The one thing that DUS showed that the pick/ban rules makes the games way more interesting and also brings out the weaknesses in each player's fundamentals as they are usually starved off their regular champion pool. I think RIOT should really look into implementing some sort of a variant of this in competitive play as now it's just the same 10-15 champions rotating depending on Pick side, which makes it really stale and boring to watch.

@@goldenarmour7975 The total number of champions are close to 70-80 each year if you go strictly by the numbers. But if you actually look at the pick percentages the 10-15 meta champions dominate the pick/bans.This is even more apparent in high pressure matches (Best of 3s/5s) where teams hardly take any risks.
@@adityaghosal1000 I feel you, but my reasoning here is that in most metas there are always 4-5 champs that are good to play in any given role. An example is for top, you'd have renek, k'sante, Jax, Kennen that are all very very good and low risk picks. Like, all of these are good into certain comps. Then take jungle : Wukong/Nocturne, Moa, Sejuani, Vi, Poppy. Again, about 4-5. Mid : Azir, Trist, Annie, Syndra, Lissandra, Leblanc (4-5). Adc, which is the role with the most restricted roster still has like Aphelios, Xayah, Draven, Kaisa (4-5). Support is no exception: Nautilus, Rakan, Braum, Rell, Alistar. Those are all picks that tend to be contested/considered like you can't tell me the champ pool is 10-15 that's just delusion.
