This is awesome! Is there a way you can add a 60fps version?

      or a 4K 60 version?

Rendering already takes a significant amount of time (and electricity!) To make a 60fps version, I have to render twice as long. To make a 4k version, the frame size is twice the height, and twice the width, or 4 times the area. Meaning, rendering takes 4 times as long. To make a 4k 60 fps version, I would have to render 4*2, or 8 times as long. That means render time for a single, 1-minute video jumps from a little over a day, to a bit more than a week. Someday I will go back and redo these, and I may opt for a higher res at that point, but for now, I'm just trying to catch back up to the number of designs the church has released. I am still about 8 or so behind right now.

@@BrianOlsonPhotogent I hear you man! I have an RTX 3070 and I’ve played with blender, and I know that those things would really increase the time, but I was not aware of the scale.
No clue it would take a full week!
What kind of hardware are you running? Can we get you an upgrade?

@@BrianOlsonPhotogent one quick and dirty option is to render at 30fps and then interpolate. I have interpolation software called svp4 I think. It’d be far from perfect though.

I have a set of 4 Nvidia RTX 2080s. I've thought about upgrading, but worry that right now the market is flooded with cards that are essentially useless because they have been burned out by bitcoin mining. That, and the 4000 series is supposed to drop soon. I also worry that the new cards are so much bigger that I would have to use less of them. I don't want to replace 4 cards with 1 card and risk an actual drop in performance. Although, Cycles X in the new version of blender can't use multiple cards yet anyway, so swapping out just one might still be in increase.
As for using an interpolation software, my concern there is that the alternating frames would lack crispness, causing an issue like the old interlacing patterns on TVs. I figure interpolating every other frame would cause you to lose that sharp edge look that 60fps is intended to give you.

I find people submit fairly regular updates of the construction process here: churchofjesuschristtemples.org/farmington-new-mexico-temple/photographs/
