"The Phoenix Project" is a science fiction thriller that tells the story of an experiment on reanimation of the dead carried out by four young scientists. Perry Frank gathers a team consisting of his friend and protégé Carter Watts, biologist Devin Fisher and engineer Ampersand "Amps" Garner. Despite doubts about Carter's usefulness, all team members express optimism about the project. The first experiments on an insect and a mouse fail, and the team faces moral and ethical dilemmas, especially when it turns out that the project is funded by Perry's private funds, not a grant.
Conflicts within the team intensify when Devin, motivated by a desire to save his dying sister, insists on using larger animals for experiments. Despite Perry's reservations about testing on large animals, the team achieves its first success with a rabbit. Amps discovers that the mouse that had previously seemed to move was a fake, and it turns out that Perry had moved it himself. Devin convinces Amps to conduct a secret experiment on a human, which leads to a crisis when Perry threatens to call the police.
In desperation, Devin commits suicide, forcing the team to use the machine on him. After the initial success, it becomes clear that Devin has lost his memory and personality, unable to even speak. Faced with the horrific consequences of his experiment, Perry orders the equipment destroyed. The team leaves the laboratory with Devin, who now looks blankly at the world around him. "The Phoenix Project" explores the moral boundaries of scientific research and the consequences that can arise when these boundaries are avrorapal192 violated.

It's a great movie to ignore in the background while working on something insignificant like repairing a lighter.
Enjoyed it so much I think I'll rewind it and actually watch it when I wake up.
Seems like a good movie to play in my sleep......
It's nice to know that even unconvincing actors can still find work. At least they're trying their best.

This movie is the finest example of what happens when you pay for the best sound engineer in hollywood, but cheap out on a director, writer, cinematographer, and everyone else required for making a legitimate movie. I can say that this movie listens well. Better than most. But I am not so sure I'd call it anything other than audio artwork. Very hard to watch.
