Wuhan Breakfast: Wontons & Linguistic Twists

- Join me on day three of my Wuhan breakfast adventure as I explore the local morning delights. After trying 热干面 (hot dry noodles) and 豆皮 (Doupi), today I dive into a bowl of wontons-mini dumplings served in a savory broth with a seafood twist. Along the way, I discover the unique linguistic quirks that make ordering food in different parts of China an adventure of its own.
Watch as I navigate the morning rain, interact with locals, and enjoy a satisfying meal that kickstarts my day in Wuhan.

Wontons with Sea-Monkeys.
That is a quality breakfast. I'm enjoying the food vids Mark. Thanks as always.
Yeah man definitely not a bad way to start the day. I recorded this in 2023 but I still remember how full I was after this one!
She actually recognized you, towering stranger from a foreign land! Great variety of breakfast opportunity. Wee dumplings with fry bread sounds great!
@@zworm2 it was definitely a filling breakfast mate! And yeah that shop owner was always lovely. Her husband though, very indifferent 😅
Enjoying your adventures ! I'd love to have a tour around China outside the tourist areas.
@@Tuatara587 cheers man yeah it's good to get outside the usual tourist hotspots like Shanghai
Hey Mark, I watched the ABs playing against Argentina last Saturday at Eden Park - quite an awesome experience. I think I've started taking a liking for rugby, so maybe I will watch your rugby channel more, lol...
Ah man nice one! Helps playing at Eden Park cos we usually win!
Nice! Wonton soup for breakfast. Or as my dad used to call it; ‘the very heavy soup’ 🙄😆
@@colshivers8018 😅😅
Nice looking breakfast!
Yeah I'm getting hungry!
🎉
That was a fun breakfast Mark! I love Asian food, especially traditional Chinese food…I experienced such variety in Shenzen, I can’t wait to visit again when the world resumes a semblance of normality! Looking forward to taking on the ABs at Ellis Park next weekend. Forget the hype and BS, Saffas never underestimate an All Black side, it should be a great spectacle! Take care and enjoy the match! BOKKE! 🇳🇿🏉🇿🇦💪🍺🍺👍
@@richardho5955 yeah man the variety is one of the best parts aye! And yeah gonna be a massive match!
Could definitely be do those for lunch. Breakfast not so much 😂
Yeah a lot of breakfast food feels more like lunch food! Until ya get used to it 😅
Haha I had the first classes of Chinese. So you understand all the tones when these people are talking so fast 😂
Haha also me and that hot Chinese girl are gonna schedule a time so she can "help me" with Chinese haha, but I'm okay if me and her just hang out 😂
Well done for getting started! The tones seem tricky at first, but yeah you get used to them aye!
Good to know you're getting some extra help 😂
@@TwoCentsOnTour Kia ora Mark,
Kiwi from Kāpiti here. Used to travel a lot and always interested in languages.
I am curious you use "aye" when I (presume) I am hearing 'eh'?
"Aye" is what I think of for the Māori/Scottish word for 'yes'.
Your thoughts?
Man, I wish breakfast was 1 euro here.
@@barryb90 yeah man the cheapest breakfast you can get here is probably eggs on toast for about NZ$8-9
Do they eat much beef steaks etc in Wuhan?
You can definitely get steak over in China - but pretty much only at western restaurants
Do you work whilst over there or just youtube as income
I live in NZ and yeah just filmed a bunch of stuff while I was back in China for the month - kept me busy for a wee while anyway ;)
HAHAH..First one to comment!!! Hello my incredably cultured chinese friend....kkk......I will watch it now but I know it is going to be EXELENT!
