Brings tears to my eyes. What a great singer. RiP Liam.
So sad that all the greats are nearly gone we won't see their like again the old Ireland and her great singers how I wish for the old days gone by !
Such a sad, touching song. Now I watch what is becoming of Ireland and that too brings sadness and tears to my eyes.
Thinking of my mother ❤
Amazing voice, most beautiful song, love Liam Clancy
Bhí sé anam álainn. God rest you, Liam Clancy!
Extraordinary. The voice of Ireland.
Liam had such a wonderful way with a ballad...... very powerful indeed R.I.P. dear man. Thank you for such wonderful music.
A lovely haunting Irish air!
A very gifted Irishman in the old style that would keep a herd o sheep captivated with beautiful gifts of the bhaol
Liam certainly throws himself into singing this old tune.
A lovely song by a great singer. RIP
He was special, thanks for commenting Robe
Trying to find his version with Tommy McMakem (?)
gorgeous melody, the very sound of love itself, and of beauty
The beauty of this footage is you know that while he’s singing it, Liam is playing the scene out in his mind…. He sees that fair maiden, the spéirbhean! Wonderful song from a wonderful man
Amhrán grá...Go hiontach ar fad..Go ndéana Dia trocaire ar a anam dílis... Liam...Ní fheicimíd a leithéad arís 🌹
Fabulous haunting captivating
So captivating beautiful
Is deas go bhfuil tú ag baint sult as an gceol !!
So, so good.
Next to the fine guitar play tuning in so superbly.... what a godly way how Liam knew how to get this diatonic button harmonica (?) sound so heavenly and rich ...
Liam became both a finer singer and musician as he aged.
This really is something else... and very good!
In memory of John A. Rip
I feel that Liam became better than ever, as both singer and musician, as he aged. I was pleased when he finally left "the group" and reunited with Tommy Makem and also forged a solo career. He was finally freed of all the show biz trappings and stale repertoire. He also sought out exceptional musicians to back him, and unlike the anonymous studio musicians at Columbia, Liam(and Tommy) gave the musicians the credit they deserved.

So BEAUTIFUL!
Go raibh maith agat!!
