    My uncles were out driving near Balinasloe one time and picked up a scruffy looking hitchhiker who turned out was Mick. This during the height of Glenroe. Said he was lovely and gas altogether.

    Mick could also have played Fagin in Oliver Twist dressed like that , wonderful actor and sadly missed

    That story is similar to a man I used to drink with in Birmingham, England. Just knew him as Tipp. He had went out one Saturday to buys steaks 40 years prior. Like many a man ended up in the pub and woke up on the boat heading for England. And NEVER went back to his wife and children. Something really tragic about that.

      i added a reply and said the irish buuilt this country motorways,buildings and laid all the cables,and the irishnurses worked in all the hospitals,millions irish over here doing all the work,never got no thanks for it ,when they say how england was built we got no mention,so annoying,we were not wanted here,the lazy lot here wouldent work in a fit,but we kept going having a good craic all the time,i know a lot of the lads never went home,as they say the craic was good in cricklewood,god bless the irish we lost a lot on the way
