Here we have a very nice set of High Rise Westies located in what is the tallest building I was able to get into while in Cleveland! These elevators are the 3rd set of Westies I rode on this trip to go up over 30 floors, and aside from the Sheraton in Baltimore being the exception, I haven't seen ANY High Rise Westies from the 80s in YEARS!!! (The last ones I remember riding prior to these and those were at the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta, and before that the Marriott World Center in 2010 or 11.) Needless to say, riding these definitely felt quite nostalgic, however, unlike those other 80s Westies I mentioned, these elevators DON'T have analog indicators! Yup, thats right! These are my VERY FIRST Westinghouse Elevators with DIGITAL LCD Floor Indicators and depending on my luck, these may or may not be my last as they've gotten to be pretty rare! This building was built in 1983 and these elevators are obviously original from then, I find it to be quite amazing that these elevators have LCD Indicators given their age. They look almost like "Series 7" Indicators even though they aren't and they're much older! Aside from the indicators, the Type A/AE fixtures on these are pretty nice and are in EXCELLENT Condition, and all in all these elevators are holding together pretty well 40 years after their original 1983 installation. These do go a bit slow for 31 floors, and I do like the Gulf Tower Elevators in Pittsburgh more than these, but overall, these elevators are still pretty cool, they're beautiful, they're in excellent condition and fully original. What's not to love?
And with that, I hope you enjoy the video!
    Installed in 1983.

Those look super cool. The James Center in Richmond used to have very similar elevators before they got an Otis mod.

FINALLY!!! Someone managed to find ACTUAL Westinghouse Selectomatic Mark Vs and get a video of them on CZcams! These kinda remind me of the Westinghouse elevators at One Oxford Center in downtown Pittsburgh before they got modded. I wonder if those were also Selectomatic Mark V?
Glad you managed to find some Juilen. These are actually becoming more rare these days.

Interesting enough, Westinghouse RT had these indicators originally (specifically the high-rise ones) before they switched to the LED ones that we're all pretty familiar with. I believe RT was first introduced in, around, or about 1985, and then went to the LED ones around I'd say 1987-ish. Now THOSE early RTs with the LCD indicators are even MORE RARE than these; but still, these are beginning to become more rarer these days.

If you're in Tampa, we are doing a modernization on Otis gearless to MX32's. Large project with 19 elevators.
