There were many days I sat in the portal room wanting to create outside of my own perspective. I asked Jeff Levin (my A&R) to send me as many folders as possible of instrumental tracks created by different producers. After searching through the folders for a while, there was one track labeled "Respect Vol 1" by this producer named Hoskins that struck me. It was an infectious drum groove over a guitar top line. I wrote the song very quickly. I kept dancing to it, being overtaken by fairy energy. It felt like the stage of homecoming. Connecting with my soul family. A spirited soirée between me and my Fae guides. - Melanie Martinez

FAERIE SOIRÉE is such a banger, I love to listen to it while I work and dance to it.
FAERIE SOIRÉE really doesn’t have much of a meaning. It’s more of a dance song for people to vibe to. I think the music video will be in a mystical realm. FAERIE SOIRÉE is so carefree and different from the other songs on the album. Maybe Crybaby is escaping reality, since in TUNNEL VISION she enters the “portal”. This could also be her entering the new realm.
There’s two meanings to this song (this goes with all tracks). One being about the afterlife and the other about the earthly resonance. Afterlife meaning: About a stage of homecoming. Connecting with your soul family. A spirited soirée between you and your Fae guides. Earthly resonance meaning: being high on shrooms/hallucinogens and getting lost into a world your mind has created.

This is by far my favorite song on the album, and I feel like it’s an unpopular opinion. A lot of my friends aren’t really fans of this song, and I don’t know why. It’s so comforting like my heart rate goes down every time I listen to it. And I feel like it matches the theme of portals very well. It may even be my favorite song of all time!

So, if you were wondering the meaning of this song, I'ma go in detail.
So in an interview Melanie talked about this, she says that she had this room in her old house, and she always felt some presence like a sprit in there. She went back to her old house, and found some musical tracks like a guitar- ish violen/ paion and she fell in love. She wanted to use this
Wile she was reading past- life reggresion therapy, she read something like a dead family reuniting ( not the aftons-) so since the word " Soirée" Stands for party she created faerie soirée which translates to " Faerie party" Resembleing a reunion. Now, let's talk about the story line. [ this is my theroy]
So after cry baby died and was reboned as rhis creature merged with Angelita they had a family reunion. But all of them were dead. ( we were never introduced to Angelica's family so this is Cry baby's)
We all know who the father died. The mother must've drank too much and died, the brother might've smoked too much casuing lung cancer or asthma. So this song might indicate to that.
