Hi you beautiful people 😁 In case you didn't know, this is the rendition of a cover by British band 'Sulpher', which is very different from his 1994 release 'Sacrifice' (or Dawn as it was in the States. The look on Mike's face @ 4:40 mark 😎 The synth melody here is pure 😍 There's plenty of hard hitting numbers by Gary (When the sky bleeds he comes, Jagged, Halo, Noise Noise) that exhibit the Numan formula. That last comment of "Ginger likes it hard" followed by Ginger's 'cheeky, but true' response is gold 😅♥️
Thanks guys. To be fair he doesn’t go this guitar heavy much. The original track is from his 1994 album “Sacrifice” and has nowhere near the same level of rockiness to it. I knew this would be more Ginger. One for Mike next time you are ready would be “Pray For The Pain You Serve - Live at the Brixton Academy. It’s on Gary’s CZcams page under the ‘Live Tracks’ bit. You will both love it but definitely more a Mike track. czcams.com/video/nEVH1ASmw9U/video.html
Hi Guys if you get a chance check out Gary Numan Big noise transmission It's on his album Dead son rising, Loving your Numan content big love from the uk ❤
I’m determined to find Mike a new favourite given this was more in Ginger’s favour. So I’ll take you back to a song released in 1979 before AFE? and Cars. Performed live in 2017 in London. Be prepared for Godlike adoration from the crowd for what ‘most’ Numan fans (including myself) would call their favourite EVER Numan track. Long before Bladerunner, Numan sings of Machmen, Replicans and Machines controlling the world. czcams.com/video/5C86Q9FukYE/video.html
As others have said, this is Gary covering another band's cover of his own song. I suggest you try listening/reacting to the ORIGINAL, which is quite different. It's from the 1994 album "Sacrifice", which was Gary's "rebound" album. After his previous album he was teetering on bankruptcy with no recording contract. So he literally went to his shed in his back garden (where he'd set up a studio) and put together an entire album ALL BY HIMSELF. Every instrument, every vocal, the works. And then created his own record label to sell it. It worked and it rejuvenated his career.
Some thing to check out, if you haven’t: Thrice - Red Sky, or Touché Amore- Limelight. Both bands have recently done projects with Manchester Orchestra (limelight includes MO), or Paris Jackson - eyelids (also with Andy hull)
Right?!😅 go back & listen to his earliest and think Nine Inch Nails and you’ll be “OMG. Yes. Of course!” It’s differences of instrumentation, and of course voice. Can do same and think Devo, Nomi, …
This is not the original version of bleed, listen to BLEED ON EXILE ALBUM YOU WILL HEAR THE ORIGINAL VERSION. I have seen numan play this live a couple of times boy oh boy it blew my head of absolutely amazing when he plays it live like that.
Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one and sometimes they stink. And there's always somebody willing to show theirs whether you want to see it or not.
The man can still rock even after all these years
Just saw him last night in Portland! The man is still kicking ass!
