    Dear Dr. Joe Niamtu,
    Thank you for answering my questions about the CO2 laser. I just had the fractionated laser Monday and the next day was looking at CZcams videos when I discovered your video on CO2 lasers. I have been watching your videos and am very impressed with your work and willingness to educate the public on plastic surgery. I just watched your video, "The Truth About Facelift Surgery" part one. I went all the way out to California from Tennessee when I was 42 to have a facelift by one of the Beverly Hills 90210 Doctors. I specifically requested a platysma plasty because the neck and jowl line is what really needed lifting. I was told I didn't need a platysma plasty. Well, I got the facelift anyway and looked better but still had the neck rolls and my face looks like it is sliding forward when I look down, so I flew all the way back out there only to be told again I didn't need a platysma plasty. So the Dr. suggested to do a Trampoline Lift, which I agreed to and had done in another physicians office. While he was doing the procedure I was awake so I could hear everything being said. Come to find out, this was his first one and he was being trained to do this procedure. I felt very sick and upset that I was not informed that this procedure was not proven to be effective and not endorsed by him. Now, I have this string or wire threaded through my neck and jowl line. I recently went back out there for a third time to have blepherplasty revision on one eye and discussed with him that I still was not happy with my jowl area. I paid a lot of money to have my face lift then more money for the trampoline lift. After watching your video I feel so sad and cheated. Why would somebody take your money and then not do the best they can do for you?I told my Husband about your video, he thinks that I am silly and crazy because I care about keeping myself up. I owned a beauty salon for twenty years and loved making people look great. It gave me a lot of satisfaction to take someone and make them look great. Just to see them happy made me happy. I just want to say that I appreciate you taking your time to educate anyone who wants to learn. It means more than you probably realize. Thank you!

    Totally conclude with what you say, Dr Niamtu. I had a mini lift done a few years ago. The decision was made because because I couldn't spare too much down time. Looked good for a few months, but after 4 months there was no real improvement. I was quite upset about it. You give a very good explanation as to why it would never have worked, and I wish I had known that beforehand! Well I have just gone back under the knife with a surgeon who does work in a similar way to you, addressing the neck and using a full-length incision. I have prepared for a few weeks down time. Only first few days post op but very pleased with the early results, and now feeling even more confident for the long term after seeing your video Thank you for that :)

    THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS..YOU'RE THE BEST! I have a question I don't see any answers to. When you're swollen after a facelift, particularly the cheek and jowl areas, what happens when the swelling dies down? Is it loose skin or does it appear more chiseled and inward? I'm a bit worried that the swelling when reduces will make things turn for the worse. Does the jowl get tighter when the swelling goes down or does it turn to skin and sag? The point of the lift for me is a more chiseled look NOT rounded so I'm concerned about my face shape changing....iYour expertise is so appreciated! Thank you!

    • @jniamtuiii
      @jniamtuiii  Před 5 lety +1

      Thanks. The skin can inherently stretch and return to normal and that is why swelling does not make much difference in final result.

      @@jniamtuiii OH GOSH - YOU'RE KIDDING. I look like a chipmunk and really am hoping this chisels out.....so it doesn't sag or loosen? i guess i'm lost on what the final result looks like compared to after surgery because no one gives you a clue! I'm wondering if you all see the final results during the operation before people swell up to know about symmetry and that people will not radiclaly change? I'm loving your videos! You're great....thank you for all you do.

    Hi Dr Niamtru. Been following you for months and appreciate your videos. I am having a SMAS facelift in 7 weeks time. I asked my surgeon why he is not doing an incision under my chin to tighten the bands and he mentioned its not necessary. With the incisions that will be done behind my ears, it will lift the skin. I am really concerned about this. I am seeing him again next month and will show him this video and see why he disagrees with your methods. He keeps telling me I do not need it and that if you pull the skin back with the incisions made behind your neck, you cant also tighten the bands in the front. That's my understanding.

    • @jniamtuiii
      @jniamtuiii  Před rokem +1

      you will offend him or her if you show my video. If you have platysmal bands, the in my opinion you need it. I do it on 99% of my lifts. If he does a lot and has good results then you can probably trust him. You could also ask him if you do it the way he wants and you still have bands would he retreat? Most busy facelift surgeons that do a lot have found what works for them. I am assuming you can see many of his or her before and after pics?

    Thank you Dr. Joe; Question:...I'm 72 and about 12 years ago I had a facelift done. They cut in front of the ear, behind the ear and Part of the hairline. recovery was , a week, or so. My whole family has jowl problems, runs in the family?..Don't know, anyway. They did tell me that it wasn't guaranteed forever , but it lasted a long time, so I wasn't disappointed. They may have cut under the chin, I don't recall, but I was wearing something under my chin for a week. I had real bad areas under the neck with loose skin and jowls around the mouth line.and jawline .at the time, and after 12 years the jowls are back. I recently had a consultation with a surgeon and he basically described another facelift, plus upper and lower eyelid enhancement/surgery... Yeah, they could use some work, but is it a must that I have them done at the same time as the facelift. , if my finances are tight?...Also, My neck is in great shape compared to the time I originally had it don.e ..He also said he wanted to transfer fat from my stomach to my face. He almost sounded like a used car salesman. I just want to get rid of these jowls for now, and wait for the eyelid work later ,unless there is a medical reason to do both. I'm in the Chicago area. . Thanks, Dr. Joe...

I have a lot of very close friends that are plastic surgeons, some do a lot of cosmetic surgery, and others don't do any. Cosmetic surgery is all I do and I do almost 100 facelifts a year with great results. Also have friends that are ENT, Derm, Oculoplastic and other specialties that do a lot of cosmetic surgery. Contemporary cosmetic surgery is performed by numerous specialties. I also have 3 textbooks on cosmetic surgery that are best sellers at plastic and cosmetic surgery meetings. I teach multiple courses that are attended by plastic surgeons among other specialties.
