    Oh Andrew, such a bitter sweet post. I'm so glad you were able to try out the Adria. The new pump worked a treat. I loved the pictures at the end. Cheers.

    Hi Andrew, Its very easy to gain an attachment to an immanent object that provides us with so much, shelter, our home, etc,...
    Very charming vlog as is the norm. It's this personal touch you Sir are so good at, a joy to view, great fun, and of course, Dougal!
    Thanks

    Thanks for the video. For your info on the truma water pump the blue bit of plastic flips open to give you an attachment to hold the pump. I didn't realize until I had seen Dan's video. After the pipe coming off three times I have replaced it with the Whale pump, a much better prospect. Thanks for the film on passing the bottom of the bed.

    Enjoyed all of your honest reviews on the good and not so good of the Adria Andrew. Not too shabby a caravan to spend some time living in, that's for sure. That Whale pump looks the business. I had already watched Dans video on it.
    Right, lets get on with autumn and winter living in the Airstream then. Well by that I mean, you do the living and I'll enjoy the videos.....lol. You and Dougal take care now....................Andy.

    Curious as to whether there is enough pipe on the original pump to do an overhand loop (Straight out of the top of the tank, loop back over the tank, then run parallel to the tank top to the caravan connection) to eliminate the kink. Similar to highway ramps.

  • @LisaMarli

    It is a lovely caravan. I don't blame you for getting attached. Still, there were problems you couldn't fix, like the plugs.

  • @downundasvideos6402
    @downundasvideos6402 Před 6 lety +2

    It really is a lovely van, thanks for the reviews of it. In a way I can't help but laugh as all of our Australian vans have inbuilt water tanks and seeing the rollaways that you use is somewhat comical (please don't take offense). However, all of our van parks have water at every site so we can connect mains water directly to the van. We use the water in the tanks when wild camping (we call it free camping) which we do a lot. The downside of inbuilt water tanks means more weight and the ground clearance is higher than UK and European vans.
    No one would buy a vans without inbuilt water tanks here as that's how"normal" they have become.

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton  Před 6 lety

      Cheers! Some vans have inboard tanks but that's mainly for freezing weather use. Very few sites have water to each pitch, hence the Aquaroll!

    Hi Andrew, could you tell me the size of your Airstream plz? You said in one episode that you'd choose maneurability over size any day (something like that). Airstream Europe now has 21, 23 and 26 foot trailers, would you go for the smallest one? That one has smaller fridge, basically no wardrobe... I'm thinking of going for the 23 or 26 foot, how much of a problem do you think those sizes would be for one person to handle? I'd greatly appreciate a quick comment

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton  Před 6 lety +1

      Things are very different here in the UK where we have 17ft Airstreams (like mine) you can manoeuvre by hand thanks to lower nose (tongue) weights, jockey wheels, and the ability to fit a motor mover. Check out my video on Solo Caravanning for more details, cheers!

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton  Před 6 lety +3

      That's what it looked like... it was actually just the force of the handbrake on the caravan travelling backwards that caused the nose to lurch up. No damage done - I think!

    Andrew as you are going to USA to check out their RVs I thought I would put you onto another fulltime RV couple who left the rat race and are involved in making a film about the RV life, their site is RV Love.com (Marc & Julie) this couple will be able to give you the whole package about the life as they do a lot of research, visit RV builders plus its their job/company these days, now the other side of the scale about enjoying the life is The Motorhome Experiment, this couple (Paul & Lorena) sold their brick & sticks and have travelled a lot of USA already, at present they are in Canada but they will answer your questions, hope this helps you, just a bit of information for you, both their channels are also on CZcams, you know what American's, well legal people who reside in the USA are like with cameras. Hope this helps you with your next quest. I must say I used to enjoy caravans in my younger days but we still have a problem in the UK and that is live boards unless you buy from overseas UK ones tend to be to cold, still you should be happy with your Airstream. Safe travels my friend, I liked your DusselVlogs and this van you tested

      No problems Andrew, anything to help, depending on when you are going don't forget the snowbirds travel south for the winter months although I'm not quite sure how that's going to happen this year as hurricanes Harvey and Irma have made Texas & Florida a disaster area, not forgetting an earthquake in Mexico, but with their resolve I'm sure they will be on the case to be open ASAP, myself I'm lucky to contact these people RV & Sail/Motor boat people also people building their house from scratch off grid by CZcams and their home page. Good Luck with your missions and Safe Travels to you and Himself that never smiles.
