Kat and Emmit both use powers to combat the wild, mindless creatures created by the very same powers they use themselves. Its like "Fighting Fire with Fire" and of course, Emmit has trouble keeping his powers in check and Kat barely knows how to use her powers without messing up every now and again, and of course can't use them on her own. So their rivalry is the "Pot calling the Kettle Black"
Y'know, Kat's better off going up against Cornal Radec. Why?

In both cases, it's Kat thinking that Emmett is a Nevi, the enemy species from her own series while Emmett thinks that Kat's lack of control over her powers makes her a dangerous threat to society.
I can relate to Emmet. To me, Power only leads to greed & corruption. Therefore, I would only use those as a last resort.

I got to disagree yes Emmett can be a ass sometimes but I think anyone would be like that after you killed your undead brother. Also Emmett thinks Kat is dangerous because she don't have full control of her powers she replies that she is only trying to help people. Emmett takes this as her wanting more power which makes sense in Kat's intro she is eager to have more power. So you want more power but you haven't mastered your current power? Ya I think I'm going to side with Emmett on this one.

I commented on another video saying that almost every character seems like the good guy in their own rival cutscene, while their rival seems like an ass. After seeing Emmet's and Kat's, I make an exeption with them... Emmet's just an ass!
