Old Car Festival at Greenfield Village 9-9-23

- Information: hello everyone! Today was the day. The yearly event old car festival was here. It was such a blast this year. Edison did outstanding runs in the night. I also got some videos of the cars to include in the video. I went with @EasternMichiganProductions @MichiganRailfanner and @captainjj5825. Also in the video you notice edison going in then it got pulled out. Why? Well because the diesel brakes are broken so they had to pull out edison for the night runs. You will see many action at the roundhouse in this video. Now lets get into the locomotives. After this weekend, edison will be done for regular season and will start getting ready for Halloween. Torch Lake will go out next and end on October 1st 2023. And 7 is getting her winter projects started already so she wont be returning for the 2023 but she will be back 2024. And now we have 152. 152 is also getting ready for Halloween then start very soon. 1225 will be getting ready soon for her Christmas runs this year. More information soon!

Thanks for the detailed coverage of our beloved Greenfield Village Railroad during Old Car Festival! I initially thought it would be diesel engine first, then Edison second, but it turned out it was the other way around. I was on the train when the unscheduled stop occurred between Susquehanna and Smith Creek. I left early afternoon so I could attend a friend's housewarming party and drive back to Kalamazoo, so I missed the unusual occurrence of Edison substituting for the diesel engine during that night. Hope you had fun!
WOW!!!!! That's awesome how a steam engine had to fill in for a diesel because the diesel was broken. Normally it's the other way around. LOL!!!

Did the diesels really break down last night
@@nathanjackson7992 well yes. While diesel was at Firestone. There was a geese on the tracks. And the diesel was trying to brake but it was not working. Luckily the geese got out the way. The staff did not have trust for the diesel so they brought out Edison again. So Edison did the night runs. Your welcome for this information.
Lol the railroad staff were going to park the steam locomotive so thay didn't have to stay after hours for machnince but Henry Ford's gost said no plus diesels are pieces of crap and in my opinion diesels are not real trains rail roading spirit is in steam locomotive steam machnince is just part of life on the railroad the round house mechanics just need to suck it up and do the machnince just like it was before diesel
I love how right when Edison goes in, the diesel dies, and they have to take Edison back out, lol
Well the diesel was scheduled to run till 6 o'clock and Edison was scheduled to run till closing time Edison parked her coaches and took the diesels because the train was shorter and not so many people were riding the train then
Because they probably needed to be on schedule so Edison took diesels cars for the night
Well as Edison was the first train yesterday, it was scheduled to run until 6:00 that evening but then a problem occurred with the second engine, the diesel engine, that forced Edison to pull the second train for the rest of the night. That is Edison pulled both the first train and second train that day.
