What a fun junk journal design! It would be easier for you to use washi and tape each piece to the table (like taping dies in place before running them through a Bigshot) before using that bandage tape to tape your spine seams to the cover sides. Just stick the washi onto your skin, pull it off, and then tape your pieces down to proceed.
