5541 best of luck on your new journey!!
I love reselling jeans 😍👏 such an underrated category! Love that y’all focus on them 🥳
Love this. Will you do a video on jean brands that are most profitable for you. Your channel is awesome!!
Love how you show your day with it. Thrifting takes alot of our time. But is fun.
Please continue with your CZcams videos they are a lifeline to me right now. Trying to boost my side hustle with eBay and you keep giving me the motivation and goal. You inspire me to follow my passion. So many thanks Carrie x
This is fantastic to hear! I’m trying my best to be the best example I can be and provide as much solid information as I can. 🙏
Love all of your different video types! I’m starting to dabble more in selling pants/jeans so love seeing what you pick up
Glad you like them!
Your Goodwill retail prices are actually decent! I wish ours were comparable 😢 great video!
Same! I'm in NH and our goodwill stores sell jeans starting at $22! It's discouraging 😔
@@fafac1982 oh man! It’s pretty crazy when some of Goodwill prices surpass Marshall’s and Ross prices. Thank god for the bins 😂
I love these shorter videos
😮😮😮 said no one EVER! BRING it with the long videos
@@lexigoodnight to each their own
Love your videos! Wow, you guys are thrifting machines.
We try!
Just liked and subscribed! Lots of effort nice to see
I just started reselling last summer after graduating high school, and now I am reselling out of my college dorm so I have my store at over 100% sell through rate with limited space and nearly 500 listings. I focus mainly on men’s clothing but I will go through the women’s jeans and pants because they are less style dependent as women’s tops. Women’s jeans are actually my 4th best category in my store.
Anyway, I noticed you pick up certain cuts of Democracy, NYDJ, and Urban Pipeline jeans, and Im assuming there are many other common brands where certain styles do well that act as bread and butter that other resellers pass over. Basically, I would normally pass over these brands but I was wondering if you could do a video or guide on basic brands that do well in certain styles. I know this information may have been hard for you to obtain so I understand if you wouldn’t want to share this knowledge you worked hard to get, but I think the most useful knowledge when it comes to reselling is knowing certain tiny pieces of bad brands that actually sell well, which can lead you to finding more items than the competition.
Thanks,
Gabe.
That's awesome! Sounds like you're on the right path!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
I’m an eBay seller, and sell all things kids- clothing, toys, shoes, plush, etc. I sell a few other categories, too. Just trying to expand my knowledge, because I’m going to full time selling June 1st.
You’re doing great, and I love seeing your whole family working and playing together! ❤
Thank you! Best of luck June 1st!
I had two more questions, if you don't mind: 1. What size poly-mailers do you use to ship? 2. What is your standard ad rate, and do you promote everything, or are you selective?
I really appreciate these videos and your generosity with sharing the information. Some resellers don't like this, but as a long-time Amazon and Ebay seller myself (mainly media), I know the truth is sourcing and selling clothing (like media) is low-margin, daily hard work; a grind. People get motivated, then they peel off. It is not for lazy or pessimistic personality types. Best of luck to you in the years to come. Your CZcams channel should continue to grow and become a real source of income for you in the future.
Thank you! My bags are 12x18 and my average promoted rate is 6%. I do minima 2% promotion on things that don’t really need promotion but I just don’t like seeing the “x amount of listings can be promoted” section on ebay. Lol
I started reselling all different types of things I find at yard sales and goodwill especially clothing, shoes, vintage items and household items almost two years ago as a hobby and to make some profit of course. I love it and have learned so much through reseller videos. Yours are interesting as I just found you recently because you’re almost strictly jeans! I rarely pick up or look for jeans but I have been looking more since I found your videos and our goodwill is either not good brands or so expensive for good brands in NJ! $12+ for jeans. I will look at yard sales as they start up though! There’s one bins store 30 mins away I have to try out soon!
You do amazing with sales but do you ever think you’ll get bored only selling jeans?
Been selling jeans for a couple years now! I don't get bored making money :)
the way I would have made those Sailor Moon jeans fit me if they weren't my size.... 🤣
Great video!
Thank you for watching!
I'm soooo inspired with how fast you list, Carrie! When you drop your packages in the back of the PO, do they scan it or they just wheel it into the back? Awesome video, love seeing how well you and your family all work together...and your kitty reminds me of my kitty! 🥰
They wheel it all on and scan it when the bucket gets full or if they have some free time. I’ve tried delivering to the counter and got told several times to drop it off in the back. I think that post office gets lots of ebay packages lol
@@carrieathome got it! that was alot of packages, no wonder they say take it to the back! Our post office is always short on employees so they don't always scan while i'm there. Makes me nervous! Thanks for the info, Carrie!
You are so beautiful I just have to say! I think you are inspiration to us fellow reselling mother’s. Thank you:).
Thank you so much! I’d love to inspire you all ❤️
I'll have to deep dive into Democracy because I've passed over it. Thanks for the video!😊
How do you get the photo library on the side of your screen to see all the photos while you list? Love all your videos!
I import photos from my phone onto my computer using a cable and I split the screen with the photos and ebay site :)
Beautiful
If you ever find vintage BB jeans from the mid to late 70’s I’d be very interested
Would love a deep dive into NYDJ I find it often NWT I’m just Leary
👍👍
I see yall finding all that denim at the bins . I’m lucky to find 5 pairs. Well done
Thanks! Sometimes we find 5 too lol it just depends on the batch for the day
Do you source jeans at yard sales also? Awesome video!
We're going to try yard sale-ing this year!
Don't let these people sway you Carrie. Your long videos are awesome. I appreciate them all.
I asked on another comment but it was an older video, I know it's too much to keep up with but do you have a video of your photo set up? Or a post in the group about how it's at the height. I am very interested in how it's at the height it's in. I have the same vertical flat lay but the angle I have to use a hanger which kills time. How is your photo set up at that height. I'd love to know more. Thanks I love your videos keep them coming!
Thank you! I really don’t have much control over how long my videos are right now since I’m still new at this. lol
I don’t have a video about your photo setup but I will try to include it in a video or make a short of it!
definitely love selling the democracy camos, sold 3 pairs for over $30 each time. how often do you guys source?
Nice! We source every day :)
Love your content! Question: I live in the middle of Idaho - cows and farm country. Tons of Wrangler , Lee, not much high end brands. Are they good to source ? Not much else in the way of pants, Levis of couse too
I’d say close to 1/3rd of our store is just Levis. You could likely just do that brand and have success with it.
Yup, what Kyle said! Just figure out the profit margin and sell thru on what’s in your area and you’ll find what sells for good money.
There are some facebook groups that are good for reselling those. I know one that just sells the Rocky Mountain Jeans and they go for $60-$120
I have Started Niching down into certain areas, Like Cameras, Toys, Shoes, Clothing, Collectables. Things that have worked best for me. Would it be Beneficial to niche down to a single category for a certain amount of time until i have Learnt enough. E.G - i have a good Knowledge of cameras and what to look for but They are not easiest thing to find.
So was thinking of doing a Trial Week where i focus on just Buying items dedicated to a certain niche. It is a lot harder reselling in The UK but am doing the most i can each day.
Great sourcing video as always! By selling so much daily can I ask how many returns do you average a month? Thanks again for making these videos!
I fluctuate between 4-6% return rate and about half of them get returned, the rest time out and close.
How do you list so quickly. 30 listings would take me most of the day.
I shared my listing process in my previous video! 😁
i can only cross post 15 a day. I copy and paste alot of it and im still slow.
I did 32 listings in less than 2 hours this morning, and I’m going back to list more later.
When you say “listing” I find that the term has Widely different meanings depending on who says it. For one person it might mean the time it takes to wash and dry the item, photograph it, research the selling price, entering the listing in the computer/phone and putting it away in inventory. For yet another person it might just refer to entering the listing in ebay only! Apples and Oranges my friend! That’s why some can list 30 items per hour and for others it takes a good chunk of the day to list that many!
@@debbieholt8261 listing means actually listing the items on whatever platform you sell on.
Hi Carrie. Great content. As a one man army with 2 kids (8 and 3) the hustle is hard! I do have a question. I too sell nothing but jeans. However I only sell womens jeans. I do have a question. When using ebay to ship what dimensions do you use when shipping out using USPS ground and using poly mailers? All my items fit in a 12x9 Poly. Do you measure each individual package after getting it ready? Or do you go based off the poly size BEFORE putting item in bag. I think I've been doing it wrong. I always do 12x9x1 even though package size varies after getting it ready. TIA.
I figured out what the average package size and average weight was and used that average as a preset in my shipping details. Any outlier packages get custom dimension and weight inputs but 90% of my packages are all the same size and weight. Hope this helps!
Yes very helpful. I noticed an average size and weight mine as well and it makes total sense to set up with those. Thanks!@@carrieathome
When you look for comps do you always filter your area or no? Or What do you filter to make sure it has a 50% STR or more? Thanks
I don’t filter by location if I have an item in my hand. I only filter my location when I’m researching.
Hello 🎉
Can you please make a video about jeans brands that are selling now.
@carrieathome Do you wait at the post office for all of your packages to get scanned?
The post office picks up at our house and they scan at our house everyday. This time around we dropped them off at the post office because we didn’t want to leave a bunch on our porch without us being home. They want us to dump it all in the back lol
Carrie what kind of lights do you recommend? I’m looking for a new set on Amazon. 😊
I have 5500k daylight bulbs for my umbrella lights!
Do you guys drive to new thrift stores often or do your local thrifts restock fast enough? I feel like with the amount you guys bring home, they might run out of good stock and take a second to replenish.
It depends on how often donations are being made. Our thrift stores turnover a lot of stock everyday which helps but we try to only hit a store no more than two times a week.
Our good wills used to be cheap under $6 a pair of jeans. Now they’re up at 8.99
$8.99 isn’t too bad for some brands!
thats not bad! Here in Florida the jeans are 11.99 and up!! I have to be very picky in the regular goodwills or try to get the half off color. I try to source the bins for jeans/pants as much as I can too.
@@brush412 eeesh really? That’s insane.
Jeans at my goodwills are 9.99 and 11.99 wth
Your area is more cheaper than my area. My area cost of jeans are now $12.99 or more. 😢😢😢
Great video. How does anyone find your store with so many listings. Thanks in advance I have Parkinson's disease and really need to work from home.
I’m starting a new store over that you can follow along with! It’s in my channel description:)
Will you list the Camo democrat Jeans in1 listing or 2 separate?
Separate!
Does your store do so well because of your CZcams channel or was it already doing well before the channel? Just curious. I’m blown away by your sell through rate.
I’ve been selling for over two years and I started my CZcams two months ago. My first year I did over $100k in sales solo. $240k sales in my second year with my husband. Currently on track for $300k sales this year. I have noticed no significant surge in sales since starting my CZcams channel.
@@carrieathome phenomenal!
@@DustyOU812 thank you 😊
Do you wash the clothes before selling? All my goodwill clothes stinky of disinfectant. Do customers ever complain?
Yup! Washing used clothes is also ebay policy
How much do you all do for promoted listings? Do you think it helps alot vs not promoting?
Promoted averages out to 6% and I do think it helps move items faster but it’s not needed
With the volume that you sell, how many returns do you get on average a day or week? I know you do free returns and I'm trying to make the jump to offer this to sellers.
For me, about 4-6% of orders have a return request and about half of those actually get returned.
What are the jeans priced at in your location. Here in Colorado they went up to 12.99
They fluctuate between $6 all the way up to $22. There’s no standardized pricing my area, unfortunately.
Good to know. Thanks!
how often do you thrift/bins... daily?
Everyday!
Can you do an asmr video on that keyboard lol
Ooooo that would be nice!
Hi Carrie I know you've probably gonna over this many times in the past but I was wondering if you could tell me again! What profit margin do you aim for and what is your shipping like that you have set up? Thanks in advance!
I aim for $15 profit and I charge a flat rate shipping fee :)
@@carrieathome thank you so much!
What do you suggest for return or no returns on ebay?
I do 60 day free returns because I want more customers to buy from me :)
@@carrieathome thanks for the reply!

What type of Levi's sell the most
I'd say most men's Levi's jeans sell well vs the womens Levi's
How many active listins do you have in your store?
We fluctuate between 1800-1900 active items
@@carrieathome oh my goodness id love to be able to get to 500 right now but it seems like our god wills are terrible here. I’m lucky if i get 7 pairs of jeans at one GW

Glad you're enjoying it! I don't share my main store but I am sharing a secondary store in bio!
I keep finding 501xx's is that good ?
They’re ok!

What is your eBay store? Do you not publicize that?

Pretty easy to work out from previous videos!
what name brands very good
Levi's is a great brand!
is that mail returns?
Yup!
@@carrieathome I always immediately block buyers who return items. I have very clear pictures and measurements. My list is long.
What are the pros and cons of only sourcing, selling, listing jeans?
I realize that’s a lot to answer. I watch all of your videos so if you want to address it in the next one it’s understandable
It’s not so much that I chose jeans, it’s just that I chose a niche to focus on. Choosing a niche helped me get deep understanding of how to sell that niche well and keep my focus on that niche. The cons are that I don’t know as much in other niches but soon I’m planning on jumping into another niche to start learning :)
Cool
Thanks for watching!
