IXION 100% Self Sufficient All Sectors, Symmetrical Sector Design, No Accidents

  • This is my symmetrically designed sectors, all 6! Also 100% self sufficient, no mining, no industry. This is an update to my previous self sufficient video, in the previous video I only had 5 sectors open. To achieve this, I have 2 food sectors (2 and 5), sector 1 is space tier 2, sector 3 is recycle tier 2. Sector 4 and 6 are just random stuff, well 6 is more of a battery sector and 4 has lot of storage.
    Avoid first accident = no accident ever = no health building required
    I don't have any health buildings because I don't need them. No accidents ever occur because I never had my first accident, my workers stay at optimal working condition 100% of the time

      Yea for sure, just one way you could play, if you need health buildings, can be put into place in place of crew quarters

      I also had a hard time the first 2-3 times but then I understood how the game works and it became super easy. Some key points may be able to help - always keep working condition at optimal, don't rush to open sectors. Chapter 1, go to earth first to get alloys and start getting probing for iron. Make good choices for research!

    Pretty cool designs. Of course, they look nothing like the ones I devised, but I guess I haven't played the game long enough to challenge myself with being self sufficient or having zero accidents. I've done two runs and so far I've just focused on making efficient use of space on the Tiqqun, since recourses are so incredibly abundant. I wish there was a way to show you my layouts.

    It is pretty but I don't think it optimizes the road layout between sectors. I usually take the top road and stretch it in a line right across the sector and use the 4 spaces space for the first workshop, storage, and you can even throw the mess hall up there if you want. Having a nice straight highway between sectors means that I can feed the whole station easily before I get the tech for a drone bay. I did a single agro sector with farms and algae and you can feed the whole station with it if you want, or you can split into two combo population and agro sectors using insect farms if you don't want to have to mine ice. I found it more efficient to put my colonist training with my population sector, although to be honest I let my cryopods get defrosted in the space sector and then just sent all the nonworkers there to be turned into colonists.

      To be 100% self sufficient means no mining so I don't want to mine ice. Of course, algae farms will return the most amount of food but needs ice/water. Where the roads are makes no difference as long as you have a road leading to the other sectors, specially when you have drones. In this game, once you get drones, there isn't a resource transferring issue unless something is stuck or bugged out. The 4 space at the top or bottom of the sector is useful but I would never put a mess hall there due to the fact it needs a vertical road which messes up the spacing. There are so many ways to design a sector, no right or wrong just personal preferences

      @Game Xin Conceptually, it always made zero sense to me that recycling (waste treatment) did not give you back the water invested into food production. The ship is an almost completely closed system, after all. You don't mass export anything at a rate which would require more than occasional ice mining to balance out the system.

      @@Knight3rrant I agree that recycling should refund some water but not all water since the crops will need water to grow. There is a bonus which reduces the amount of water used but it's quite low I think. The devs are back from vacation for this game and they are making changes as we speak so maybe things will change in the upcoming patches

    I don't wanna sound picky (but judging by your video, you probably are as well) but the building at the bottom right corner of sector 1 is an EVA SAS and not a sonar launcher (sorry if that's not the english word, not playing in english) :)

    I wanna play this game but it beyond me. Does it really requires to be %100 perfect layout without any space left to be okey? I love frostpunk and not a tryhard player and still can enjoy the game. If this game not like this, i dont waste my time learning it.

      it is better to have a good layout but not a requirement. Once you figure out how the game works. it is not hard

      Drone bay works for all sectors but the more drone bays you have the more drones will fly around

      It is a power hog and you really don't need more than one. Adding tech upgrades gets you more drones, faster drones, and they carry more.

      You need to make sure you never go into Overtime. From the very start(prologue) to the end, I have always kept my working conditions at optimal. If you never have your first accident, then you will never have any accidents. In the prologue, you can go into extra hours to trigger the extra worker request but keep optimal after that

      There is nothing more I need in these layouts. I can either leave some spaces to be blank or I can plop crew quarters, your call lol
