I'm nearly fifty, raised by my grandparents, and I can tell you from experience that the things old people do to carrots - vegetables in general - are just heinous. Mushy flavorless childhood memories of carrots.

I'm shocked mushrooms aren't on there. They are one of my favorites now, any kind, but I know sooooo many people who will not eat them and they are in a lot of dishes
On pizza or breaded and deep fried or sauteed with onions with steak they are good. I like canned better than freah.

Mushrooms are the best, I can straight up eat them by themselves raw or from a can. Also love okra. Boiled, fried, or pickled. I think for the people who don't like them, it's a texture thing. Must have worked in reverse for me, because I LOVE the texture of them!

Raw carrots are great. Especially dipped in peanut butter. Pickled or fermented carrots are also very good snacks. But my favorite is roasted or boiled carrots. When I make soups and stews, I always put in extra carrots for myself.

It's the only thing I crave regularly and the only food I'm willing to treat myself to!
Whenever you go to a restaurant, order pasta or pizza, and think, "Why can't my tomato sauce taste this good?" It's because they added a minced anchovy to the sauce. That umami flavor really makes the sauce pop.
As someone who eats olives daily, I am shocked it’s number one 😂 my entire family loves them so I’ve never known differently.

As a Greek that eats anchovies regularly, I can tell you that they are A LOT better over here! Freshness and the saltiness of the Mediterranean sea does make a difference.
I really want to try fresh ones! I do like them here but obviously they aren't the good ones. I still take please in being the only one willing to try them in home ec class in middle school and everyone else trying after me bc I said it was good....they didn't trust me after that

It doesn't even have to be fish, you can have chicken sushi. My favourite is chicken karaage & mayo sushi, it's Japanese fried chicken basically.
When I first went to a sushi restaurant, I was hesitant to try the raw sushi, but after I tried the salmon I loved it.

Anchovies are commonly used in Caesar Salad dressing and worchestershire sauce, to give a savory flavor(umami). Not many people eat the anchovy by itself.
Right. I can't do anchovies whole, but they're really good in cooking to get that umami that makes food so good.
I personally will take bread dough and dig holes all over it. I will then fill the holes with garlic, parmesan, and anchovies; and fry it in the oven in olive oil. Think of it like a saltier/slightly fishy garlic bread

Guys, guys, what you're having are salt cured anchovies though. Fresh anchovies are indeed creamy and delicious - and you can have them deep fried, sautéed with tomatoes or even raw (marinated in lemon juice and olive oil). They're so good... But then again, as an Italian I love the salt cured version too 😄

I love olives, specially green olives, but I have to say I've tried them in other countries and they were nasty, so maybe the processing done in each place and the quality of the product really affects the taste.
