  • I had the opportunity to take part in an amazing Rc Rally! The stages were extremly challenging, in which I was experiengin different level of grip, which was changing turn after turn, also the tarmar-gravel mixture was a cool stuff.
    My Tamiya XV-01 performed well, but I had a bit too much of oversteer, I'll need to take a deep look into the setup, despite that and after loosing almost 30 seconds because of a rock stuck near the servo, I have been able to achive a good second position.
    Furthermore in this Rc Rally I had the opportunity to meet a very fast guy, Hugo, he races using a Rc Drift chassis converted by himself into a Rc Rally Chassis.
    It's so cool to see different approaches into this game that lead to create such competitive machines

    That was a challenging rally with all the different surfaces, The gentleman that won did an excellent job and it appeared the steering angle of the drife car was a help on this course. Your performance was very good. With the two problems you had your really covered well to achieve second place.

      Yes this Rally was very challenging, I had to adapt to this challenging surface and also that problem on the second stage prevented me to put some pressure on Hugo since the beginning, but I'm happy that I was able to at least get the second place 🙂
      He did an amazing job on that drift car, I had the opportunity to drive it and it handels in a quite interesting way

    very difficult stages.
    Also very interesting to see a drift chassis in rally

    It was VERY interesting to see how differently the two cars lay on the road, how the weight distribution completely changes how they handle through curves.
    Your new XRay car is amazing Dario but I really love the XV-01 Yaris. :D Such a beauty. Good luck in all your races!

      Time to time I miss my XV-01 too, maybe I'll bring it out of the box just for a random event

    Great video. Are you able to mix tyre selections? I think a soft block on front and the perelli on front would have been a great combo for this.

      Thanks! Yes we can mix tyres selection.
      Yeah that's a cool idea, I didn't thought about that

    Hi Dario, thanks a lot for your amazing videos and congratulations for your results, you are definitely a great inspiration ! Thank to you, I will begin practicing rally, not easily because I don't have the right car yet but soon I will get one either from my "drift car collection" that I will try to modify or save a little money for a new rally chassis, but my question is which car choosing as there is so many options and brands... I'm open to any helping suggestion anyway ;-)

      Hello, thank you a lot🙂!! I'm happy to know that you are enjoying my videos finding my Channel useful!
      Talking about a model for practice Rally, I would suggest you a Tamiya XV-01 or XV-02.
      Having a Tamiya model you are not going to be worried about finding spare parts or upgrades for your model, since they are very popular.
      About the XV-01 / 02 they cost a bit more then a Tamiya TT-02 or other kind of models, but we can say they are Rally ready.
      So once you buy a XV you are ready to play.
      I personally use a Tamiya XV-01 since 2021, I love this chassis once you buy it you just need to add to the kit
      front and rear propeller shaft (Tamiya 54515-54516) and in case some good dampers.
      XV-02 it comes already with most upgraded parts, in fact it's called "PRO" so from what I know there isn't much to upgrade.
      My personal final thoughts:
      XV-01 it's excellent for onroad stages, off-road it's not that easy to drive but it can be fast too, XV-02 does not excell onroad but has better performances off-road.
      Do your own research and choose what you prefer more :)

    What an amazing location! I love when it's a bit dusty and loose and you can power slide around or, with a bit of luck, turn on a dime. It's very difficult to be precise, however, so racing in these conditions is quite stressing.

    • @dariorcgarage
      @dariorcgarage  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes I agree with you, it's super fun but also very unpredictable.
      You can hit something or the dirt can damage the mechanics, making you loose a lot of time

      @@dariorcgarage well I think it's part of the rally to build tough cars. It's like the 1:1 version, the cars must survive the great stress. I'm so impressed the drift car survived and even won! That was a great performance.

      @@dariorcgarage btw, youtube started suggesting some Indonesian RC rally channels, for example tonggonemboke . They don't do nice reportage like yours, but I'm very impressed by the driving skills. They usually race on hard packed dirt rather than asphalt or tarmac and it's absolutely incredible how they drive, pretty much drifting / sliding at high speed through the turns, as if it was just easy. Check them out if you didn't already :)

    Is there a limitation to specific chassis or is it like real rallye "open chassis" with motor / suspension limitations like max turns max wheelbase etc?
    Would love to compete for fun with my fazer Mk2R

    • @dariorcgarage
      @dariorcgarage  Před měsícem +1

      There are some limitations, like lipo battery 2s, wheelbase and so on. Contact the league closer to you and ask for official regulation

    How much does your car cost and how much does your setup with which you drive to a rally cost?

    • @dariorcgarage
      @dariorcgarage  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Start with a Tamiya XV-01 or XV-02, buy some basic esc and radio control and with 200-250 euro you should be ready to go 👍 also consider to search for used models
