Props to Jay Blades. I don't know him, but somehow, I'm proud of him and happy for him.
... but he's thick
@@guff9567 that is an awful thing to say. I suggest you look the man up before you open your mouth!!
@@estherwhalley4729 My wife is so thick, words to her are mere: "zig-zags". You have to understand what humans as. They are mere code processing apparatuses. Nothing more. If you can't do that, you're no human.
@@guff9567 I feel sorry for you and your wife. Limited comprehension, therefore you are no longer human. Goodbye.
@@estherwhalley4729 you tell them ❤️
I have a lot of respect for your efforts and it's lovely to see how supportive your partner and kid are ♥️

I have the same thing, its called IRLEN SYNDROME, A form of dyslectic .
I didn't know until I was 60 years old, I have always slipped through the cracks, GOOD FOR YOU
So awesome
So impressed with your tenacity Jay. Love watching you on the repair shed. But my opinion of you have gone up 200% now. Keep on keeping on you’re one in a million ! Love from New Zealand. ( but originally south London girl ) 🥰
I advocate termination of pregnancy for this type
Bravo!

Heart warming and it brings a tear to my eyes when he reads to his daughter. So lovely to see. Well done you Jay!
very inspiring
Good for you. Your effort will help others. What a wonderful gift you're giving.
Jay Blades God was showing off when you were made.
You are a Total Rockstar for being beyond Brave.
You will never know the amount of boy, girls and adults to speak up and learn to read.
Books are my friends,
curled up on a sofa is my idea of Heaven ♡
Australia.
Blue filters were an absolute game changer for our family. Learning to read meant the world...💙
Just watch this programme mind me cry as I have dyslexia so proud of Jay thank you 👍
Amazing. Jay is such an inspiration. Thank you for raising awareness of dyslexia. My 9 year old has recently discovered he is dyslexic too. He uses the same colour overlay as Jay and it has made a huge difference to his confidence and enthusiasm for reading tasks.
Wonderful Jay, I teach reading to children who find reading a challenge. Bless you loved your reading.
Your a star king
I hope US viewers will be able to see this soon, an incredible story. So proud of Jay, who is so warm, inviting, and sympathetic on Repair Shop. To be this open about a reading disability is so important to people who are dealing with the same. Well done Jay!
I also have dyslexia. I learned to perceive words as a painting with different contours was because I spell words better and then the reading also came into place. I think it is very individual what kind of tools you should use to get rid of your dyslexia. The paintings were my tool because I just love art and my brain accepted it.
Do I have to dilute paint to create your famous upward dribbles on chair legs ? If so what with? X😘😘
spotted DJ Spoony there!!
I also wanted on till I left school to get help it’s sad that we we’re just placed in a classroom and left to get on with it.
I can only imagine what this newfound tool (of using shades of plastic over text) could do for others worldwide. How have we not had this information before? I sincerely hope that this can help everyone who struggles with dyslexia.
Sorry spelling mistake sorry but hope you get my point
What a lovely guy. So honesty in this programme. I love his motivation, drive, determination. My takeaway from this programme: that many people who go wayward and that are perceived to be lagging behind in society wouldn't be if they had the right support from early on. That it's never too late to turn your life around, whether it's from an educational or mental health stance.
Apparently he's got a bachelor's degree in dust blowing.
I'm a avid reader they say I could have dyslexia I have a vocab of 20 00 thousand words he is articulate and well educated I have no exam passes but yet have good knowledge love reading but when I read a loud I get nervous but then one to one I read well words are important oral or written emojis do not give us importance of word he's articulate many dyslexixc peoole are very clever
If you can read well on your own it probably isn't dyslexia. Maybe some sort of anxiety of public demonstration? I went once on local television for an interview for an highschool project and started stuttering and repeating the same answers of a colleague of mine before me... And that was baffling for me since I had theatre lessons for over 3 years and even though I'm an introvert I always managed talking to a public.
@@MindMaelstrom thank you I'm really pleased about what you said your really articulate and make excellent points I do have aniexty issues.but I love reading and words in general at school my teacher said you have a talking skill she was right when people listen you tend to relax more.when people are rude and ignoring your conversation we close in more I think communication skills are still important even as more of it goes on the net it still something we will allways need everyone had something interesting to say I'm sure of it nonverbal ways like emojis only work in a very basic way and even are more complex than spoken and written words
@@MindMaelstrom you sound like an amazing person
I wonder what I can do for my Dyscalculia
Euthanasia
How did Jay Blades pass his driving test if he couldn't read? Surely in the test he'd be asked to read a number plate to the examiner and understand road signs - many of which have text and numbers on them.
What about his glasses? If prescription, how did he get his eyes tested? You have to read letters. I'm intrigued by all this.
People with very low functional literacy often memorize the meanings of signs by shape, so road signs are not as big a stumbling block as you would think. That said, he might not have his driving license; it isn’t that uncommon for people in the UK not to. In terms of eye tests, one, he probably knew the names of letters, and two, he could tell the examiner that he is dyslexic and they can fit him based on perceived blurriness- actually being able to read the letters aloud isn’t very relevant for an eye exam.
@@n-gauge-us5219 very interesting, thank you for your reply. He can drive from what I've seen. He was filmed driving a car on the BBC programme about his dyslexia.
As a dyslexic, finding out I had dyslexia was a major moment in my life. It made everything that had happen to me make sense. This is so inspirational.
I have dyspraxia, common comorbidity of dyslexia.
How did he get a job at BBC if he can’t even read …. I WONDER !!! Tick tick tick
Probably got info that can send some people to jail.
I thought he hosted a show that involved repairing items. That’s his specialty. I’m not sure why having Dyslexia would disqualify him from that job. It’s not like he’s reading the news or anything, is it?
Next is learn to pronounce words properly.
So how does he read auto cue … story is total bull
Why are you not reporting on the 50,000 Canadian Truckers?
The ones struck by vaccine rules and fomented by far right for an insurrection?
Because this isn't the BBC news page......or Canada...
Because they're a bunch of fecal stains
No offense but this is Boring
Yep watched some of this snooze fest last night, dull as dishwater
@@andychapman1507 hahaha yea for sure
@@TransVangal funny what wokeism deems as quality entertainment oh here's someone with dyslexia as an adult learning to read??? Yeh I'll be rushing to the TV...
