The Cabbage Patch frenzy happened in '84, too. People were fighting over them in stores and scalping them for $100+. I was only 8 at the time but I remember it well. No one could get their hands on one. It was nuts. My mom had to hand-sew her own version of them for us for Christmas using imitation plastic heads she got at the fabric store.

It's 2024 and I just got got three of the cabbage patch dolls on eBay and I just love them. I uses to have three of them. Two i rescue that someone threw outside and one my aunt bought me before she died
